I knew God Loved me on the night of my salvation...my heart was overflowing in his Love.....
You miss the point I was trying to make.

You may have known that.

But the truth is others do not.

That's the point I was trying to make.

Your response has made sad.

Well.....I’m sorry if it made you sad....I didn’t know that was your point....I thought all born again know that God Loves them.

Am I on the naughty step now....oh dear.

Never on the naughty step, that is not my style.

Truth is that not everyone experiences the same love you felt as you say.
One has to ask the question what love is it?

As a person who walks with people as part of ministry trust me they bring an awful lot of baggage when saved.

Yes they know God loves them but when professing faith the baggage gets in the way.

I'm spending time with a person who is really messed up.

I ask him "Do you love God? He says yes.
I ask him "do you believe God loves you?
He says no.

The reason being as a result of severe sexual abuse he feels he is not loved and dirty and as a result he believes it was fault and he was the sinner.

Then we find "If God really loved me why did this happen?

I am amazed at two things

1. The total lack of honesty by some on here when it comes to saying ADAM KNOWING EVE HIS WIFE and conceiving Cain was not a sexual reference

2. The backpeddling and twist of words while mouthing our reading skills.....par for the course with more than a few on here!

Agree, just own up to it..... it was way off and a horrible comparison.

Did you cit the verses out of your bible where Paul told Timothy to TEACH faithful men who in turn would teach Faithful men etc...

Or maybe God adding to the assembly .......teaching pastors....

Or pay heed to those whom God has given the oversight.....

How shall they hear unless one be sent

or...........

You just devalued MANY inspired verses!!
Did you forget that when even Jesus was speaking, He said, “Whoever has an ear to hear what the SPIRIT Is saying,”.........

Here. (<- link) Just to show how the original post seemed to equate sexual intimacy with God knowing us intimately.

Depends what your definition of intimacy is.

To me it doesn’t mean sexual.....but I can see why others read what they did into sackcloth post....Adam knew eve intimately..well...I guess that does kinda sound like sexually.

To produce children? How else is it to be read? Children are produced through the intimacy of sexual intercourse.

I knew what you were trying to communicate and was not offended (taking it as a sexual thing).

But I can understand the reaction of the offended.

Intimate carries the idea of a sexual nature.

It's probably best not to use the word intimate when describing the relationship between man and God.

Intimate is word that will take its meaning from the context, it was clearly a sexual reference in context.

In and of itself it means "close" "familiar"

I never saw it that way,,,,so we will have to agree to disagree..
Did you look? Click the link I gave and see for yourself.

"... Him knowing us intimately. Just as Adam knew Eve and she conceived Cain." <- from the post in question.

It is kind of hard to miss.

One of the reasons I don't use the King James is because of this kind of archaic language. As I posted above, newer (and better) translations don't create euphemisms, so the meaning is clear.

The NIV, for example, says, "Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. " The meaning is obvious; there is no unscriptural euphemism.

Yes I understand, and always good to look at different versions, however the reference to her having Cain in context of that post I think

makes it clear that is was "sexual" reference.

Amen he sure does. Tuth is that an awful lot of belivers don't know this or believe it. Even though they may have been told this.

I have lost count of how many people who I have said to them "You know God loves you don't you? They say "No I don't"

Then I say to them "Jesus said that God loves you as much as he loves Jesus do you believe that?

They say no.

Then I quote the following

John 17:23
23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

Very sad that even after telling them that they still don't get it.

There is a disconnect, not from Gods side. If not why the disconnect?
Probably it is due to the plain fact that is written to those Christ has redeemed, not the world at large. That's the disconnect.

True, but the KJV doesn't say that explicitly. One shouldn't have to "read between the lines" anywhere in Scripture, as it often leads to misinterpretations.

Of course the Holy Spirit reveals truth but this happens through study and learning from others.

Without a teacher you have no one to correct or guide you and that can lead to a lot of problems. The Holy Spirit works through people as well.

Ephesians 4:11-16 King James Version (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
