I am sorry sir , did not mean to across unfriendly...
I asked @Adstar a question about his post , nothing mentioned about Calvin , Calvin seems to be brought into so many post , even to those who do not know much of what he taught , so maybe I became a bit short because you seemed to fit this in answering my post...
I am Gods daughter by the way , not through Calvins way , but through my Lord Jesus Christ my Savior...
...xox...
Amen you are a child of God through Jesus and nothing can separate you from him . Its the greatest news ever.

The natural man does not understand the things of God. Natural man does not hate sin but runs to it with gusto! and hopes you will run to it with them. Sin can be fun, ..if it wasn't nobody would participate in it. Yet for all the ways for man to sin, the ONLY unforgiveable sin is BLASPHEMY. (from the Greek BLAS 'to speak against' ...PHEMO the Holy Spirit .... the One who teaches, corrects and convicts of sin) .......speaking against God's word

The atonement goes with being born again. God is not "refused", nor is the blood of Christ refused by the believer, it is the covering for his sin.

“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” (Romans 5:9-11)
Good post.

We have to have verses that speak on Salvation during the church age . We must get this right ,to tell others how to be saved. Otherwise we could hinder someone from believing the truth . God is pleased to save anyone through believing.
This sounds like you're shouldering WAY more than you need to brother. All we are called to do is to faithfully proclaim His word as truthfully as we can for His glory, but all this worrying about "We must get this right ,to tell others how to be saved. Otherwise we could hinder someone from believing the truth." is ALL on Him. (to be clear I'm speaking ,more about the "Otherwise we could hinder someone from believing the truth" part than the "getting it right" part, but both can apply)

We worry about what comes out of our mouths, and caring about others enough to want to tell them the truth. A desire and truth we can ONLY have once we are born again and God opens our eyes and hearts to these things. God draws them to Himself through us His children, and empowers us to boldly proclaim His word. That right there is the existent of our role, after that it's all on Him to work in them, and this frees us from the weight you were just speaking of.

I do know and understand what you mean, and I am by no means trying to "correct" or "teach" you anything you don't already know I'm sure, it's just that bit of burden to "make sure" they get it right and get saved, just seemed like you are taking a bit more of the burden than you need too, however this only shows your focus. and things you care about most praise God. That is doing what we are called to do in order we might see others come to truth for His glory Amen!!! :D:D:D:D:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::D:D:D:p(y)(y)(y)(y)

There's no blinders on my eyes.

All men have the opportunity to repent. Not all men repent.

All men had the opportunity to join Israel. Not all men joined Israel.

So why do some repent and some don't? Some believe and some don't?

John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
I am in agreement with your post.

There is a divide between the natural man, and the regenerated man, and the only bridge between the two is being reborn again to a spiritual life, by God's sovereign grace, without the natural man's help.

I think its the opposite.

Its very easy to continue in the worlds view of believing that your free will is the cause of everything.

Its not easy to study the bible and come to Christ and find out the Truth. And the Truth is we are not saved by our decisions. We are not saved by our free will. We are saved by Christ by Gods Will.
Amen.

Yes. I very much agree with your statement here.

When I was coming to Christ, or rather being drawn to Christ, I could not stop with thoughts of lust, pride and covetousness. No matter how hard I tried. I didn't want them. But I was literally powerless to stop.

That is why I thought I was a vessel built for destruction. Because I didn't have the power to stop this sin in my mind, where sin starts.
Some, as yourself, recognize their depravity, and some deny the scriptures to teach it. I agree with you.

Why is this so hard to understand. Even the greatest of Prophets to Paul himself were all working out their salvation with Fear and Love of G-d. Why? Because lets say your 70 years old, you did everything in the book...and all of a sudden you tell your nurse she is fat and that one comment causes her to commit suicide (G-d Forbid), then you have a big sin on your hand and clearly kicked Jesus to the curb even for one moment and Jesus gives many of these parables where 2 people were in a field, 2 people working etc. So no one knows until Judgment day and until then, Fear and Love the L-rd every single moment, for Jesus is returning like a thief in the night! We must always be on guard.

To be fair to @oyster67 it is an exchange.

You have to drop all the junk you are holding on to in order to receive Gods Gifts.

In this way we aren't giving God anything, just like YOU say, but we are giving up things, just like oyster said...

So I think you both are right. If that's ok...?
With all due respect, do we not "give up those things" after God gives us the new spiritual life in rebirthing us? I think that oyster believes "giving up things" causes God to give him the gift of spiritual life.

That's showing that God Exists.

No one has an excuse for denying the existence of God.

That's not showing the Truth of Salvation and the vail over the minds of those who have not come to Christ.
My belief, is that these people in Rom 1 are not unregenerate, but regenerate people, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. The unregenerate has never held the truth in righteousness, or unrighteousness. Those well meaning christian's, who do not understand, nor accept the depravity of mankind, misinterpret Rom 1.

right. there have been numerous threads on the subject right in this forum

not really sure who you are referring to?

the op (although I disagree he has proper understanding) is not a Calvinist
The op is on an anti calvinist rampage, that’s the issue, a group of them seem to be bent on defeating it, as if they could

Welcome

Salvation is much deeper than this

you can’t obey every law in the book, if you could god would have held you to it and never sent Jesus to suffer as he did.

The pharisees thought they were perfect, That’s why they rejected Christ, if he was here today most churches would reject him also, because he would not fit their belief system

This is quite a remarkable claim . What if Total inability from birth were not true , how would it change what you believe?

Sentences by other Christians truly interest me. It leaves me with so many questions like, did you actually hear God’s voice? How did God talk to you? I hear those words and wonder if God even hears my prayers because as near as I can tell God has never spoken to me in a voice other than what I know as my own voice, my own thoughts. Others claim God speaks to them, how do they know it’s God? What are they actually hearing? I’m very interested in that conversation.

“Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find.”
It was in several different ways.

Most of it, before I was a believer, was conviction of sin. I'd feel horrible and rejected.

Some of it, was the voice of silence, I don't really know how to word it. I think this is what is referred in the Bible as "the small still voice". You probably experienced it yourself, most people do they just don't know what it is. Usually it happened when I was in nature and it happened since childhood. I would just have a sense of great peace and feel like one with the mountains and the sky and the trees and sometimes when I played with my toys or drawing as a child or playing with the mud, I'd have a lot of peace and feel like the moment lasts forever.

Some of it was crazy "coincidences". I found about a dozen of lost crosses (jewelry) since I was a very small child (on the street, in the grass, at school, or just about anywhere) before I became a believer. I don't know anyone who had found so many or even close. I believe God arranged it to keep directing my attention to Him.

I had a dream referencing Biblical details back as the unbeliever, when I haven't been exposed to the Bible. (I wrote it down into my diary because it was puzzling as to what it meant - I only learned later when I started reading the Bible as a believer). I testified of this experience in detail later to agnostics, and they admitted, that would've been sufficient for them to be converted if it happened to them. But then I'd tell them, see how God didn't allow me either to know the proof beforehand, He only revealed it after He was unconditionally trusted. We must come to God by faith. I think double slit experiment attests to this scientifically, even. They confirmed in the lab that one as merely an observer, the presence of observing and the act of looking no matter how unbiased one was, affects how the observed particles will behave. I think one looking for God as in trying to observe Him under a microscope, to find empirical proof, will never find God, and that's simply how God arranged the universe.

But when I became a believer, a lot more came (and please forgive me now that I'll hold some back but this forum can get very irreverent and filthy, so that's why).

It's not hard to discern God's voice because it's very different from how our own mind thinks. I regret that there is not more conversation on this topic among us, I googled and asked many questions too until with experience and the Bible and testimonies of some other Christians I came to answers and also guarding myself from counterfeit spiritual experiences. Our own mind chatter isn't God's voice, but while His voice does reach our mind it's coming through the spirit.

His voice comes as spiritual perceptions, for lack of better term. Sometimes it is so strong that you can make the words out, sometimes you will find these words somewhere in the Bible later but not always, but it will be the same Spirit and not contradicting the Bible teaching. When these perceptions are of visual nature people call them visions - this is different than just "imagining things", it's different than "seeing things", it's a spiritual perception and "downloaded" into the spirit - BAM! Some rare people heard God audibly and then it will be as described in the Bible, like thundering or roaring of many waters - God does not change. Sometimes you can't word what God is telling you, but you understand a vastness reaching the depth of your soul ("deep calleth unto deep")... it's as if your mind isn't working when you try to describe it... Sometimes God brings up a verse to your mind and you just find a new depth in it, it's like you ate His Words (like Jeremiah). But one cannot confuse it with your own mind because the thoughts of His mind are so different.
