I don’t think that at all about you. The verse doesn’t say what you want it to say. It’s just not there. You can elevate your impression about the Word of God. A famous OSAS preacher has a similar testimony. He was afraid of losing his salvation and it occurred to
him that he cannot. Did not get it from the Bible either but just a feeling.

We can end the discussion here. I have nothing but warm love for you. I will tell you that God speaks to me as to you. He gives me love even for those who oppose me. It’s not difficult.

His blessings upon you!!!

Dear DorothyMae.....it has got nothing to do with a feeling.
The Holy Spirit testifies to your spirit that you are his child...he comes in and takes up residence in your spirit...that is the only way that you can know you are born again....then you start your walk with him....it’s not an easy walk either but the only one for me.

How do you know you are born again....has the Lord taken up residence in your spirit?

How was it for you?..please explain..so I can get a clearer picture of where you are coming from.

Can I just also add..I am alive in Christ.....I have also been told that it is just feelings....when a person says this to me....I wonder about them....it’s like a red flag.
A person who has received the Holy Spirit into their heart wouldn’t say that to me....again I’m not attacking anyone’s belief..I just don’t understand it...

Repentance is also necessary. Salvation is from sin, not hell per se.
Both I would say. However, it’s the sin “nature” we are delivered from, not just our individual failures.

Repentance is the catalyst in the beginning, yet ongoing also in sanctification....true.

The work is of God, but the response is ours.

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

2Ti 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 1:14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Jackrosie,

You know, God does make special
promises that are unique to individuals. He can promise a believer, for example, a spouse. Doesn’t mean He promises everyone that. If He promised you a particular future, you can stand on that although it doesn’t make it doctrine for everyone.

I know a missionary called to minister in a place that requires lots of little plane trips. That place has mountains littered with crashed planes from meeting high mountains in sudden fog. He went to God and received the promise that for every going out there would be a return. He had two little boys he wanted to raise himself. God promised him he would survive his duty on that mission field. Isn’t a doctrine for everyone.

Perhaps that’s his special promise to you received in prayer seeking Him.

I understand what you say here....but can you explain how you become born again?

You know, there some, for example who were promised they would see the Messiah before they die. Doesn’t mean all living at the time received the same promise although they were living there. God does give special promises to some.

All accounts of repentance in the Bible were of individual sins. No one repented of a nature they were born with and no one preached they should do so. They were more often cut to the quick from their own sins, not a nature they couldn’t help. I know the theology but the Bible tells of those who repented and it seemed to be sins they actually did.

Wow, you really do not understand repentance and how one is born from above.
Do you belong to a church?

See your sin and repent asking for forgiveness from God which he grants based upon the blood of Jesus.

Agreed?

He comes to us differently doesn’t he DorothyMae....everybody has their own testimony.

I found Judges and Micaiah Imla testimony interesting.....

Praise God that we have him....in Jesus Name....Amen.....God Bless.x

Ps.i treasure my special relationship with God.

Sure. I have heard the voice of God since childhood and became saved as a child although no one preached the Gospel to me.

I have a passion for God Himself desiring to understand Him, by which I have gained some although it was personally expensive. I love those who oppose me and though I know what an insult is, I have love for them. I might not engage if I see it as useless at that point in time. I wish all my opponents well though.

My life goal for decades has been to know Him and make Him known. For this He requires obedience from me as He deems necessary. My battle is not against flesh and blood.

What else? I know the Bible better than most and quote it verbatim without telling the reader I’m doing so. This is to see who loves truth because it is true. It’s most interesting when some strongly disagree with a direct quote because they thinkI said it.

I’ll tell you anything you want to know, my dear.

I have never met a true believer who bypassed seeing their sin and repenting at some point. The differences are few at the cross. We cannot come because He offers a better life. We cannot come because we want to avoid the punishment for sin all the while retaining the freedom to sin. We must surrender. There is no other way to become saved without surrender.

Since when do we commit our salvation to him? Your side says it’s a gift and he doesn’t take it back so that doesn’t work. A gift is not given back although it can be lost.

If the Holy Ghost leaves, things change.

You, by the way, need to hold fast. He is not holding fast for you according to that verse.

When the Lord came into my Spirit I had no choice but to surrender.....I fell in Love.

In other areas of my life I pray to him that he helps me be obedient and surrender to his will.
The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak....he will shape and mould me...in Jesus Name...Amen.
The Holy Spirit can never leave a believers heart...that is my belief.

God Almighty has provided a way for us to be redeemed and to have an eternal saving relationship with Him by His Own initiative and all we have to do is to ACCEPT His gift. What a struggle it must be for those who insist we must "work" to keep that redemption. How struggling it must be for those who claim we have it but then can lose it if we don't work at it. That is not abundant life.

You place some on ignore because you have no answer to the scripture when presented in it's full weight

I read the subversion and denial of His work, His promises, His faithfulness to His adopted children, you make the CROSS necessary but not sufficient which is in direct opposition to the words of Christ Jesus.

I read the enthroning of self as the means of salvation.
It is worthy is the Lamb.... not worthy is the Lamb and me.

NOT EVEN when I was UNSAVED in my limited knowledge did I ever think that I had anything to add to the work of Christ... even then I knew HE had accomplished something I could never do.

I cannot express through words my utter contempt for your dogma, nor do I have the ability, thankfully, to comprehend such disdain for the work of Jesus on the cross.

Each day the tragedy of these false teachers who continually propagate, like the bad fruit they truly are..... is revealed ... dark days ahead.
She certainly does not respond to my posts and that's ok because I've heard her dogma many times and her put down of those of us who do not believe her.
