I don't understand your 'tongues'
Sorry, Is the bible its own dictionary and does it as it is written define the words as thoughts of God written in it?

It was not about tongues or different translations but the "manner of spirit". the kind that can cause discourse flesh and blood against or where sparks fly.

How can we hear God not seen? Most translations preach the gospel successfully .If God applies his Spirit as the teacher many beleive . We can plant or water with the doctrines of God . . he does the teaching and growing if any. To say we are limited to one translation becomes a works righteousness, self edifying.

It could be a sign a person is not walking by faith? Therefore having that faith in respect to their favorite author, taking away the authority of the Holy Spirit who is fully capable of preserving the gospel through the many different ways or the oral traditions of men. Its the oral traditions of corrupted mankind that makes Christ's faith without effect. They having their own foundation based on "out of sight out of mind." . atheism, paganism
Incoherent blather.

say garee,

you're a great Christian brother with interesting ideas and I sense that you really want to contribute.

I mean this gently:
much of what you write doesn't make sense to most people.

are you aware of this?

I agree that humans don't have the power to limit God's word.

10. For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn`t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

11. so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

(Isaiah, 55)

but this simply brings the question:

are the phrases

God's word

or

the word of God

synonymous with the kjv?

1. Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

2. in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.

(Luke, 3)

did the KJV come to John in the wilderness?

did the entire Bible we have today come to him?

Dan, my answer to your first question:

The word of God is indeed the King James Holy Bible. All the words and phrases in the King James Holy Bible are the very word of God.

My answer to your 2nd question:

The answer is two fold. The spoken, eternal word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And since the King James Holy Bible has always existed in its spiritual form and divine nature, it also came to John in the wilderness, even though the King James Holy Bible was not yet manifested in time. Why? Because the King James Holy Bible is both the Spoken and the written word of God. That which already is in eternity manifests so in time. Once again, the King James Bible has always existed. It is the perfect and eternal word of God. Remember Dan, the word of God has two natures, just as Jesus had two natures. It has a Human and a Divine Nature. While the King James Bible was not around in written form during the time of Jesus and John the Son of Zacharias, yet though, it was already in existence in its Divine and Eternal Nature. And so once again, Dan, since The King James Bible is both the written and the Spoken word of God, when the Spoken word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias, it can also be concluded that the King James Bible came unto John, even though the King James Bible (in its written form) had not been revealed in time yet.

big picture:

is the KJV, word for word, God's word?

Yes, the King James Bible is God’s word, word for word.

Because Both Jesus and the Scripture testify to this very important truth that we must have every word of God. That we are to live by every word of God:

Jesus the Word of God testifies to this truth:

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 4:3-4
And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. {4} And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

The Holy Scripture (the word of God) also testifies of this:

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Now Dan, if you are thinking the following “but those verses do not explicitly say that it is the King James Bible”

Well Then this is my simple response. They don’t have to explicitly say it is the King James Bible. In other words, this fact and truth that the King James Holy Bible is indeed the very word of God comes by logic, examination, sound reasoning and deduction. When you seriously examine the evidence and deduce and reason these things out regarding the Bible Version Issue, you can then with God's grace, draw a logical conclusion that the King James Bible is the very word of God. There are some truths that God does not explicitly name or even spell out in His holy word. But He gives us enough light, revelation and evidence to where we can then study diligently, deduce and come to a sound and logical conclusion that the King James Holy Bible is in fact the very pure, inerrant, infallible, and eternal word of God.

God expects us to use the very mind and brain that He has given us. He expects us to think, and reason and deduce and examine these things. This also is why He commands us to study:

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Also Dan, my question to you would be, if you do not believe that the King James Bible is word of God (word for word), then which Translation do you believe is the word of God (word for word)?

Your god is too small; you consider him unable to use any version of Scripture.
My God is a God of Order. And He is also a God that hates every false way. God uses and blesses that which hath proceeded from Him.

The modern translations which are based on the corrupt Sinaiticus and Vaticanus texts have no life in them. For they did not proceed from Him.

On the other hand, the King James Holy Bible did proceed forth from God, that is why it is living. It is Quick and Powerful.

Modern versions such as the NIV, ESV, CEV, the Message, etc. are Dead and dull.

Yes, as given in the KJV. No other version defines itself.

All versions define the private interpretations (commentaries of the men) as personal paraphrases . . None come directly from the mouth of God who moves men without some kind of error . The gospel of grace is made clear in most. How men hear is the difference.

Words matter, not paraphrases. You need the correct words to compare words. That's how true bible study is done. That's how the KJV defines itself.

Is there no end to your empty opinions? Do you have anything that isn't opinion to offer?

That's one component of Bible study, among many. Every book of significant length 'defines itself'.

How would you know, since you don't read any other version? More empty opinion.
I have compare other versions and they use different words within the same version which makes it difficult to compare scripture to scripture. Individual words and phrases are helpful to compare in regards to where in the Bible the same word or phrase is located.

Like "kill" and "murder", as the KJV does?

Your argument is empty. Move on.

Again, from the 1611 Preface:

For is the kingdom of God become words or syllables? Why should we be in bondage to them, if we may be free?

You're going in circles, as usual. You have no substantive argument for your opinion that the KJV has the correct words. You just have opinion upon pretext upon saying upon opinion, none of it with any weight. Only the simple-minded are swayed by such bafflegab.

Amen! It’s the simple minded that believe, but the scholarly mind is convinced that he is his own final authority. 😉

So the 54 scholarly-minded translators of the KJV were convinced of their own authority.

Keep posting silly arguments, and I'll keep shredding them.

How refreshing it is to know I hold the preserved completed word of God in my hands!
