Whenever I've spent a little too much time in deep thought or we've had a lot of serious threads, I like to post one that's a bit more lighthearted. :) Since I love to cook and I know some of you do as well, what meal would you prepare for your dream date?

If you don't like to cook, what meal would you like your dream date to prepare for you?

i would cook something simple

Chicken Breast Filet or Steak + Potatoes or Noodles + Garden salad or any Summer Salad ,and to drink : any juice :D
Desert: Home made cake + Tea or Coffee

I don't mind what he cooks for me, it has to taste yummie . He has to surprise me ;)

Call me crazy.. but I think cooking together would be amazing. Then there end up being so many disasters in the kitchen that you have to get take out. Creates lots of laughs and really lets personality shine through. :)

I would prepare lasagna and a salad. I love cooking and I don't use recipes. So my food never reallytastes the same twice cause i'm always tweeking something

Homemade pizza that I do almost every weekend. :D

My upcoming first date though, is making and decorating cheesecakes for a friend's wedding. haha It's gonna be fun!

Totally agree. Lasange and salad is my comfort food and it looks great. I like to put a bit of turmeric in my white sauce for the lasange. I always get asked "How did you make it that yellow colour and what is that interesting taste?.."

Thrown in some lemon mennorand pie, or cheese cake, and you would be my idea date.

Blackened Salmon, rice and asparagus with homemade hollandaise. It is always a winner :) Or if they don't like fish I will do Hawaiian Chicken. It is really easy and really good. (You have to use fresh pineapple with the chicken)

Billy, that sounds fantastic! Well, minus the fish. Save the rice for another meal. Asparagus stinks. Leave out the chicken and sauce.

AHA! PERFECT!

Fresh pineapple. ;)

After leaving college I moved back home to live with my family and help out for a while, and it only took a few weeks before I was banned from the kitchen due to my lack of culinary skill and predisposition to burning anything that has to do with the oven... However, I have killer skills with a grill! I get recruited for grilling dinner all during the summer.
So if it came to be cooking for a date then I pray that he likes meat, because I can grill some mean steaks or ribs and corn on the cob! Lol :P

I would prepare chicken parmagiana served with spaghetti and salad. I would want my date to prepare lasagna for me. A woman who can cook lasagna is a woman worth keeping!

I think I would either fire up the smoker and prepare my dad's famous dry rub smoked ribs or prime rib with loaded baked potato, corn on the cob, spinach/cranberry/orange salad and a HUGE chocolate cake with strawberries if I wasn't sure what he liked.

If I knew he liked Italian - cheesy chicken pesto; Indian - steak curry; Mexican - enchiladas; German - smoked pork chops; Chinese - Gen Tsao's chicken or Mongolian beef

That is going to be one VERY happy man!

Okay, y'all are killing me. I'm going to go have a cheap toasted bagel now as I dream of smoked prime rib, grilled steaks, curry, lasagna, etc.

You know, we should post all of our recipes for this stuff in the recipe thread. I put my enchilada recipe there the other day. Will have to post the rest..

Okay...

1. Pull pre-cut bagel halves apart.
2. Put halves in toaster.
3.Turn on toaster.
4.Wait until bagel pops up.
5.Butter bagel. Do not butter toaster.
6.Eat bagel.

All right Nuke, I just have to ask... is your avatar a totally tripped out Smart car or what???!!

I could totally see you eating a jumbo bagel while sitting in this car... Never mind that it would need an open sunroof to give you enough space for your head. ;) But yes, this car is totally you, I can see it now!!

And what do you do if the bagels isn't one that's pre-cut???

If the bagel isn't pre-cut...? Then I guess I hit drive-thru.

The car is a Smart car Porsche...it's called a Smorsche.
It was from an email I got a while back about 'new Smart cars coming out...' It includes the Smorvette and the Smamborghini.
