No, that is not what he is saying......and like I said...he was not even a believer until after the resurrection, and he was not personally taught by Jesus.......his contradiction is AIMED at a mere BELIEF in God which the Jews have to this very DAY, but NO saving FAITH into Christ...

NOW BY WORKS of righteousness which we have Done, but ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HAS HE SAVED US <- PAST TENSE SALVATION NOT BASED UPON GOOD WORKS WHICH WE HAVE DONE

you guys are false, wrong and peddling error
I think there is a crossing of wires.

Everybody here understands that we are saved by our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

All that is being said is that, through our faith in Jesus, we should keep his commandments:
John 14:15
"If you love me, obey my commandments"

so what if he wasnt a believer, Paul killed Christians. James is also the most documented figure outside the bible.

peddling error but we are not the ones adding words like "alone" to scripture to make our doctrine work.

nothing you said above has any value or doctrinal truth attached and the bible is clear....It is faith ALONE that saves a man <- get that through your working for head....you cannot get any more saved than saved by faith and what part of the following do you not grasp

Not of WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOHLD BOAST

NOT by works of righteousness which we have DONE

HE THAT BELIEVES ON THE Son IS HAVING EVERYLASTING life

and NO ONE except JESUS has every or will ever KEEP the law and or commandments amd exactly WHY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS is IMPUTED BY FAITH <- FAITH PAL.....NOT WORKS OR SOME FANTASY land law commandment keeping drivel!

a. NO ONE keeps the commandments and or the law
The above is false.

Christ said his people do keep His commandments. That is contrary to the above.

Conflating "the law" with this (keeping his commands) is to assume to "keep" his commands means being "under the law."

Nope. Not even close.

I'll take the words of Christ over this, he said his people do keep his commands. This is absolutely true.

One must define "keep" instead of assuming ignorantly like in the above quote.

Keep believing that......another religionist worshipper and peddler of Calvin.....

No one KEEPS the commandments of God (perfectly) and you must not be that bright if I have to qualify the truth of what I said!

How is that altar coming along to Calvin?

I think we all need to take a step back and remember that we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

I feel that our disagreements are beginning to verge on personal attacks and I'd like to encourage each of us to take a step back and pray for eachother as well as ourselves.

I also believe that some of the commenters on this thread need to look beyond the thread title and consider deeply what is being said...

This is what I believe, and why I started this thread:

We are reconciled with God through belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are told to
1. Have faith in Jesus, AND
2. Do our best to stop sinning and rebelling against God

John 14:15
"If you live me, keep my commandments".

We will never be able to stop sinning because of our imperfect nature and so we will never be able to reach the standard of God through any works.
However our faith in Jesus makes up for this shortfall.

BUT, the point of this thread is that if we do not consciously turn away from sin and do our best to stop rebelling against God once we accept Jesus into our lives, Jesus' sacrifice will not cover those sins:

Hebrews 10:26
"Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins".

Where did I say anyone keeps the commands of Christ perfectly mouthpiece?

Did I say that? No. So, you're slandering, again.

Did you bother to look up the word "keep" and try to understand what it means?

I have, I know what it means, while you're still in ignorance conflating it with being "under the law", doing it "to earn salvation" &c showing your shallow understanding of the Gospel.

But, that's not what it means, and besides this, Christ said his people do "keep" his commandments. I believe him.

But keep the name calling coming. :)

I think you and I have found agreement despite hitting a temporary rocky patch :)

But you see now, all these incendiary posts just for pointing out that Christians should keep God's commandments.

Blah blah blah funny how many have you on ignore, your incessant push of being a KNOW ALL and worship of a man and his view over scripture (Calvin) places your view in the trash bin dude.....and like I said...NO ONE, not even YOU....KEEPS the commandments OF GOD....because TO SAY THAT...YOU MUST KEEP THEM 24/7/365 AND too be honest I could care less what you believe....you proved who you really are when we had out little dialogue BEHIND the scenes and let your hypocrisy shine bright......!!!

Make no mistake...you are not all you make yourself out to be and your view of scripture has many flaws!

See, they don't want to think rationally and knee jerk react to any mention of obedience, works, evidence of conversion, and then go on the attack of ignorance.

We are saved solely by grace, period, and that is through faith and not of works; Ephesians 2:8-10.

Scripture teaches that the converted keep the commands of Christ.

Fact!

Yet that doesn't mean "being under the law," it doesn't mean "earning salvation", it doesn't mean "works gospel" but it does mean the product and evidence of true conversion. Note Philippians 2:11-13.

Let them attack, slander, call names. I highly doubt any of them have the intestinal fortitude to see the real definition and then agree with Christ and Scripture that his people do "keep" his commands and then subsequently accept the correction. Why? They assume the meaning of the word "keep" and are in ignorance.

But who knows. Maybe?

There he goes again, putting words in my mouth, making false accusations, slander. Nowhere have I said any of the above, nor have I implied it. :)

Nope. Can't look at what I really said, and learn, and look up the meaning, or admit Christ said his people "keep" his commands. That's too hard. Yelling, name calling, slandering? That's easy. :)

you said that when you said "dont murder has nothing to do with "dont murder".
apperently its only there to show us we are sinners. i have never murdered anyone so apperently i dont know i am a sinner. makes no sense to me.
that’s your problem. You focus on one sin. Paul said if you keep the whole law yet fail in just one point your guilty
stop thinking of Murder and think of your own sins

and he said faith with no works is dead.
and faith "alone" was added to scripture. having to edit scripture is a red flag to me.
Janes spoke to people who claimed to have faith but had no work HE TOLD them their faith was dead. He did not tell you to play God and judge them

Amen....when one says....NOT BY WORKS IS FALSE....it becomes clear there is a motive.......it is hilariously tragic how some of these jokers are just like the Pharisee of old....all that and a bag of spiritual chips.....so faithul, so righteous.....it is sickening....Paul did not boast...he said clearly that he was the NUMBER ONE CHEIF SINNER AMONG MEN in the present tense....not some legalistic I KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD religionist.........that tells me all I need to know and the absolute truth....I have dealt with MANY LEGALISTIC INDEPENDENT, SOUTHERN AND MISSIONARY Baptists in my life and they ALL HAVE THAT ATTITUDE....very self righteous, hypocritically claim to ALWAYS keep this or do that while all the while being as far from God as a lost man....HONORING GOD with lip smackin but hearts far from him....

Zero honesty or integrity to just simply be honest and say....you know....we all fail everyday in some form or fashion!

They are, put simply, lazy Christians.

They want salvation, but they don't want to have to worry about keeping God's commandments because that's too difficult!

They're not true followers of Jesus, they're just part of his fan club.

Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter".

It's not really worth it to me to argue with them, especially when you've been clear to your meaning, offer up some biblical analysis and then they will, well, lie about what you said.

I've recently studied this word "keep" and what Christ meant, it's a wonderful thing to know by the way. It isn't about being under law, but being free in Christ.

But I digress, I'm not interested in dialog with that type of Christian or response, so, I'm going to bow out and ignore any further responses. Not "put on ignore" just ignore in general.

Have fun!
