So then, for my understanding CC is an Christian Site and not an Charismatic/ Pentecostal Site. You Post seems to say, that all which are not agree whith the charismatic/ pentecostal teaching, are wrong. And the best way to avoid them is to ignore them. If CC is an charismatic/pentecostal Site, then I apologize. I will not further give my coments.
Btw. The typical pentecost teaching about the baptism whith the Holy Spirit I can only find when I take the acts verses and put them out of the Context. What I cant find, is that this what you teach was taught in the NT to the believer,/churches. But this I would expect, because this seems to be the most important teaching since 1901.
Oh I see, I am already on your ignore list :)
I think it is fair to question anything charismatic claim in the light of scriptures. I also thin it is ok for those here to feel it is not for today. They have an understanding that that see in the word of God. As do those who see it the other way. There is attacks and insults by both. That will never change :). Nor do I think those who disagree should be forced to agree. If one can not formulate and argument ( apologetics ) to refute ones position Biblically. Then move on.

You will always have dog whistle topics that attract those who disagree and come to that three with the agenda of causing disruption.

They think it is their way of protecting the faith against unbiblical, false teaching, and error. "It is their calling" yet God did not call them to it. You have to stay in the word of God. Ones experience and frankly testimony will never be accepted in this setting by those who see you or others as biblical error. That is why in this setting our only defense is the Word of god :) and prayer for them and you.

FYI try "ignore" tab next to their name when you move the mouse over it. It works wonders and makes them crazy :)
Oh I see, I am already on your ignore list:)

Circumcision is just the central feature required in the Law of Moses. Once one is willing to be circumcised, one is expected to keep the rest of the Law. Yes, the Jews had to show their faith in God by keeping all the Law of Moses, since God commanded them to.

Thus, you are agreeing that faith + keeping the Law is required for salvation, before the cross. ;)
Nope. Abraham was declared righteous before circumcision. Circumcision was just the acting out of the faith he had, probably similar to what baptism is today. Do we need to be baptised to be saved? No. Is baptism a natural acting out of the faith we profess? Yes. As with baptism today, so with circumcision then.

If you think any of the Jews were able to keep the law of Moses, you are sadly mistaken. Just as we are saved today, I believe the Old Testament saints were likewise saved by faith in God, who imputes righteousness to those who believe on Him. Any effort of our part or their part of good works or keeping the law, is as filthy rags to God.

They have to try to keep the law. During the ot, one of them died because he picked up sticks on the sabbath.

Another example, if the Jews did not do animal sacrifices after they sinned during the OT, will they still be saved?

From my experience I see that you don't put in the effort to understand the charismatic position, and instead mock it in ignorance.
The teaching is straight forward . Men mock God by making a noise and falling backwards.

Some are slow at understanding that tongue is prophecy as language that is able to confer faith as the understanding of God. The parables reveal mysteries not hide them as some sort of unknown wonderment of sign seekers .

God does the mocking with stammering lips and yet even after warning them they still make a noise without understanding and fall backward to to show God is mocking them .

The mocking of them becomes a wonderment the good ole self edifier. The topping off of the Spirit hat keeps needing a recharge of filling .

That the problem with mockers they never get enough of being slain in the Spirt while getting filled.

Why do you think they continue to mock God with stammering lips by falling backward .What does falling backward represent?

Black the mockers .

Red the voice of authority.

Green the prophets with their new tongue the gospel

The people say, “Who does he think he is trying to teach and explain his message to? Does he think we are babies who were at their mother’s breast only a very short time ago? He speaks to us as though we were babies:

“Saw lasaw saw lasaw
Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw
Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

So
God will use this strange way of talking, and he will use other languages to speak to these people. In the past he spoke to them and said, “Here is a resting place. Let those who are tired come and rest. This is the place of peace.”

But
they would not listen to him. So the Lord’s words will be senseless sounds to them:

“Saw lasaw saw lasaw.
Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.
Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

When the people try to walk, they will fall backwards. They will be defeated, trapped, and captured.Isiah 28 :9-13

Make a noise and fall backward.? ??

Why mock God as those that fall back slain in the spirit? Rather than believe His tongue prophecy. ?

So if the Jews did not do animal sacrifices after they sinned during the OT, will they still be saved?
We should be careful how we hear or say we hear.

Circumcision is a sign of the first born our "bloody husband" Christ . A sign that points to His sufferings beforehand and the glory that did follow. The graves were opened and the tens of thousands of old testaments saints entered in the heavenly city of Christ. fulfilling the "shadows "of the eternal not seen.

They as us received the end of their salvation from the beginning. .There is a excellent verse in 1 Peter 1 that helps reconcile the saints under the work of the faith of Christ beforehand that richly works in all that beleive God. . not seen.

Some teach that they did not have the Holy Spirit in them until Pentecost . That kind of idea would make them faithless as the unconverted.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified "beforehand" the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Peter 1:9-11

The blood of animals cannot atone for the sins of mankind . What we need is spirit life not lifeless animal blood. It was used like circummsion it was poured out just as the Son of man the first born blood was poured out and returned.... it showed unseen life was given .Literal blood without the spirit is dead. It must be poured out so that it can return to the lifeless spiritless dust and water it was formed from

learn how to walk by faith the unseen eternal .Chasing after the temporal as to what the eyes see is a dead end street .

You just confirmed the truth of my statement.
So then do you agree that making a noise without understanding and falling backward is mocking God? The law revisited in 1 Corinthians 14:22 ?

Or should I join the self-edification group of sign as wonderment seekers as a oral tradition of men ? ?

Prophecy is for those who believe all things written in the law and the prophets (sola scriptura) With their new tongue the gospel seed is planted.it can cast out demons by the power of it as it is written.

Just be silent and don't fall backward . That does not seem it would like that much work or effort " And remember in Hebrews we are informed as the better things that accompanies salvation God will not forget those kind of good works we do offer toward Him. Unlike those who do mock him by making a noise and falling backwards.

The foundation for the tongues doctrines begins in Isaiah 28

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Apparently you don't understand the meaning of "confirmed" either. You just made it clear (again) that you do not understand the beliefs of charismatics and prefer to mock them rather than putting the effort in to understand what they believe.

It's really better to keep silent regarding subjects about which you know so little.

Acts 7:54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
Acts 7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

Usual reaction when folks do not like the message God sends to them. I can just imagine the religious leaders running at Stephen and biting him filled with rage and hatred. Afterward they know doubt complained about how mean he was to them.

They have to try to keep the law. During the ot, one of them died because he picked up sticks on the sabbath.
But no one can keep the law - not even Jews. Remember Jesus' parable in Luke 18:9-14. The Pharisee trusted in his own righteousness, whilst the publican threw himself on the mercy of God, knowing full-well he could not keep the law. Yet Jesus stated that the publican was justified, rather than the Pharisee.

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Another example, if the Jews did not do animal sacrifices after they sinned during the OT, will they still be saved?
All Jews sinned during the Old Testament. So how could a Jew with faith in God not do animal sacrifice? I'm not saying it's impossible - maybe the Jew in question was a leper, and not permitted. But in general, faith in God would prompt one to obedience.

What serpent on Moses' staff are you speaking of?
In the wilderness disobedience kindled a curse.
God responded to sin with snakes that bit with firce venom.
Moses was instructed to fashion a snake of brass and put it on a wooded pole
(Jesus on the cross as a cursed thing)
Those looking on it were healed.
This is one of the first vivid pictures of healing being a second component of the nt covenant.

We also see this in his earthly walk. Almost every page of the gospels has Jesus healing someone.
It reveals his mission.
Restoration.

Not seeing the forest for the trees. It is not about physical healing but a demonstration of Gods grace. Look and live as we do with Christ. Eternal salvation through grace received by faith.

Physical healing that still resulted in physical death after wandering in the desert for forty years.

If you impute false values to the word of God you will have theology replete with false values. There is nothing more important than redemption from sin and inheritance of eternal life. Priorities revealed.

The trees that make up the forest are not "false values". If you think they are, your forest will be devoid of trees.

I already stated that the system of animal sacrifice was designed for the OT Jews every time they fail to keep the law. If you have to sacrifice an animal every time you sinned during the OT, that is already a work. An animal was costly to anyone during the OT.

We are saved by faith apart from the law, that is the main benefit of living after the cross. Is it that difficult for you to accept that, before the cross, the Jews had to be saved by faith + keeping the law? I already agreed with you that no one can keep the law perfectly, so I don't understand what are you objecting to.

Salvation has always been by grace, through faith in God. God gives even New Testament Christians commandments, but we still sin. King David committed capital sin, for which no animal sacrifice could be offered, but the blood of Jesus atoned for this. Either King David went to hell, or salvation was always by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

That's like saying Jesus lied and the bible is full of lies.

You are in what is called "a fool's paradise"
Thinking things are really, really, really exactly like you perceive.
All the while the truth condemns you.
1) if you think healing is not part of the new covenant then you see the bible and the ministry of Jesus as a sham.
2) or you really are duped into a bible propaganda that twists His Holy Word.
