Everything in the Law of Moses signified spiritual and eternal truths. So these were all types and shadows of realities in Heaven. The ultimate reality is Christ.

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. (Hebrews 8:5).

I never looked at anything but the animals. All were under the age of 3 and the reason is because they do not act fully in their nature until then. Innocence.

Just looked at oil and fine flour.

Something is stripped off for “fine” flour. And for oil; shine.

Nm) Nms% (Nms% Sh-MN) - Oil: Usually olive oil and used as a medicinal ointment. Also meaning fat or rich. [freq. 203] |kjv: oil, ointment, olive, oiled, fat, things, plenteous, lusty| {H8081, H8082}

Just a quick look.

I don’t do these lengthy searches like I used to.

But why so many specific details about weights and measurements of each offering etc. and by whom in Numbers 7?

Nothing in Old Testament worship was to be done haphazardly, in order to show that God is a God of order. Hence all the meticulous details (and we may only know the true significance in eternity). Paul reflects that same thought in the New Testament: Let all things be done decently and in order. (1 Cor 14:40)

Everything in the universe is based upon orderliness, and all the natural laws are there to operate without fail. One could say that God is the divine Mathematician, and mathematics is embedded in every aspect of the universe. Thus when we come to spiritual things, weights and measures become a part of OT worship. The Holy of Holies was an exact cube, and so is the New Jerusalem. Both the tabernacle and the temple were constructed according to specific dimensions.

In some way or other....all these things have been fulfilled in Jesus. That’s what we should search to see.

The flour and oil used were flour and oil as God created them, not changed by removing any part of it as in white flour or oil that was manufactured as we do today but simply pressed. We are not to change what God gives us.

My understanding is God was testing the obedience of the Israelites with very specific instructions.
The children of Israel, while they were in the wilderness, were disobedient, and by their disobedience salvation was gained by the nations.

Had they been perfect, they would be the only saved.

I think they refer to things we have in our lives and have certain symbolic meanings for example oil is the holy spirit, animals are required as sacrifices by law and bread can be teaching, etc There is a reason for everything in the bible, and God has to be clear and be understanding of reality and his word respects that.

True. But their higher spiritual meaning is what Christians must understand.

FINE FLOUR: it is produced by the grinding of wheat. It represents the perfect obedience of Christ, who *learned* obedience through suffering. Christ suffered daily, and supremely in His Passion and crucifixion.

OIL: represents the Holy Spirit. The oil in the menorah in the tabernacle/temple gave light within the Holy Place. It is the Holy Spirit who enlightens believers and reveals God's truth, which is light to the soul.

But they were saved. God kept them in sleep when they used the system he set up for them properly, we know because Matthew told us in 27:52-53 they walked the streets of Jerusalem when Christ died on the cross.

Christ fulfilled the sacrificial system. It was a picture of what Christ does for us and we are told to study it. When used as a symbol of the blood God gave for our salvation on the altar rather than feeding the Lord blood as pagans did it worked for preserving their souls until Christ was crucified. See Matthew 27:52-53.
