Well we know this verse cannot aid the Calvinist doctrines . Why is Satan blinding blind people, blind from birth? That would be like putting blind folds on blind people .
Calvin is dead.

He is just confirming he is the god of this world blinding their minds from the light of the gospel . Jesu came to give sight to the spiritually blind and those who say they see and understand after the temporal. . . he makes blind not giving them his understanding of faith the eternal things not seen

Isaiah 29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

It has been well stated that the only thing a lost person can understand is the gospel.
If this were not so, then the preaching of the Gospel would be meaningless.

God meant to use the Gospel itself as the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). Which means that the lost can surely understand that Christ died for their sins according to the Scriptures, and rose again for their justification according to the Scriptures. That God commands all men everywhere to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit works in concert with the Gospel.

Furthermore faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (the Gospel) (Rom 10:17). God does not give saving faith to some as a gift, while bypassing others. God does not elect some for salvation and others for damnation(as the Calvinists claim) .

1 Corinthians 2:14 is speaking about the deep things of God. That means the deeper spiritual truths AFTER the Gospel has been preached and obeyed.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (1 Cor 2:10)

What do you think happens when the light does shine on them?.

When the light of the gospel shines it takes away darkness. It would seem light (God is light) is used to represent children of light. Previously Children of darkness. No gospel, No glory . No God .

Know the gospel, know the light of his presence that works from within. Walk in it while you have it. By faith keep it, guard it protect it with all ones heart soul and new mind .

Ephesians 5:7-9 King James Version (KJV)
Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

But is it?
John 9:2
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him."

The colours your using are slightly distracting from the content. I just keep thinking ' skittles ' .
hopefully he means that before Adam sinned ,blindness would never have been an issue . No need for specsavers either .

We all agree that man is inherently sinful and that he cannot redeem himself by any work.
We can all quote verses about the sinfulness of man.

I'm interested in the BEST verses you have that SAY [NOT JUST "IMPLY"] that a lost man cannot believe the gospel.

If you had to choose, say, the 3 clearest and most relevant verses to answer the question, what would they be?

Please, please, give the BEST and only 3.

Thanks.

1 cor 2:14 is a good one but @ForestGreenCook already gave that one...
Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So post #13 supposed right...this (yet another) thread is an attempt to "win" an argument, or prove a point? Just curious.....

I do not think any of these fit the ops question explicitly.

I think he wants exact wording not something that could be translated that way

I can translate all of these differently that you in what they are really saying concerning mans ability to be drawn to god and come to faith while dead in sin

imagine if a woman only loved you because you forced her to?
Faith is truly a gift from Jesus. As for your comparisons here, it seems you do not understand what a gift is and how it must be received. There are those who simply will not accept it. Perhaps you know this well; I could not say.

As for exaggerated intellectualisms, please hold these approaches for your fellow intellectuals, and leave the children to believe as they are given. Do not put stumbling blocks in their paths given by Jesus, Yeshua.

Saying Faith has to be given as a ' gift ' that has to be given or you cannot believe ( regeneration preceds faith ) is a stumbling block .Look up Derick Webb

I'm not certain it is. I could see God causing blindness regardless of the fall in order to bring glory to himself still. Sight is a grace, not a right.
I wouldn’t say GOD caused It but I would say that HE used that situation bringing to HIMSELF glory.

When I received th gift of faith by and from the Holy Spirit, it was not by any effort of mine other than the realization that mankind is evil, I was part of mankind, and therefore I was the same, but now by this realization the gift was given me in one burst of Holy Light which dwells within now.

Stop being so annoyingly and pseudointellectually pedant with the Word and remember we are children here, not scholars of grammar impressing each other with a lot of back and forth nonsense. We learn with the simple questions of the Father. Now if you do not understand what I have said, this would be par for the course.
