Hi! Yes, we need a great spiritual revival here in the USA, and around the world! I pray for that daily! God is tired of lukewarmness, and wants our religiousness towards Him to be hot! Professing Christians need to be just as religious and devoted to God on all days of the week as they seek to be on Sundays! God bless you!

I agree with the message. I do want to point out that Commands given do not have to be obeyed. It is just that those who choose to not obey them must suffer the consequences for their disobedience. Those Soldiers given Commands do not have to obey, but the punishment for disobedience can be quite severe. Those people who choose to disobey God suffer a much greater punishment for their disobedience, and, yet, vast numbers of people still do.

The Command to repent is given to those who are not living in agreement with God. They are to "turn to" God and away from their sinful lives. People looking for a specific sin simply have to look at the sin of living apart from God.

Romans 10:14 is pretty clear.
Hi! I agree to an extent with how you explained it. But to me - it makes more sense to say that GOd does command everyone to repent - just as it is worded to say in that verse. This doesn't mean that all will choose to obey His commands, of course. But those who choose not to obey that command in this life - will end up in hell if they never come to repentance in this life. It's true that those who choose to obey His commands are those whose hearts have opened up to the Lord, in response to the Spirit's working on them to do so.

The Bible has a whole lot of commands given to people. But just like not all people choose to obey the police or their government - not all people choose to obey God. But eternal punishment doesn't come until after this life - to those who reject Him in this life and never came to repentance before they died.

Which means that the Gospel must be preached as a COMMANDMENT to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. This rarely happens.

God commands sinners to TURN from their sins and idols and turn to Christ for salvation. Which means that a forsaking of sin and a surrender to Christ is a divine imperative.

God does COMMAND men to believe on Christ. It is not an option: And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. (1 John 3:23)
Hi, Nehemiah! Well said - I agree! As you say, and as I've heard other pastors say - there is a great lack of this more correct teaching on this very important subject! It's unfortunate. But I pray daily for spiritual revival to take place throughout the world - it sure needs it!

How will they believe if they don't change their mind ?
Hi! They won't! It's because having an open heart towards the gospel is absolutely necessary in order to come to repentance that saves. Having an open heart - means to be sincerely seeking God. So many are not sincere in their seeking of God. It makes all the difference between whether they will understand the gospel or not. And after coming to a correct understanding of the gospel - they can then make the decision to repent of their sins and to accept Jesus as Lord (God and Master) and Savior of their life - which will save them.

The Bible talks some about hard hearts and hearts that are open towards God. Everyone's different in that way. But it's absolutely to have some openness towards the gospel - in order for it to be possible for them to be fully open to the gospel and to wholeheartedly receive it.

Here's an example of how hardness of hearts, prevents reception to the gospel:

Matt 13:3-4

3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
KJV

Matt 13:19

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
KJV

It saddens me that with everything going on around the world right now, that so called Evangelistic preachers are still pushing things that tickle the ears. I have not heard anyone (thinking mainstream well known) stand up recently and say to the church "REPENT!"
Hi! Yes, as you say - it is so sad! I don't want this world to come to an end any sooner than it has to! So I pray daily for a great spiritual revival to take place throughout the world! A great spiritual revival is a real one - not a fake one, in which most people affected by it have failed to get saved - due to failure to come to repentance!

My grandpa Bert, was a Seargeant in World War I. And a seargeant gives commands! And they must be obeyed. God commands people everywhere to repent! It's not a matter of waiting around for someone to do it for you. God already did His part - He provided the way of salvation to the world through Jesus' dying on the cross for the sins of the world. And following that - He commands all people to repent! So the next step is yours. Not His! He is not wiling that any should perish, though He knows many will end up in hell - due to willfully rejecting God in their lives. But choose not to be like those who choose to reject Him, and who refuse to repent of their sins! Hell is a terrible place to spend all eternity after this life - in! While heaven is the most wonderful place there is - to spend all eternity in! Up there - you'll be in God's presence forever, and will be happier than you've ever been before while on earth!

The natural unregenerate man will not repent of breaking a spiritual law that he cannot discern, and thinks it to be foolishness. Spiritual repentance is reserved for the regenerated children of God. When the regenerated child of God breaks a spiritual law, it separates them from their fellowship with God, because God will not fellowship sin, until he repents. Sin does not separate them from their eternal inheritance, because Jesus paid for the sins of those that his Father gave him, and after they are born into this world by natural birth, God regenerates them.

Hi! True, there needs to be a change of mind, in order for repentance to begin! I realize that some sincere Christians think it isn't possible for a true Christian to fall away. But I've been taught otherwise, and know of the scriptures that support the truth that some do fall away. No one helplessly falls away - it only happens when intentionally done.
Notice in the following scripture passage, it contains the phrase, "IF you remain faithful to the end" (this shows that not necessarily all will choose to be faithful to the end).

Heb 3:6-8

6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

' Falling away ' implies ' climbing or clinging to something. This would be salvation by works.

Hi!
Matt 16:24-26

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Jesus has already paid for their sins ..They need to obey the Gospel ( believe what Jesus has already done. )

Why do you not list Book, chapter and verse with your quotes of the scriptures? Repentance brings about that good and peaceful life that the regenerated people can enjoy as they sojourn here in this world. Repentance is not the cause of getting eternal life. The unregenerate natural man will not repent of breaking a spiritual law that he cannot discern, and thinks it to be foolishness.

In verse 14 of that same chapter "saved"=delivered, not eternally, but delivered from their lack of knowledge of the doctrine that Jesus taught.

I appreciate your comments. Notice that Christ is referred to as a son over HIS OWN HOUSE, which to me means his church, not eternal heaven.

Verse 11, says these that do not remain faithful to the end, shall not enter into my rest (rest being the promised land. the promised land represents the church, not heaven). Moses was not allowed to go into the promised land, and I believe the scriptures support the fact that he will be in heaven.

Remaining faithful till the end (if it means eternal heaven)would indicate that mankind would be granted eternal heaven by their good works, and I do not believe the scriptures teach that.

Saved=delivered. Repentance is reserved for the person that has had their heart changed from the heart of stone to a fleshy heart in the new birth that can be pricked in their conscience to repent. The unregenerate natural man will not repent of breaking a spiritual law that he cannot discern, and thinks it to be foolishness, 1 Cor 2:14. Repentance is a product of the new birth, and not the cause of it.

The regenerated person is delivered (saved) from the consequences of their sin when they repent, which has nothing to do with eternal deliverance.
