Not sure , I mean Matthew was living a pretty good life money wise , protected by the romans...

Matthew 9:9
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

I have never pursued study on what they thought Messiah would do for them, other than what’s revealed plainly. That He would deliver them from persecution and that they would rule somehow.

Ive wondered to myself what my response would of been. Might be something to google. 💞.

Well now I have something to work with.
You had but to ask.
What does it mean to be "justified" because I cannot understand how it would be defined when you have this dogma that Christ has not paid for all your sins from the beginning of your life until your death?
-This might be foreign to you, but Christ forgave me and saved me so that I could walk with Him all the days of my life. This is what I have been doing for decades. My sins are forgiven as I am aware of them and repent. I ceased thinking about Heaven or salvation long ago except in terms of forgiveness and grace which He freely bestows. Thanks for asking. Please feel free to ask what you wish to know.

So you complain that we OSAS believers supposedly don’t talk about our relationship with God then state it’s fairly personal to do so. Yep, you’re a chick.
I’ve talked about it. But you can feel free. I assure you I won’t ridicule it.

I mean I am only thinking he was living a good life being a tax collector , not that I know he was :)...
But when Jesus said " Follow me " Matthew left everything and followed him , like Jesus`s call was irresistible to him , although we know Jesus chose him...

Let us be clear I give you bit of audience today because I feel so led, not because I am persuaded by your beliefs in any way shape or form and it is too hot now for yard work!! :(

First off you do realize your "awareness of sin" is very subjective .. many sins occur with barely a notice and they are still sins.

Second you have no means by which to be "right with God" on those sins... contrition for sins is not going to make them go away or give them a covering?

ok Dottie. I should of left the personal remark about your feelings out of the conversation. I’m sorry.
Since you won’t admit that I do not dislike Jews but still insist I do but you shouldn’t have mentioned it, I don’t know what you want of me. This is not an apology. It’s a “sorry I mentioned that you are an aweful person” sort of non-apology apology.

Doesn’t hurt my feelings Stone as we are not friends. But it does make your high sounding words rather empty. All that spirit and grace seems to mean you give yourself freedom to falsely slander others confident your are not wrong.

This just occurred to me Rosemary. Maybe it was just curiosity? Like could this be Him? Then being with Him just kept them there much like us? Where would we go? Only He has the words of eternal life, like Peter said...

Someday we will be able to ask Him. 😉. Maybe even watch on some kind of movie screen. Lol

Another hope dashed to pieces.. I’m kidding. That’s fine. I’m still quite grateful.

The Holy Spirit convicts me of sin and does it often. He is faithful and just and forgives me because of the blood of Jesus shed for me.

As I humble myself he grants grace. Do you believe I’ve experienced forgiveness?

There’s no way I can pull up the posts from that site and I’m not going to try to remember verbatim the exact words Dottie.

You talk about forgiveness a lot. Selah.

You refuse to admit you don’t know me better than I know me.

I have never in my life disliked Jews or any Jew. You refuse to admit your accusation is false. As I said, there are stubborn believers, even those who entertain malicious judgements falsely against another with no evidence.

Came from John Calvin in the 1500's an Ex Catholic redifining scripture....3 of the 5 tenents are not biblical...

Man has no choice in the matter

Grace cannot be resisted

God chose man A to be saved and man B he chose for hell
Fine, I have problems on both sides of the aisle Calvin and Arminius. :)

Stone, you likely WANT it to be true, that I dislike Jews. That’s the only reason you refuse that i can think of. You want it to be so.

So then the blood was shed for those sins at the cross... but just forgiveness was not granted is that what you are stating?
