I’ve been making meaningless fights against truth just to stay in my comfort zone. I get stuck in denial for so long lying to myself saying, “I don’t need God to be satisfied,” “I can go to God later” just because I’m so selfish caring about my own sinful wants.

I feel stuck in this meaningless fight against truth, and I just feel so afraid of giving God all the control in life and give up wants.

I’m so used to not improving, I just try to stay so long in this comfort zone, how do I realize I need to get out and go to God? I keep confusing myself, and getting myself stuck not going to God.
How do I stop lying to myself for so long in denial to try to stay in my comfort zone?

God offers so much, and I just let myself die and sin to stay in this comfort zone and it’s making me lose my mind. I let so much time pass and I feel ashamed. Other Christians would seek God more, but I constantly try to keep my comfort zone in denial wasting so much time I worry I’m not a Christian and I start self loathing.

Michael,
Your post reminded me of the words: How can a young man keep his way pure? from Psa 199.9. Keep on hiding His word in ur heart, and let the Spirit of God work in u.

Will lift u up in prayer!

I have found that the 'comfort zone' is a delusion. More like a 'discomfort zone'.

Pray for God to break you out of the cage that you reside in so that you will become free to be the person that God meant for you to be.

That self-loathing is a sign that it is time for you to leave the comfort zone, get your head in the game, and start living the life that God intends for you to live. Your self-esteem will improve dramatically because you are now making a difference in the world in your service to the Lord in whatever form He choses it to take.

Personally, I never found myself in the comfort zone, for me it seemed more like the Twilight Zone. It's a dark, desolate place with depression lurking in the shadows with loneliness as your only friend. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Get out of there now.

it’s sounds like it’s not much of a comfortable zone fighting yourself.

What seems so comforting to me at first is just being able to live trying to please every desire I have, to leave the comfort zone would be to have faith and give up on that sinful life style for what really has meaning with God. I just feel so nervous giving my life in God’s hands though, living for myself is my comfort zone and it’s wrong of me to stay there.

I just worry so much of what would happen if I just give up my comfort zone, if I don’t please all the desires I have, and trust God instead, so I keep lying to myself not facing the truth, and I feel trapped in lies trying to be apathetic and ignore God to keep my comfort zone.

I don’t what to do to get out this confusion I got myself in.

Work on one thing at time one sin at time, God doesn’t always clear a path at once it may take a year or so.

Exodus 23
29I will not drive them out before you in a single year; otherwise the land would become desolate and wild animals would multiply against you. 30Little by little I will drive them out ahead of you, until you become fruitful and possess the land.

I will tell you your issue. You don’t believe God is good. You think His plans for your life fail in comparison to your current pleasures (thinking the life He has for you is lacking fulfillment when in fact it will give you the most fulfillment).

But I will tell you this, as God has often reminded me. He is good, and He is good to you. He has plans to prosper you, give you a hope and a future. Your mindset hasn’t taken to heart God’s truth. He loves you and is for you, not against you and He will never leave you nor forsake you. He works all things for your good.

The battle you face is trusting God.

Thank you for the reply!
How do I get myself to trust God like I should instead of trusting too much in my own eyes? I keep shutting out everything in my apathy and it’s hard to listen to God when that’s what would help.

Psalm 91, says that His truth is your shield and buckler. Read the word of God and let the Holy Spirit teach you. “Lord, as I read Your word open my eyes to what you would teach me today.” Get grounded in God’s truth. That’s the battle of the mind.

God will expose to you lies of the enemy and you can then “bathe” yourself in the truth, the washing of the Word of God.

If the enemy can get you to question who God says He is, and make God out to be an enemy, what relationship would you want with the Lord? What faith can you have in Him, or expectancy of His goodness? What hope do you have? It is a game of defamation. Find out who God is to you, in accordance with the truth and believe.

Remember this. He considers you His son. A child of God. You are God’s family and your Father (God) loves perfectly.
