Peter didn’t preach “just accept his gift..no repentance of sin, no challenge to your wrong desires, no surrender...keep living as you like.”
I almost missed this one. There’s not one member here that ever suggested anything like this Dottie.

So you argument is they did but it’s not recorded??? You know that’s a logical fallacy, right? You also realize it can be then successfully argued that they preached you must endure to the end of your life to be saved or you will perish with the unbelievers, right? As soon as we can both submit our evidence based on what we assume they said, then all positions stand on the same ground.
If one reads 1 Peter and 1 John, they will realized that the 2 did preached about enduring to the end and they will be saved.

So you are correct.

Stone,

This is what she is preaching...just accept the gift...

God Almighty has provided a way for us to be redeemed and to have an eternal saving relationship with Him by His Own initiative and all we have to do is to ACCEPT His gift. What a struggle it must be for those who insist we must "work" to keep that redemption. How struggling it must be for those who claim we have it but then can lose it if we don't work at it. That is not abundant life.

They don’t read all of the Bible.
As I have said to you earlier, it is more that they insert Romans to Philemon into Hebrews to Revelations, and assumed that the author already knew everything about the mystery revelations given to Paul, before writing those letters.

Stone,

This is what she is preaching...just accept the gift...

Next time read the post the other answers:
I did just that. Salvation is a gift. She’s not wrong Dottie,

Rom 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

again:

Rom 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

The gift Himself is the Holy Ghost. I just wrote Ghost because the KJV states it. The truth of this in seen also in scripture.

Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

He is poured out on all who 1. Hear the Word preached- the good news of the gospel which is the reconciliation of God and man that was lost in the garden through Adam and Eve. 2. Believed on and repentance accompanies. Then individual giftings are imparted.

One must die from this realm of earth; an earthly being unable to receive anything of the heavenly where Father dwells: and be born into the realm of God. This is the action of the Cross, put to death with Him, and raised to resurrection life in Him.

An accomplishment only obtained by the work of God Himself. And only Paul was given this revelation.

He said that we were his witness of the work of a God of the gospel that he preached. Our lives prove it because we are radically changed from darkness to light and our lives reflect the new birth. Initially.

Then war breaks out and we begin to understand the value of the logos. We must fully understand the ministry of reconciliation, and testify of it.

We grow.....up. You are judging the work of God Dottie for we are His workmanship. Remember this verse? We are not our own, we’ve been bought with a price, therefore glorify God both in your Spirit and in your body which are Gods.

Some of us grow quickly and go on to other levels of grace. Others may stumble much...but are never left behind. Soldiers do this kind of caring for their wounded. For sin will wound and judgenpment cannot be anymore severe than what the one who sins puts on himself/herself. God leaves no one behind. He knows what to do for each one of us.

I believe that not understanding what we have been given in and through this great salvation causes much grief in His body. And divides what is supposed to be unity.

You want to know and understand? Do word studies. Topical word studies. Drink the milk then eat the meat of revelation.

Holy Spirit will bring unity then and true love for the brethren. And we will discern who is who. Then too...we will hear which way to go and be empowerEd to do.

If we all be about our Fathers business? What a glow of fiery light we will be to the world.

Sorry for the sermon...yet not.

Learn the true meanings of these words that we throw around. Start with “grace”.

12 verses stating what we will go through. Right now on my Facebook, I have christian brothers and sisters who are suffering because of this virus and the devastation of losing their source of income. I haven’t seen anyone rail against the Lord.

Am sure we all are being affected in some way.

We have our helper, comforter. And we know that we know we aren’t alone.

We also know who is the cause of suffering.

The branches which I believe that you have in mind where cut off , you know those like Judas , who followed Jesus but was not in Him , yes , those kind of branches do get cut off , superficial believers...

Amen! Greek scholar AT Robertson summed it up nicely. (y)

Two kinds of connections with Christ as the vine (the merely cosmic which bears no fruit, the spiritual and vital which bears fruit). The fruitless (not bearing fruit, mh peron karpon) the vine-dresser "takes away" (airei) or prunes away. Probably (Bernard) Jesus here refers to Judas...

They don’t read all of the Bible.
So far, no matter how many times you have the Bible, it seems the plan of salvation......where Jesus died for all sins past, present and future, where Jesus gives eternal life never to be revoked or foresaken a gift by grace through faith alone.....
has escaped YOUR understanding....why is that?

Yes I will.

If I continue in the faith grounded and settled.

Colossians 1:22-23
...to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled,
1. If you are sinless, you no longer need grace
2. if you are sinless. You no longer need God
3. if you are sinless. You have finished the race and no longer need to run
4. if you are sinless. You have surpassed the need to be justified.

She does not say what we do after we accept.

so you maam are taking her out of context and imputing something to her that she has never said

Looks like you missed the post that generated this.
There are many posts i wish I had had missed..... especially the ones where people boast in themselves, and their own piety, their own works, their own holiness, their own righteousness, how they repented of their sins yet placed no trust in a Saviour.

Yup those are posts that should be missed.

I suppose you can be right.

An ungodly spirit can come over you and blind you when you resist the plain passages that are contrary to OSAS. In fact, God himself probably sends that spirit to the one who will continue to resist the scriptures.

We need to try the spirits, whether they are of God (1 John 4:1).
No one here preaches licence for sin, to warrant such commentary. What do you imagine yourself to be man? How did it come down to us all tolerating bold blasphemy of the Holy Spirit such as this??? Please read what he responded to, a post describing being born again and sense of safety coming from deep relationship with Jesus. I will report any such posts I see in the future, just for his information so he doesn't say he hasn't been warned.

Hey...how about this truth....does it meet your EXPECTATION OF LOVE?

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
This Scripture says so much , and it reminds me that just because some people seem to have a niceness about them , does not mean they are correct with the gospel...

Do you love these verses? You do understand DOCTRINE CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT RIGHT????

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
And this one...
Flattery is so deceiving ...

It shows they have no recourse but to actually malign the Gospel.

They refuse full atonement for sin, full forgiveness for sin, full redemption for sin, the full grace of God to forgive all sin through propitiating death of His Son.... that is basically what they are maligning when they assert a "license to sin"

Think of this from their perspective.. they cannot tolerate that they have nothing to add to their salvation ... in actually it is not about us it is about their problem with God and His Plan of Salvation.

This is about their SELF WORTH, their pride, their need to prove themselves... so we become the sinners, desiring to sin so their righteousness can be held up high.

That is a person who has denied the Gospel.... accuse me of a license to sin.... I make not apologies for the implication that we are fully saved by Grace and all sin was dealt with at the cross.

I was saved at about 8 yrs of age. Which means I will be celebrating 50 yrs of salvation this yr.

It still amazes me that people confuse Salvation and Stewardship.

1. Salvation is by faith and is a free gift of of God in Christ that cannot be bought or earnt.

2. Stewardship is what we have done with our Christian life since we were saved that has glorified God.

Christians are judged not for salvation but stewardship and will either gain or lose eternal rewards according to their faithfulness as stewards.
