We all agree that man is inherently sinful and that he cannot redeem himself by any work.
We can all quote verses about the sinfulness of man.

I'm interested in the BEST verses you have that SAY [NOT JUST "IMPLY"] that a lost man cannot believe the gospel.

If you had to choose, say, the 3 clearest and most relevant verses to answer the question, what would they be?

Please, please, give the BEST and only 3.

Thanks.

Without the gospel of faith. . "hearing and believing God not seen" . No man could please God

hebrew11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Without him working in us no man can seek after the things not seen the eternal.

Unbelief (no faith) apposing faith .The opposite is not doubt . Christian do doubt when searching for the answer of faith.

God calls the whole creation faithless (unbelief) not little, none.

Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

What believers do need is the faith of Christ that does work in us to both will and empower us to work with him . . making our burden lighter. The focus on the unseen things of God.

Philippians 2:13-15 King James Version (KJV) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

There are many best or favorites . Remember we can plant or water the seed with the water of the word. But having the faith of Christ to believe God does not come from ones own selves .

We were reckoned as having no faith that could please .

It would seem differences in best or favorite can change. Possibly why we are given four what are called gospels . Four represents universal, north, south, east and west.

How can you add anything to this ?All the examples in hebrews 11 are the faith of the people mentioned. Not once does it say God caused them to belive so God was pleased by what he caused in them .

It has been well stated that the only thing a lost person can understand is the gospel. God lights every soul with light sufficient to perceive the gospel. One that all men are sinners, all sin produces death and judgment is already passed.

If a lost man cannot believe the gospel, then how can anyone believe the gospel?

I'm guessing you're trying to win some kind of argument with someone or something? Why are you seeking such verses?

The gospel = "things of the Spirit of God" which is stated in verse 14. The natural man thinks the gospel is foolishness.
Nope the natural/ carnal/ babe cannot understand what's said in verse 6 . then it follows on in chapter 3 the same context . These believers cannot understand the ( verse 6 chapter 2 ) deeper wisdom Paul wants them to understand. The meat .

Somebody might ask,Is It man's fault that he Is lost?
I think those that are lost had a choice but they loved darkness.
2 Corinthians 4:1-4
King James Version

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

chapter 2 says nothing about the natural man thinks the gospel is foolishness .
10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
