its fake because anyone can stand up in that crowd and start making the babbel sounds. walking on water, i real gift, can not be faked.

and if you hear it word for word in your mind it makes no sense to speak it in a nonesense babbel sound that can be understood by no one. you guys can never explain that.
you guys claim its a "mystery" language not of this world because of the "angel language" phrase used by Paul yet no angel in the bible ever used this language, the Father never used this language when speaking to the prophets, Jesus, the Fathers anointed never used this language. if this is some special "divine" language why did no one ever use it?
and IMO the biggist issue with this, it serves no purpose, angels dont need it to speak to us, and the Father can understand us just fine when we speak to him in our common language. if you ask the Father for a drink of water in the "angel" language, its the exact same thing as asking the Father for a drink of water in your common language. your getting a drink of water either way. unless you can show that the water received is somehow different when asked for in the angel language, there is no point to this idea.
Many in churches are fake christians.

Therefore all christianity is fake

And with respect, I think you're dodging. You can answer the question without knowing anything further. You have the text; what does it tell you?
I have never understood the wasted time of cessationists.
Hours wasted on what is happening on the other side of the fence.
It reminds me of the atheist all flustered on ,as they believe,a nonexistent entity.

Poor choice of battle.

Basically fear based created crisis.

a baseball player actually knows how to play baseball. in the tongue speaking world anyone can go out and fake playing pro ball just as anyone can go out and make the babbel sounds. making babbel sounds is not divine power from the heavens.
....all the while you act out the analogy perfectly

That reminds me of the late Christopher Hitchens, who hated with passion the God in whom he didn't believe. o_O

the Father sent messages to people all throughout the bible, why did He all of a sudden change this procedure into the spirit language? did He change His mind on how He sends messages?
Paul schooled us on the procedure, didn't you get the scripture ?

I agree but when you add to what is taught in the bible you create problems. If you spoke a tongue and everyone regardless of their tongue heard and understood what you spoke it would be terrific.

Even though most here speak English we cannot agree on what the words mean. Some see tongues as languages and others see tongues as ecstatic utterances. Some even go so far as to claim angelic languages.

Clear evidence that the judgment of God given at the tower of Babel is still in effect.

For the cause of Christ

And I say God fixed it perfectly from the confusion He declared at Babel, I'm not confused ..

im not trying to school the Most High, i fully accept the way He has always done things. if someone, like you, is gonna try and tell me the Father all of a sudden changed, i want to know why.

you gave no answer, you said Paul taught procedure, which isn't an answer, its more like a random statement.

so again, third time now, why did the Father change the way He communicates with us?

I asked you a question directly related to the post to which it originally responded. You did not answer it then, and you still have not answered it. I'll maintain my physical distance and not hold your hand through this simple exercise.

LOL, You're the one who mentioned procedure first in 158 .. And how do you suppose the prophets who wrote the Bible heard God in the Spirit ? Do you think it was exact and word for word or were they hearing babble .. I think they heard with their Spirit like an interpreter of tongues hears word for word in their spiritual ears, no mistakes .. As for your repeated same questions , you answer them your way anyway ..

Honestly I don't understand why out of all the gifts tongues is the most sought after

The very true Language of the Gift of Tongues confuses Demonic Powers. Outside of Edifying God, Tongues is best used in Spiritual Warfare. This is the main reason for those who have been given the frontline Gift when Prayer is for needs, miracles, demonic possession, battle.

The Adversary cannot understand the true Gift of Tongues, but he recognizes it before any other human language.

With regard to so called 'early church fathers', it is not correct to state there is no record of any of them speaking in unknown languages.

A.D. 100 - Eusebius (Church Historian):
Writing to the preaching evangelists who were yet living, Eusebius says: "Of those that flourished in these times, Quadratus is said to have been distinguished for his prophetical gifts. There were many others, also, noted in these times who held rank in the apostolic succession... the Holy Spirit also wrought many wonders as yet through them, so that as the Gospel was heard, men in crowds voluntarily and eagerly embraced the true faith with their whole minds."

A.D. 115-202 - Irenaeus:
Irenaeus was a pupil of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John. He wrote in his book "Against Heresies", Book V, vi.: "In like manner do we also hear many brethren in the church who possess prophetic gifts, and who through the Spirit speak all kinds of languages, and bring to light, for the general benefit, the hidden things of men and declare the mysteries of God, who also the apostles term spiritual."

A.D. 300 - The Early Martyrs:
The early martyrs enjoyed these gifts. Dean Ferrar, in his book "Darkness to Dawn" states: "Even for the minutest allusions and particulars I have contemporary authority." He refers to the persecuted Christians in Rome singing and speaking in unknown tongues.

A.D. 390 - Chrysostom of Constantinople:
Chrysostom, Bishop of Constantinople, writes: "Whoever was baptised in apostolic days, he straightway spoke with tongues, for since on their coming over from idols, without any clear knowledge or training in the Scriptures, they at once received the Spirit, not that they saw the Spirit, for He is invisible, but God's grace bestowed some sensible proof of His energy, and one straightway spoke in the Persian language, another in the Roman, another in the Indian, another in some other tongues, and this made manifest to them that were without that it was the Spirit in the very person speaking. Wherefore the apostle calls it the manifestation of the Spirit which is given to every man to profit withal."

A.D. 400 - Augustine of Hippo:
Augustine, Bishop of Hippo, one of the four great fathers of the Latin Church and considered the greatest of them all: "We still do what the apostles did when they laid hands on the Samaritans and called down the Holy Spirit on them in the laying-on of hands. It is expected that converts should speak with new tongues."

There is a list that goes from John's Disciple Polycarp to the 1900 events.

How do we know the enemy can't understand it though?

This is the same Spirit as Tongues and just about all Born Again Christians have experienced it in deep prayer, haven't you ?
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Excellent question!

Romans 8:
26 Now, similarly, the spirit also is aiding our infirmity, for what we should be praying for, to accord with what must be, we are not aware, but the spirit itself is pleading for us with inarticulate groanings."
27 Now He Who is searching the hearts is aware what is the disposition of the spirit, for in accord with God is it pleading for the saints."

Verse 26 explains sometimes we don't know what we should be praying for and the Holy Spirit gives us the groaning (Speaking in Tongues) to pray with.

Verse 27 explains that those Spoken Tongues are understood by God so God is able to honor the prayer.

In other words, if we are with someone possessed and casting the Demon(s) out, the Holy Spirit gives us the Prayer Language to use that God can understand to force the Demon(s) out.
^
That tells us ONLY GOD knows what is being said in Tongues. Which means the Devil does not understand it :)

All the time actually, I didn't even know it was tongues until recently but yeah there things I try to express to him words in our intimate times together but the human tongue can't express it there is just no words so my heart speaks for me.
It difficult to describe really, like when I try to express to him the level and depth of my love and affection for him it is like the words love and affection are not even what is being described like an entirely different word or feeling all together.

I suppose that would explain why the enemy can't understand it, he may be able to know our thoughts as he tries to penetraite my mind with doubt fear and my greatest weakness self worth but he has never been able to affect what I speak in my heart
