How does someone receive salvation??
1. Hear
2. Believe
3. Repent
4. Confess
5. Baptism

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"
Romans 10:14

Step 1 Hear
"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ."
Romans 10:17

First a person has to hear the word of God as this is where a person gets faith. A person's faith increases as he or she gets to know God from studying the Bible. By getting to know God, you begin to build a level of trust with God.

Step 2 Believe
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Then you must believe that Jesus came to Earth and lived a sinless life, died for our sins, resurrected and now sits at the right hand of God.

3. Repentance
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:36-38

A person must decide to repent of their sins.

4. Confess

As the scripture above also states that a person must confess that Jesus will now be the Lord of their life.

5. Baptism

At the point of Baptism a person is forgiven of their sins. The one thing that separates us from God. That is also the point in time we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Throughout the process a person is being made into a disciple.

Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This process is repeated throughout the book of Acts. Would love to hear some feedback and get a discussion going.

You are not rightly dividing the word of truth there, mixing up both Israel's program together with the program for the Body of Christ.

Our salvation doctrine now is found in Paul's letters, 1 Cor 15:1-4 is the clearest. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again for your justification.

That is all that is required for salvation now.

The letters Paul wrote were directed to people who already were disciples as he is sending this letter to the church in Corinth. The gospel he preaches is the one that was taught to him at his point of conversion that we read in Acts 9. Even Paul had to get baptized. Then he immediately went to preach.

thoughts?

This sounds like the Campbellite 5 step plan of salvation. Do you attend the church of Christ?

Paul was revealed the new mystery only after his conversion. He went to Arabia as stated in Galatians 1, which was mostly likely the location and time God revealed to him that mystery

When Ananias baptised him, as far as Ananias was concerned, the law was still in effect at acts 9

Do understand the meaning of John 3:16 through the eyes of God or through human reasoning. What is eternal life to you? Most people say it is to live forever. This is not the definition of eternal life as Christ explained it. If you what it is then your understanding would be perfected in Christ.

IF #5: Baptism is referring to the baptism of the Holy Spirit and NOT water baptism........then, ok...........IF it is referring to water baptism, then, well............yeah............not so much

5. Baptism

At the point of Baptism a person is forgiven of their sins. The one thing that separates us from God. That is also the point in time we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Wrong........just so wrong........but, you are not alone. Many have the same misunderstanding of salvation.

Receiving the "indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit" does not always come at the time of salvation. Baptism of the Holy
Spirit does........................The two are not the same.

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

The gospel he preaches is the one that was taught to him at his point of conversion that we read in Acts 9. Even Paul had to get baptized. Then he immediately went to preach.

thoughts?
Acts 15:19-21
19 “And so my judgment is that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
20 Instead, we should write and tell them to abstain from eating food offered to idols, from sexual immorality, from eating the meat of strangled animals, and from consuming blood.
21 For these laws of Moses have been preached in Jewish synagogues in every city on every Sabbath for many generations.”

Can't see baptism here.

1 Corinthians 1:17
17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.

1 Corinthians 8:4-6
4 So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.
5 There may be so-called gods both in heaven and on earth, and some people actually worship many gods and many lords.
6 But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.

Romans 10:8-13
8 In fact, it says,
“The message is very close at hand;
it is on your lips and in your heart.”
And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

This is a false message for today . The mistake your making is on looking to Acts 'of the Apostles for salvation for the church age . You failed to quote 1cor 15 .1-4 which tells us what the Gospel is today . Acts 2.38 is to Israel following on from John the baptist message . No where are we told to repent of our sins or be baptised for the remission of sins in Pauls letters. That was following Johns message
Romans would mention this if that was the case ..Romans is all about how we are saved not Acts ,which is a description and historical about the transitional changes from OT to NT and Jews to Gentiles transitions .
Paul recieves the Gosepl of Grace first not Peter .

You can't 'mix up' what is the same. We are told that Christ is the fulfillment of what is told of Him in the OT, they are the same. What you are doing is pulling apart a whole. God gave blood on the altar for the atonement of the soul the minute the soul was lost through Adam. See Lev. 17:11.

You are reporting that there is a change in the Lord, and scripture tells us God is eternal, the same always. God never gives us one message today and then changes His mind and gives another message tomorrow. God blessed Israel for the work God gave them to do, but not as a different class of human.

The Lord kept telling Israel that He was speaking to them AND the strangers and sojourners among you. Look up stranger and sojourner in you concordance to check on my reporting.

A Change in the Lord ? Did I say anything about His nature or attributes? Gods message of salvation to Noah was " Go build an Ark " . For Israel it was apply the blood on the door posts . And look who Peter is speaking to in Acts 2.38 . Acts 2 .55¶And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Acts 2.3636¶Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
It's Jews and converts to Jews . The message is following John's message prior . It's not a church age mesaage. Hence why Paul says what he says in 1.cor 15 .
1¶Moreover, brethren, I declare the gospel, which I preached unto you which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2by which ye are also saved if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3¶For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

You are looking at the trees and not seeing the forest. The basic message of all scripture is to give our sins to Christ for forgiveness. Every other command relates to that. You could say God's message to you is to love your neighbor, but that does not bring you salvation. God's basic message in the OT was the exact message we have in the new. In the OT they were to use the symbolic blood of Christ until Christ came in the flesh, that blood was for the forgiveness of sin. The only difference is that in the instructions in the OT each sin was classified including the sin they were not aware of. Their salvation was in sleep, Christ fulfilled it and now our salvation is in eternal life.

Please study scripture before you tell others what you think it tells us so you report the truth of the word.

God required circumcision in the past (Genesis 17:14, Exodus 12:48, Acts 15:1) for one to remain in covenant with him.

Do you think he has changed from that requirement?

God required circumcision in the past (Genesis 17:14, Exodus 12:48, Acts 15:1) for one to remain in covenant with him.

Do you think he has changed from that requirement?
God still requires circumcision of our heart.

When the Christian church council met they explained to Paul that God does not require that you follow Jewish customs and rituals to be accepted by those whose God is the one true God. That does not change the way of the Lord that is love.

Circumcision of the heart is of love and does not change. The command to cut foreskin as a sign of circumcision that was given to help the unruly mob that escaped slavery in Egypt understand God's ways. Now we are given the Holy Spirit to guide us as those laws were given for guidance, and to obey them instead of listening to God's voice we are given is to deny the Holy Spirit within us.

We are to follow scripture.
