It amazes me that you judge others but are blind to yourself. Often you show you know scripture, yet your posts dispute ways of the Lord.

Please prayerfully read Phil. 4:8, and look for the good in posts, instead of combing them for something bad.

you are going to get coals in your Christmas stocking

you reverse what you actually do and it is not working ;)

Hebrew Roots is not a biblical alternative and you are up to your eyeballs in it apparently

Jesus pointed to a little child, not a scholar, to tell who was right. It isn't in what we know, it is in what we live.
well you let us know the next time junior, aged 5, is in the pulpit

or writing an article for Hebrew Roots

funny how one of the best educated men in the NT, Paul, wrote so much of the New Testament

but you give more credence to the law of the Old Testament

Can you tell me where you will be preaching next Sunday?
not at your local graveyard where you might well be ;)

crack open a Bible and understand that God forbids occult practices

if you only depend on the authors of questionable books, as those you recommend, it may explain the difficulty you have in understanding that not all that is spiritual is of God

I think we need to stop saying God told me. And stop saying the scripture proves me and just share what we think. Otherwise we come across as boastful and proud and prety Much destroy good conversation before it starts
If we say we just know all about God and our interpretations are absolutely correct, that is being arrogant. We need to be sure that we are doing our best to understand scripture, it isn't from what "we believe". What a human person believes means nothing, really. If we are humble before the Lord, we don't add or subtract from scripture but accept it straight as it is written. As we post, it really is necessary to assure those who read what we write is not our personal belief, it is trying our best to simply report what scripture tells us.

i agree. discernment can be very important for some things in life. and yet the Bible itself tells us to, "be still and know that i am God".

God did make all things new. That erases the former creation. Jesus didn't ressurect on the seventh day. He could have done that and confirmed the former creations 7th day rest. He ressurected on the first day of the week. Much more fitting. He is Lord of the Sabbath. He makes all things new. The New Day is the first day and the 8th day. The Sabbath is an eternal reality in Christ.
I see it as Jesus died and rested on the 7th as he did in creation only to be resurrected on the 1st day. Even after Jesus died they still were keeping the sabbath, they even stopped to keep the sabbath as they were prepping Jesus's body for the tomb.

I believe that we are told that some people consider every day that same, and we are not to make an issue of it as you are doing. I believe God established a special Sabbath day and say I believe it. Now you have decided to run my life for me because of what I believe. Unbelievable.

And yes, the world reads this forum, I am amazed you weren't aware of that.

find a person who is following the straight and narrow way and you will find the truth.

find a person who believes in Christ for salvation and you will find a person who is following the narrow way.

Jesus is the narrow way.

Eventually Christians were not permitted in synagogues which was essential for observing the Sabbath. They were doing what Jesus did but Jesus didn't command that. They continued assembling on Sunday for the breaking of bread in rememberance of the Lord as He commanded.

Acts 2:46 Daily in the temple broke bread daily
but to use Acts 20:7 is what i think your using as ref to clam they stopped keeping the sabbath is reaching because they broke bread daily.
Pluse if you consider the whole narrative provides no support for the view that Paul held this meeting specifically because it was the first day of the week he had been at Troas seven days certainly he must have me with the believers there already more than once. He was about to leave so its logical that he would hold a final farewell meeting and celebrate the Lords supper with them. the first day of the week is merely a part of his continuing chronological record of Paul's journey.

About 10 years ago, I wrote an essay about the early church and something struck me ‘they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer AND The Lord added to their number daily’ I tried to do those four things (religious I know) but now I can’t find a church that does them! I’ve been doing two-three of them, but can’t get the fellowship. You’re v. blessed if you’ve found it 😁
Ps. Fellowship for me is talking about Jesus/Bible etc.

It's much more than a literary device. It's the day the first Christians gathered for worship. That's a historical fact that continues to this day. It's deeply Christological as well.
Paul asked that Christian communities make a collection on the first day of the week as well. It is reasonable to assume that was a day of gathering that was more committed to than others.

Blik you are right but you are preaching to a crowd that will strongly reject your understanding because they only want to maintain a simple basic understanding.

Not sure where you get that as a historical fact. If you look it was Constantine who issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest not the bible. Who gives man the right to Change the Law of God anyways?

It really doesn't matter that much, but everyone states that Jesus rose on the first day, and quotes scripture after scripture, all telling that it was discovered that He had already risen, the discovery was made on the first day. Why is the discovery of something reported as telling when what they discovered happened?

There is no changing anyone's mind about it, It has been written in stone that Christ rose on Sunday, but I would love to be able to understand why that decision was made.

My understanding is that Constantine is the one who gave the decree of Sunday Worship. Constantine wanted to unify the Pagan believes with the Church believes so that they would all get along. But that might just be me.
