For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Hebrews 26-31 explains why.
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Can born again Christians be enemies of God, or are we now His children, growing and being perfected/sanctified in Him?

Which is exactly why we should stay in Christ Jesus!

"14Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, f Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess." - Hebrews 4:14

"23Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." - Hebrews 10:23
I trust in Him to hold me. Is it just me?:giggle::geek: I cannot imagine forsaking/walking away from my faith.

It’s an intimate relationship. No, there isn’t any intercourse at all
Yes, there is intercourse. God plants his seed in us the prostitute and we become his and bear fruit in his image.
Read the story of Judah and Tamar, the gospel story in disguise in Genesis 38:15-30.

I can hear the shrieks and gasps now, lol. :)

In that story, Judah was a liar, cheater, fornicator, and deceiver :geek:

Adam is a type of Christ, so why can't Judah and Tamar be a type of Christ and the church?
I know this is not going to be accepted well. This depth of teaching has been lost to the church.
I just ask that you consider the truth it contains.

Agree your understanding of OSAS is flawed.

Where does the acronym state sin all you want?

Saved by grace through faith, not works (Ephesians 2:8,9) is not merit based salvation.
That's because the text you quoted is all God, all grace, denies deeds or any action of man as the basis of election unto salvation. Foreseen action on the part of man causing God to elect unto salvation is merit. If we added into the text "because God saw you would choose him" then it negates grace.

Yes, by trampling on the blood by which they were sanctified. That's what the passage plainly says.
I know this won't be received by the church. We have been told over and over and over that these words can not mean what they plainly say.

Fallen man must choose to believe the Gospel. God does not make anyone believe.
Fallen man can't believe the Gospel, it is impossible for fallen man to do so, note Romans 8:5-8. Faith comes from God.

Not choosing, faith. 2 Peter 1:1.

"He" not "they" is what the text says. The "he" who is sanctified there is Christ.

Good morning.
We may disagree on the salvation aspects of Calvinism, but it defends the necessity for continued believing and holy living which I feel is the important thing to stress in this present time in the church. We are in agreement in that regard.
The gross error of Freegrace doctrine must be exposed.

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Those truly converted will not fail to believe.

What is the error of Freegrace you are referring to exactly?

That trust is what keeps you in Christ.
And I'm with you.....I can't imagine anyone forsaking/walking away from faith in Christ. But I know people do. I also know it has a lot to do with how deep the word is entrenched, and bearing fruit in a person's heart.

To deny Him would be to deny the most profound, life altering experiences I have had in my life.

It would be akin to committing suicide

Interesting then that Jesus instructed the people to believe........

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
John 6:29

but then Paul came along and told his listeners they could not believe and denied the words of Jesus?

Rom 5:15-21:)
"...Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come." - Romans 5:14

Boy, if Adam can be a pattern of the one to come (Jesus), Judah is definitely that!
Consider the points of the story of Judah and Tamar and how they represent the pattern of Christ; the planting of the seed, the giving of a pledge, the transference of righteousness, the birth of the 'twins'. Good stuff for struggling pastors looking for sermon material!
