I am so sorry -- I don't understand. I am missing something, I am sure. Your Colossians reference says that we are to do HIS commands about food, drink, festivals, new moons, and Sabbaths . . . yes, His Sabbaths and His only, but also Sabbaths. What did I miss? :) Thanks!
Im sorry I was trying to make two points to two different people let me clarify. Magenta was referring to Col. 2:16 verse as her case not to keep Sabbath commandment but she doesnt understand that verse is speaking of feast day Sabbath's they are two totally different things. Read Lev. 23:24,27,32,37-38 this will explain this in full. Your are no longer under ceremonial laws which were before the coming of Christ.

ceremonial laws which were foreshadowing the coming of Christ which we are no longer under and mans ordinances
what you seek to dismiss by calling 'ceremonial laws' the Bible calls part of "THE LAW" -- and they aren't "man's ordinances" as you call them but the very things the LORD God Almighty commanded Israel. do not blaspheme.

need an example?

And they tied unto it a lace of blue silk to fasten it on high upon the mitre, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Thus was all the work of the Tabernacle, even of the Tabernacle of the Congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses: so did they.

You are free from sin and death not gods commandments don't confuse the two 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

"this is My commandment: that ye love one another"
it is because i love you that i will correct you. love does no harm; letting you continue to blaspheme would be harm. :)

Now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning
back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them
all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!
I fear for you, that my efforts for you may have been in vain. <- From Galatians 2:9-11

Further in the same chapter of Galatians:

21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.

24 These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written:

“Be glad, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”

28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

I would caution you, new member. You are welcome to disagree respectfully, but asserting that a long-standing member of this community is preaching "heresies" is out of line.

1 John 3:4-6 Whoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away are sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth have not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Also please read Lev. 23:24,27,32,37-38 this will explain Col. 2:16 is talking about feasts days not Sabbath commandment a huge misconception.
The verses you cited from Leviticus 23 do not "explain Col. 2:16 is talking about feasts (sic) days not Sabbath commandment". What they do is give the commandment for the Day of Atonement.

What is your interpretation of Galatians 3?

I understand your position, though I don't think your "He hit me first" justifies your comment.

Maybe take a step back and think for a moment: are you here to argue, or to be part of a fellowship?

I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Galatians 3:2 The law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3:24

Galatians 2:20-21 :)

Well, I just informed my husband that I declare him responsible for all my sins. Yeah. (Breathes deeply in new-found freedom.) Hee-hee. Don't you wish it worked that way?

Waaaalllll, upon second thought, no, I don't. :(

:D
Thanks for the humor. But just to be clear? Eve was punished for her sin.

Your are correct we are justified by faith not works but god did give us instructions to live by im speaking of the righteousness of the law Rom.4:28,31 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Isn't it ironic that Colossians is used by Christians to uphold not celebrating because a sabbath or festival has a date, yet they give dates to all man made celebrations?

I support Sabbath commandment im talking about Christians who misinterept Col. 2:16 and use it as case to not keep Sabbath commandment they don't realize its talking about feast day Sabbath's which are no longer needed because of Christ's first coming. Pay attention don't mis quote me.
