The lies people believe and speak are useful.
In trying to silence a thing you end up pushing it back into the fellowship where it can grow like wildfire.
Best to consider false teachings that someone brings opportunities to tear down spiritual strongholds publicly.
We must consider that many people may be thinking the very same lie but will never speak it and be corrected.
Do you invite the one teaching falsehoods to the pulpit and let them teach all they have to say so you can tear it apart?
Perhaps if it is not only false but foolish, you could have a well trained child take it apart for you and you can just stand there and back them up in case they need a little help. More shame for wolf and his lies that way to be defeated by a child among the children of God.
Should we consider false teachings a useful opportunity to train up the little ones, to teach them to tear apart their prey. (lies)
Opportunity for all of us to keep our steel sharp.
Each Church seems to be full of rusty swords and one or two very well worn out ones.
I think Christians especially those in leadership should welcome people speaking what is false in the Church.
I would consider it a true equipping of the saints to deal with those things.
It might even be useful to have Church members who once believe something was of God and learned that it was not to argue on behalf of what they once believed to see how much of the Church says AMEN only to turn it around at the end and expose it.
I expect it would take faith in the holy spirit to bring what you think is right to victory in the eyes of the Church.
I also think it would open the door to the place of the prophets of today to bring the needed correction to the Church.
After all we are still far from perfect as a body and need both correction and challenge to cause us to grow and keep us strong and sharp.
Of course give it some good structure and let everybody know that it is something you will be doing from time to time.
Ask for volunteers to present teachings that they think the Church needs to consider. That alone may surprise you.
Granted after the babies head off to children's services and the new believers to new children of God discipleship would be best.
I know it was more like this during Jesus day, more like how the Jews used to teach before the Roman influence changed the Church.
Do we take a few steps toward our Christian roots?
It might be messier and upset the apple cart of a few until we get the hang of it.
But if it equips the saints better for what is about to come, is tat not the that the measure of success.
If getting to that success gets a bit little messy is it not will work it?
in my opinion such a path for Church leadership is about trusting in the Spirit of God above yourselves.
What to you think?
I wanted to add a poll but forgot.
If you could just give it a thumbs up or down I would appreciate it thanks
