Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Christ died for unbelievers, not ex-believers who have trampled him underfoot.

Once again you are telling God how to act... this is personal for you, not about truth.

Sad really.
Why do you keep making this personal?
Why is it hard for you for someone to have an opinion other than yours?
Don't give me the 'oh, I'm just defending the truth' bit.
You can do that without making it personal.
I mean, you can, right?
Let's see if you can.

Oh Judges1318, I'm thinking you've never encountered the "Arm of the Lord" - how far He can reach....how mighty His Arm is to save.....:giggle:

You're using human reasoning to try to understand the ways of God......

Those Pharisees wanted all the sick to remain sick on the Sabbath, and even forbid GOD to heal on the Sabbath....lol! Imagine how ridiculous that was....:giggle:

Now, you're telling us and GOD that He cannot save prodigals if they are in the land of prostitutes and pig farms......

Well, God healed on the Sabbath and I'm pretty sure He plans to save prodigals in the land of prostitutes and pig farms! I think He even saved a few of those Pharisees! lol!(y)
You do realize that the prodigal is not a struggling saint. It's the person who has rejected Christ, whether before ever being saved or after. You are saying unbelievers will enter into the kingdom of God. 'Taint gonna happen.

I posted scripture. If that condemns them, so be it.

Or maybe they can be a listener and doer of the scripture instead of being an analyzer of the scripture, and get freed from error.

There's too many Greek and Hebrew "scholars" and not enough English listeners.
Ah, I disagree!

There can never be too many Greek and Hebrew scholars! We need people who study and care about the text.

But a true scholar will also be a listener - that is the nature of a scholar.

The trouble is when we have Greek and Hebrew "listeners only" and not enough English "scholars". :D
Oh dear, human reasoning over the scriptures can really get comical and I do enjoy laughing....:giggle:

Oh the folly of man......just a hamster on the wheel spinning and spinning and going nowhere really fast...lol! :giggle:

I prefer to just sit still with the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit what they mean. He's the BEST Teacher and Scholar - He knows the heart and mind of God and loves to teach an open seeking heart the ways of God and the secrets in the scriptures......all you got to do is sit for a little while, seek with all your heart for Truth and ponder, ask Him questions.....(y)

That's what I want to know!
The new osas says believing is God's work, not yours (if 'you' do it, it's you trying to save yourself).
If that's true, why does God fail so miserably at his job of believing for some people?
I don’t see it that way.

It is personal not to me but to whom I have entrusted my salvation and it is secure in HIM.

I also know first hand that damage your false dogma can do.... OSAS is truth and there is no other way to walk in Victory...all you offer is bondage and insecurity.

It's concerning to me that you did not attempt to respond to Romans 13:8-10.

Is this how a "chat" works?

Ignore the rebuttal and keep attacking?
There are too MANY of you going rounds in circles makes me dizzy!!! ..... and I am working on my computer while I respond so I loose track.

Wrong. The prodigal is a "SON" that has been born to His Father and could ONLY have been born because he did NOT reject Christ, instead received Him as Lord, Savior, and King.

However, he thought he knew how to live better than the way his Father was living, so he ventured out - only to learn that "Father knows best"!

It was a "growing up time" for the prodigal. NEVER was he not a son and NEVER was he not loved and accepted by his Father.

I have good news for you Judges1318, when Daddy kills the fatted calf for His prodigal son, there's enough for you, too! No need to be angry at God when He welcomes the prodigal home with loving arms, robe and ring!(y)

You are trying to push the parable further than it's purpose. In fact it states just the opposite of your implications.

(Luke 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.)

Once a son always a son.

Rebuttal: Romans 13 8-10 NOT how one is saved or stays saved.
That was not the topic.

You said that if one breaks one law, he has broken them all.

And I posted Romans 13:8-10 to show that loving your neighbor will result in keeping all the law.

Oh Micaiah-imla, in Adam - ALL die anyway.

IN Christ - ALL live!! Hallelujah!

There's no need to nit-pick over breaking laws.......:giggle::love:(y)

(I like rolling my eyes......it's fun! :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::giggle::love:)

Yes! Stay focused on LOVE!(y)

You are conflating two different things.

Paul is not teaching that in loving others, we will obtain on our own the righteousness of God.

Paul has made it clear we have died to the law.

Nor is he stating we can love perfectly, we can not— if we could we would be able perfectly keep the law and we cannot.

Paul is telling us the benefit of love in that we will never hurt anyone.
