True. But it goes much deeper and broader than that.
2020 was an extremely critical year for the survival of America as a country. For the last three years (actually for the last 11 years) the enemies of America had been working day and night to destroy it. Yet those charged with the responsibility of protecting the USA from enemies -- domestic and foreign -- have totally failed to fulfil that responsibility.
So on January 1, 2020 the USA was ripe for a takedown, and that is exactly what happened. The past six months have shown that the enemies of America have gained the upper hand, while no one has come forward to deal with the lawlessness, violence, insurrection, sedition, and treason which is rampant from coast-to-coast. The COVID-19 Pandemic Scam was designed to bring America to its knees, and that is exactly what has happened. Totalitarianism has been fully established. Therefore it appears that those who hate America, its Constitution, the rule of law, and the freedoms guaranteed under the Bill of Rights, will succeed in their nefarious goals.
However, this scenario did not develop overnight. Ever since 9/11 the US needed a federal government totally committed to protecting American citizens and American values (as stated in the Constitution and the laws of the land). But all the Democrats, and almost all the Republicans, turned into traitors, and put the interests of the enemies ahead of the interests of actual legal and law-abiding citizens. And the Deep State took the government captive.
The ones who should be protecting their own country hate it. And Mr. Trump essentially sabotaged himself and also allowed himself to be sabotaged. Had he chosen his advisors and appointees with extreme care -- right from the start -- things could have turned out differently. Leftist bullies only understand one language -- a show of unrelenting force within the powers granted to a president. And that did not happen. Now the bullies call the shots.

The war is far from over. Worst case scenario, the liberals fear the very things they have desperately tried to take for the last century. Guns. The civilian population far outweighs the police and military combined. Not even counting the fact that the police and military do not 100% hold the same radical beliefs. As in 61% of Veterans voted for Trump and 34% Hillary. While active-duty voted 50% Hillary and 45% Trump. But we also have to account for the even smaller percentage of boots on the ground actually trained soldiers. Who are typically male (males by higher percentage vote conservative) and by the percentage the majority of active duty is white by population and white males statistically vote conservative. A retired navy seal could easily turn a group of grassroots militia into a force to be reckoned with.
Back to guns. The conservative right owns the most guns and probably the data is nowhere close to the actual percent as many Americans have guns that are no longer with the original buyer and lost in circulation. Most gun and ammo manufactures hold traditional values.

The radical left fears the possibility that just as the riots easily overwhelmed the police and locked down cities, the same could easily happen if the Patriots get ticked off enough where they have no other choice than the alternative to fighting is slavery, death, and destruction of America. Nothing to lose but everything to gain is absolutely a powerful motivator.
Hopefully, God will spiritually act and change even more of the population's hearts and minds to see the truth in the reality at hand. And by God's divine mercy we can move past an awful outcome.

Strange thing has happened to us. There has been a crash of the stock market. We have record unemployment. Toilet paper has been scarce from time to time. We've been home bound, allowed to go shopping, and told to wear masks wherever we go. Many more crazy things that should have collapsed my retirement finances.
Yet, our retirement is just as sound as it was in 2019. In fact, it has continued to increase at a faster pace.
God has truly blessed us.
