1 Timothy 5:20
As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.

Ephesians 5:11
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

None of those scriptures says to go hunt for them. You asked a question in the thread title. I'm going to sit hear and validate what you really want to do.

Practically, there will may be Christians in our circles or on forums such as this who are being led down a false path.
I believe we have a responsibility to help these people hear the TRUE word of God.

How to best go about doing that is a matter of opinion.

The only way is the truth. Light always outshines darkness. From what I have experienced, trying to tell a rusted on catholic they are wrong in so many ways prove it, is futile. They get angry and wont listen.

The same can be said for evangelicals and or any "protestants" of any "flavour".

Thank you for your continued help, I appreciate it.

I believe that salvation is not given to us in this life, rather that it is given to us in the next life based on the decisions we make in this life (i.e. the decision to follow Jesus).
Therefore I do not believe that we swap from a state of being saved to not being saved, in this life.

I DO believe that our lives can be on a trajectory towards salvation or 'non-salvation', and that the trajectory can change.

I believe that by allowing the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and choosing to follow Jesus, we put our life on a trajectory for salvation.
But if we choose to change that trajectory to one of deliberate sin and rebelliousness against God, then yes our trajectory changes.

I do not know what happened to Peter as I am not God.

Scripture obviously provided in previous posts.
Your understanding of Scripture is soooo lacking.
I would suggest that you not try to correct anyone until you come to an understanding of Scripture.
I will pray for your salvation.

Have wasted way to much time today talking with you.

You're right, which is why my personal approach would be to teach the followers of the false teacher why they're following a false teacher.
I would not be as concerned with convincing the false teacher themselves.

No time is wasted when it comes to bringing somebody to salvation.

Thank you for praying for me.
I will ensure that I'm open to God's guidance on these matters.

if we cut off everyone who has a doctrine that doesn't align with our interpretation of scriptures we may not have any churches left.

Sadly we all have drifted far from the beginning.

One Mind in the Upper room, oh to find beleivers with that same one mind
and this is why many years ago I stopped going to organised religion and connected with God by myself . The past 8 years in particular have been wonderful, I am a changed person and my knowledge has grown substantially in that time. If I was involved in a church it probably wouldn't have happened.

prosperity theology has done a lot of damage to chrisitianity. It causes them to lose focus on the truth, and chase rainbows. That wont get them to heaven.

But it does not necessarily preclude them. Not saying I agree with their theology.

So you are disobedient to scripture?

Quite impressive that you value yourself so highly.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Yes, our circles that's fine. But if people want to spend their life on a false teacher ministry as their focus uploading 'exposed' videos on. YouTube and blogs, that's another matter.
Be prepared for people to think the same about you lol
And know when to let things rest, our commonality in the faith is more important than our differences.

maybe I am set aside for a purpose? Anyway I was never satisfied with prosperity theology , nor the rituals and noise. You can exhort people within your sphere of influence, and besides, trying to get these people back on the right path is nigh on impossible .

My family is in the same boat with Gregory, we haven't forsaken assembling, we have fellowship with the saints quite regularly, just not in the same manner as the traditional church model of the current day.
I highly recommend it, it's much more authentic.

You do also realise there was a sect that formed in those days when that was written which isolated themselves from people, right?

It's late here in the UK so I'm going to have to turn in for the night, but before I do I just want to say this:

We are repeatedly warned about false teachers and false prophets.
We must not mock what the Bible tells us.

Regarding Hillsong, I need to turn in now so I'll just leave this here, and encourage each of us to do our own research.
BTW I was once at a Hillsong Church and left because of false prosperity teaching (see my 'tithing' thread)

https://www.gotquestions.org/Hillsong-Church.html
I read the article and none of the examples given are unique to Hillsong. Using the examples pointed out in the article, you would probably call the entire Assemblies of God denomination (64 million and counting) false teachers. These are differences in interpretation of scripture and you have the right to your views. If you want to call everyone that thinks YOU are the one making a mistake in YOUR interpretation of various scriptures a false teacher that needs to be rebuked you can take that attitude but I think it is immature.

So now that I know what it is that you are calling false teaching using the examples listed in the article that you posted, I will answer your original question.

If you are wanting to know how you should proceed in exposing the "false teaching" of women being ordained to ministry you should present your scriptural argument as to where you believe that the bible teaches that a woman cannot be ordained to preach. Then you should listen while the brother or sister presents their scriptural reasons why they believe you have misinterpreted the scriptures you used, and where they believe the scriptures teach that God does call women to preach the gospel. After both sides have presented their case then you must use intellectual honesty to decide which side has adhered to all the rules of hermeneutics, and therefore has the STRONGEST case. If you still do not agree, you will at least have discovered why the other brother is convinced that they are being faithful to the authorial intent of the scriptures presented and you will at least respect that other brothers sincere desire to please God in their understanding of that scripture. And then FALSE TEACHER will be stricken from your vocabulary and you will simply agree to disagree.
