According to Matthew 16:27
clearly some will receive a reward or rewards plural...when they get to heaven....according to they're works here on earth...

Hello @Chipster, I see that you are still pretty new around here, so first off, welcome to CChat :)

That said, I'm afraid that the "rewards", which will be given to some of the saints, are one of those Biblical "mysteries" that we are going to need to wait until the Bema Seat Judgment to find out about. The only thing that I can think of, from Revelation 4, are the "crowns" that were given to the 24 elders, who cast them before the throne of God as they worship Him.

That said, I believe that any thought of what the "rewards" actually are (including the 24 elders' crowns) is a matter of conjecture at this point in time (perhaps someone else knows of something in the Bible that I'm not thinking of however? We shall see :)).

God bless you! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

Deuteronomy 29
29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

Hello Brother, I know that many of the saints will receive rewards at the Bema Seat, though some will not .. 1 Corinthians 3:15 (nevertheless their salvation remains secure, of course), but I wonder if there will be differences in the punishments that are meted out to the reprobate at the Great White Throne Judgment  Surely (as Milton suggests) there will be harsher punishments for the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Pol-Pot, etc., than there will be for the less morally evil members of the reprobate, yes

Thanks!

Thank you Deuteronomy and cv5...
I seem to recall somewhere in the Word that crowns will be given others too...as well as the 24 elders...

Yeah I knew Jesus doesn't go into detail at Matthew 16:27....I was just hoping someone would recall the subject elsewhere in the Word....thanks again...

Sure! The βῆμα or Bema of Christ = the "Judgment Seat" of Christ .. e.g. Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10. It is there that we Christians will give an account of our lives to the Lord Jesus as He sits in judgment of our service to both Him and our fellow man (both saint and reprobate) during our lives here.

The Bema Seat Judgment is different than the Day of Judgment at the Great White Throne, where the reprobate will be both judged and condemned .. Revelation 20:11-15.

The saints will not stand with the reprobate in that Judgment (Great White Throne), nor will the reprobate stand with the saints at the Bema (Judgement Seat) of Christ (where the saints will receive their crowns and rewards, if they are due them ... and where none will be condemned, even if all of their earthly works are judged to be worthless and are burned .. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15).

Here's a link to a more thorough explanation from our friends at GotQuestions.org: https://www.gotquestions.org/judgment-seat-Christ.html (www.gotquestions.org is a good site to bookmark as it is a good place to go to get answers to most of your theological questions, as they pop-up during your studies).

At the bottom of their short article, you will find several additional links to other articles of theirs (on related subject matter) that I believe you will find very interesting too :)

God bless you!

Hello @Chipster. Concerning the subject of "judgment/condemnation", and in particular, the lack thereof for Christians and why, here is a VERY interesting verse to spend some time considering (take special note of the verb tenses as they are pretty important too).

The amount of information that the Lord has packed into this single verse is simply astounding (IMHO anyway) :) Here it is.

John 5
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, ~has~ eternal life, and does not come into judgment [or condemnation], but has passed out of death into life.

This is one of the principle verses telling us that we are "saved" & have come into possession of "eternal life", from the moment that we first believe/come to saving faith in Christ. If you'd like to discuss this verse further, just let me know and we will do so (Dv).

God bless you!

~Deut

John 3
18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Matthew, Chapter 16:

27) For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Well, I don't know about y'all, but I'm gonna get certain rewards for recognition of my works for the Kingdom.

!) A small cottage b6y a Lake/River, or with a nice size pond
2) A Johnboat and a pier to dock it at.
3) A good set of Fishing Tackle........Rod, Reel, and all the other junk.
4) A nice plot of land near the Cottage where I can grow Veggies.
5) A nice plot of land near the Cottage where I can grow flowers.
6) A singing voice that DOES NOT terrify humanity when I sing.......

(now, some may say this isn't what Heaven will be like, but I say...........no one here on Earth knows what Heaven will be like, so don't mess with my imaginings)

I have tried a lot of research on it, the best answer i can say is there will be shared authority to varying degrees. Some people will be more important than others, and responsibility will be on different levels also. As to what rewards in particular, i do not know, the bible doesnt say much about it.

The rewards to a Christian are as follows
  1. The diligent Christian gets to be a king of a city, or cities in the Millennium (Lk.19:17-19)
  2. The faithful Christian gets to be ruler over "all the Lord's goods" (Matt.24:45-47)
  3. The faithful Christian gets to be ruler over "many things" (Matt.25:21-23)
  4. The faithful Christian gets to be part of the Wedding Feast of Christ (Matt.22:8-14, 25:10, Rev.19:7-9)
  5. The martyrs will rule with Christ over the Nations after He returns (Rev.20:4)
  6. The faithful Christian will receive the spiritual gifts taken from slothful Christians (Matt.25:28)
  7. The faithful Christian will get the rewards offered to the seven Churches of Revelation 2 and 3
The slothful, sinning and defeated Christian will be cast from the presence of Christ for 1,000 years. Some will have things taken from them as well. And in some cases they will be actively punished (Matt.25:30; Lk.12:47). Just as Israel are chastised for 2,000 years and then restored, so the slothful Christian will be chastised for 1,000 years, then restored. He is cast into OUTER darkness where there is weeping. After the 1,000 years there will be no more tears (Rev.21:4). All this will be decided at the Bema - the traveling throne of Jesus as He returns to earth and meets His Church in the air and clouds (Rom.14:10; 2nd Cor.5:10).
