I'm going to be visiting my 86 year old mom ( with slipping faculties) who lives across country as frequently as possible and hugging her and telling her how much I love her and miss her...

That's very cute. But let's remember the suffering in the world and those who have lost their lives in the past pandemic, and those who suffer needlessly each year. It's ok to party lightly and safely with people you know, and respectfully, and help someone who may need help, regardless of the situation, if it can be safely done, or ask for assistance from trusted qualified personnel. One of the lessons of this health warning, which turned out to be a highway exit speed bump to slow us down, is to never pass by someone suffering, without endangering ourselves or those with us. Keeping in mind that there are those who may try to exploit Christian kindness.
And praise and thank the Lord for good health and life's sacred offerings, and for those who are being saved through our Christian witness.
Honestly I'd get on a ferry to go see my mom and sisters and their families. Mom and I talk every day but I haven't been able to hug her since Christmas. That is just too long. I was going to travel over there during March break but then life happened. It will be a while longer before I do crowds. A walk along the water? Yes. A nice meal out? Another yes, but there is nothing wrong with being alert and cautious.
Oh I'm sorry. I in no way am making light of the deaths or suffering. I do apologize for giving that impression.
No one would ever think that of you Charie, I think the moral of that was to look out for yourself, and don't get taken advantage of. LOL...
Yeah and to keep the eyes of our hearts open, ready to serve and to care for others, all for God's Glory. And to be thankful and grateful for our well-being in Him.
There are a lot of facets to how we respond to this crisis. Joy is one of the finest ones. Celebrating the ability to embrace our friends and family is an act of gratitude. There will be grief and mourning, and hopefully and appreciation for the gift of life. You have a tender heart CharliRenee. Please don't be sad. It is all about attitude of the heart and yours was in the right place.
