What is the hell in Christianity

Hello everyone
What is the hell?
Is it place where we will "sinner" torture forever

Or place where we separate from God

I start to think it's second because if I follow him i do that not because of torture but because I wanna be with him if I doing good idea don't have to do that because of fear but because of its wanna follow him

Actually it is both I have actually been there before. It is place that resides not in this dimension. I wasn't taken there because I was sinner rather I think I was taken there to give testimony and I wasn't alone Jesus himself was there with me. I remember being in a pure white place and a door suddenly opened no one spoke but in my spirit I knew I was supposed through the door and suddenly there I was in hell instantly the heat and humity was so intense that my shirt seemed glued to my skin from my sweat and the thirst was horrible I looked to the right and there was people walking but in severe pain as if the ground itself was so hot that burned them badly to my left was the lake of fire itself it seemed as if the fire itself was like water not lava but the flames acted like water having waves and people in it were sxreaming and shrieking in agony.

and above the lake of fire were iron cages with people in it and at a random time it would suddenly drop them into the lake and eventually come back up and repeat the sequence over and over again. in front of me was Jesus himself sitting in a chair and I ran right to him and sat in his lap it's weird but I fit into his lap like a small child.
I was thirsty but for some reason I felt bad asking him for water so I asked him for bread instead to this day I still don't understand why I did that but he reached under his chair and gace me a loaf of bread and I ate it. in front of us were these ruin like places where I guess people either lived or were trapped and there was a man there who at a random time would be attacked by a horrible demon. and I am not sure why but there were people above on a ledge of some sort throwing rocks at his head taunting anbd laughing at him but this man just sat there and took it he said he deserved it and then suddenly the demon came out to attack him but then it saw me and lunged at me.

I was so terrified I buried myself in Jesus's arms and he held me tightly so tight it almost hurt and soon I sensed the demon was gone. but then suddenly something I could not see grabbed me and whisked me away to the cage of people being dropped in the lake of fire it was really crowded and I knew it was about to drop but I said with all my soul I trust in Jesus I am not afraid and then I woke up.
 
I really don't think that the unsaved will be tortured for eternity. I believe you second paragraph is what hell truly is, and that is eternal separation from God.

I certainly hope your right Jerry, ever since I met that man I have begged God to please let his suffering end and let him come home. That man was the only one there that I felt such sorrow for he just accepted his fate and said he deserved it.
I know that many would say it's eternal and that God would never allow a sinner to come to heaven from hell but I just can't help but ask it pains my heart to think he is still there and if there is even a small chance that father would see how my heart aches and allow my prayer to be answered then I will ask until my last breath.

I even told him I would trade any and all treasures I recieve in heaven for this man to be able to come home and be able to bask in father love and that this man can have all the treasures I would have received. It may not sound so bad when one hears about it but if you saw what I saw and felt what I felt.....

Our Heavenly Father heard your prayer before the universe was created, in fact, He has always known your prayer for the man's salvation.

It is God's will and desire that none shall be lost and He is certainly able and capable to accomplish His will and desire.

God is merciful and compassionate and Jesus understands the human condition quite well because He walked once among us mere mortals. My favorite bible verse is "Jesus wept" as it shows HIs humanity along with His divinity. Yes, Jesus did indeed wept. Apparently, He couldn't take the crap down here either.

Don't worry, there is going to be a new paradigm and your friend will be part of the exciting positive changes to come, of that I have no doubt.

I have done something similar that you did as well as you are willing to trade all of your heavenly treasures that you receive in heaven for this man to be able to come home. What I have told God, more than once, is that if there is anything negative that remain on the books for those that I love and have prayed for to have God charge it to my account. I learned this by reading Paul's writings.

It could be that I won't be getting any treasure either in heaven but having those that I love to be with me is reward in itself. The truth is, I really am not down here to earn rewards, crowns, or treasure in heaven. Any good that I may do, by the grace of God, I do because I love God. I believe that in this regard, you and I are the same.

You can take that to the bank my friend.

I would be overfilled with such joy to see this man in heaven one day. I believe you and I are indeed the same in this regard because so often I will tell God that I desire no honor or crown nor do I need treasure of any kind the only thing I ask is for his heart and to have all of him in a love together so deeply intertwined that such a bond has never been heard of before. His heart is the greatest treasure in all of heaven to me nothing else even in heaven can even begin to compare

It is both. Kindly invest in Nave's Topical Bible (KJV) and Strong's Exhaustive Concordance (KJV) if you wish to do a thorough Bible study instead of getting opinions. Also keep in mind that the KJV translators should have transliterated the three distinct places called (1) Sheol/Hades, (2) Gehenna and (3) Tartarus, instead of using the same word "hell" indiscriminately. So that was a disservice which has created confusion.

Finally, keep in mind that Hell (Gehenna, the Lake of Fire) was created for the devil and his angels, and is indeed a place of eternal, conscious torment. Since God created it God knows whether it is just or not. So simply ignore opinions which contradict the Bible.
