Unfortunately we have to think about these things. Is it biblical to sign the do not resuscitate order?

A DNR order is not an assisted suicide. Rather, it's a conscious choice not to have your life (briefly) prolonged by medical intervention. Perhaps you have a specific concern you'd care to articulate?

Well, I am not too familiar with this. But from reading a few news articles I understand it is a decision we are forced to make quickly if we are in that situation. Isn't this the same principal as removing someone from life support?
Paul said to die is to immediately be with Christ. With this promise, why would anyone "not" desire a DNR? It seems to me, logically, if you need to be hooked up to a machine that keeps your brain and organs alive. You are deceased already. So why put off the inevitable and just go meet your Maker?
And how can being alive by machine only be considered alive by natural sources?

Suicide is taking your life that is surviving naturally on its own, not by surviving through a machine.

I’m not sure... I mean if God has time for you still then you should be willing to go on. I guess? I wouldn’t say at the point of CPR or defibrillator that it’s not biblical, but like say trying to upload yourself onto the internet? Ehhhhhhhh....
My father had a DNR order. At age 83 he ended up in hospital. God saved him, and gave me 5 more months with him. He had Congestive Heart Failure. His heart weighed double the normal weight. All the chambers and valves were distended and messed up. If he did not have a DNR, and he had a heart attack, the staff would have had to crack open his chest and try to get his heart started. That's the law. The heart was 99% Amyloid protein, the same thing people get in their brains with Alzheimer's. It would never work properly, even if the did get it beating. My dad was ready to go. Yet without a DNR, they would have been trying to keep alive a body that was too broken to go on.
In the end, we didn't have to use the DNR, he passed quietly while I held him and prayed with him. But the DNR really could have saved him from a lot of excessive, artificial interventions.
I want to state I am totally against euthanasia and abortion. But letting someone die in their time is not wrong.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means?? In the event that I'm ever in an accident, or suffer a heart attack, stroke or whatever, IF I end up in a coma, I DO NOT want to kept alive by machines that are breathing for me..
Especially if I'm in a coma and am clinically brain-dead with absolutely no hope of ever recovering. Being alive is NOT living, if feeding tubes and breathing machines are what's keeping you alive. That is NOT a good quality of life, IMO..

As we all continue to enter deeper and deeper into the “age of the virus,” we would do well to have prepared our Durable Power of Attorney and our Medical Directive/Release Documents. We never know when such documents will become indispensable. We have heard so much about ventilators, but in my recent research, if one goes on and stays on a ventilator even for a few days, the odds of survival are only about 20%, as the ventilator itself is a last resort and the process to insert it can create other immediate health problems (and long-term problems if one survives). So, perhaps we should even add verbiage in there about the use of a ventilator, something that my current DPA does not address. After all, long ago a Bible writer penned an inspired proverb that highlights the value of such forethought: “A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.”—Proverbs 22:3, New International Version.
A lot of people live longer today because of advanced technology, and medicine.
Years ago without that advancement a lot of people died when they were seriously hurt for no way to correct it if was internal which were many people.
Many people die before natural causes and many of them died years ago before natural causes, where today many of them live past injuries and go on to die of natural causes.
We should not commit suicide for that is wrong and a sin, but if a person says do not resuscitate it is not suicide for they are dying like they would of died years ago without technology to revive them.
At least it seems like that.
Years ago before technology they would of tried to save them, which they are trying to do that now, but if someone says I do not want your assistance to help me live if I am passing away then it would seem like it would not be suicide for they did not cause the situation that is causing them to die, but are going to go ahead and pass away.
Unless it is wrong to not receive help to stay alive if it is available there to save your life, and you do not take it and live.
If the technology is there to save us and we do not take it is it a sin when we could of lived because of it.

I do not think it is a decision made quickly, for it is usually put in place after other incidents that indicate resuscitation to be unproductive, as in, prolonging a life that has deteriorated to the point that keeping them alive sustains a quality of life that nobody would desire for themselves.

Everyone should know from this virus that people are hooked up to a respirator for a week to 10 days. About half the people recover and half do not. Life is always the right choice to make. The Bible says to choose life. So we do what we can to revive and resuscitate people. They are hoping to improve the treatment so that two out of the three recover. So they only lose one of the three.
I was on a machine in a coma 15 years ago and I am still doing fine today. They actually put people in the coma with drugs or they will move around and rip all of that stuff off of them. Lungs do heal and recover.
The opposite of Faith is doubt.
