Prison has always been reserved for criminals... Always...
But cognitive dissonance wins every time, even with no knowledge of the circumstances, was i speeding, did i run a red light, how long was i in for. U have no idea...

But see how u changed the subject to "im a criminal"... Curious behavior i find

It seems to be human nature to point the finger and say look at the bad guy...
It makes people feel good, they feel righteous, they feel proud, subconsciously...

Pride is Satans favourite sin u know...
Hey, you're playing victim card mate. If you went to jail over traffic offences if must have been a significant amount, you don't get put behind bars like that over nothing. So I have no sympathy for you, road safety is a serious issue

if you, in AU, see the same phase of the moon that we see in the USA, Canada & Europe, then it is impossible that the world is a flat disc.
This is not true.

I see you are still trying to explain the Flat Earth model with Ball Earth physics.

Im not asking for sympathy, just observing your change of topic to attack me... U must feel very self righteous, full of pride

Do u know about the law... No
Do u know about prison... No
Do u know what happened... No
Do u know what the sentence was... No

Yet u pass judgment on me as if ur some kind of God... LoL... It means nothing... It only displays your weak mind
Be gone Satan back into you hole for u know nothing about anything

@breno785au

So u went from "prison is for criminals" to "prison is for traffic offenses as well". Ok
Now i'll tell u what happened and i will tell u how u will react...

I thought my license was invalid so i rang the authorities but they said that i was ok to drive.
A week later, i got pulled over by the cops and to my surprise they told me that my license was invalid.
They sent me to court but i couldn't afford $15,000 for a lawyer. The judge gave me 2 months prison and loss of license for a year.

In comparison a mate of mine was doing 160km/h in an 70km/h zone while unlicensed but he didn't go to jail and lost his license for only 3 months. All cos he had the money...

Is that fair... Not at all... But you will struggle with cognitive dissonance. U will try everything u can to justify it to yourself.
U know that is unfair but u won't admit it. U know that they screwed me over but u will either drop it or continue your mindless judgement on me...

This is an ugly side of human nature and its built on pride...

My apologies, I didn't consider all possible circumstances, Yes that is quite unfair.

You probably should've reserved the last part of your post until if I disagreed because now you're doing the very thing you accuse me of

I apologize if this question has already been asked, but just to ask out of objective curiosity and nothing more, why is there a debate about whether or not the earth is flat, yet we never hear anyone question if the other planets, moons, or stars in the sky are flat or spherical?

Its all good man... Im sorry for being so rude, using the name of the evil one like that was wrong of me... Terrible thing to say... Especially when i know u didn't mean anything by it... I have this prison PTSD... I snap at people for nothing when its spoken about. I roll up and cry like a baby when i think about it deeply, i even have watery eyes as im typing this now

The evil one is there in full force, attacking the weak and vulnerable in every possible fashion...
AAARRGGHHH leave them alone... i despise that evil ^^^^
But Gods ministry is massive in there. He is so easy to find. He is just waiting for you to repent. U know its the sick that need a doctor, right and its the sinner that needs Chris and i can testify to that...

Thats why my heart bleeds for my brothers and sisters locked up, even the guilty ones. God forgives the repentant and loves them all. I wish society had more empathy for them but as i said it seems to be human nature. I had the same attitude as well b4 "ur in jail u deserve it"... Its such a sad and horrible thing to think and say...

Anyway i better stop now
Again, don't sweat, its my bad, I made too much of it

It's kind of you to bear your heart like that. I have some understanding of what you are saying, I have a particular grace for a certain type of people that this world despises too but I won't go into that.
Bless you mate, and may your journey where ever it leads you is blessed.

P. S. I was more wrong than anything, you have no need to be sorry to me.

I actually saw a flat earth news article, on my phone, this week... Did not read it but made me think of this thread... I think that is great in a strange, great, abstract way...lol I decided I love our flat earth person... (please do not take offence I do not know your online name but I know you are there) you made me smile.... Thank you... And to all who participate in the flat earth and bring about enjoyment in my small round life...lol ...
Wouldn't you be able to see north star from southern hemisphere if earth was flat. There's even people adamant about flat earth that try and use God's Word to prove it. Watch 7 trumpets pepper on you tube he is Christian and supports this.

Because none of the things you mentioned in the quote above are anything like what you have been taught that they are.

In a way, the 'debate' is not so much about the earth being flat as it is about the earth not being a spinning ball flying through space...

Nowhere in the Bible does it say "the earth is flat"; however, it does indicate by what it does say that the earth is stationary and does not move. So, therefore, it cannot be a spinning ball that is flying through space.

Relative to what we have all been taught since birth:

~ There are no planets.
~ There is no solar system.
~ There is no universe.

Earth is not a 'planet'. The stars are not 'suns'.

The Bible talks about 'planets' as being 'wondering stars'.

The Bible talks about 'stars' as being a different kind of thing than the sun.

From a biblical perspective, there is only one sun and one moon.

The Bible talks about the stars [literally] falling to earth. So, therefore, they cannot be what modern science would have you to believe.

There is only the earth, the atmosphere, the dome above, and heaven above/outside the dome.

From a biblical standpoint, the first and second heaven are under the dome while the 3rd heaven is beyond the dome.

Yeah I think if I had to choose it be northwestern California get best of both worlds redwoods (hyperion tallest tree in world 379) and coast. You know there was a map to lead you to that tree on internet don't know if its there anymore. I think I downloaded to my phone.

I watched a Creationist named Kent Hovind on youtube wipe out the Flat Earth argument.
Simply using Scripture.

It was kind of amusing to watch.
Last I checked (about 12 months or so ago), Kent Hovind was too scared to debate Rob Skiba on the scriptural merits of Ball-Earth over Flat Earth. I find it highly doubtful he has progressed since then.

Claiming Kent was able to demolish Flat Earth when he is too fearful to debate is the same as claiming Richard Dawkins destroyed the Design argument for Creation with one of his monologues.

True. They don't value freedom over here
Not at all. A land built for criminals is now run by the worst of them. Kinda ironic.

I can see how that would be possible today but the big bang and the ToE theories weren't around in the 15th -18th centuries and the highest authority at the time was the Vatican.
I think heliocentrism really kicked off around the 1500s with Copernicus and his ilk. Then cames Charles with his theory of Evolution. But heliocentrism couldn't have kicked off - well, not as successfully, anyway - without belief in a Ball-Earth. I'm not sure when or how universally as the accounts seem to differ, but there was a switch from a belief in Flat Earth to a belief in Ball-Earth. Most of the ancient civilisations seem to have believed in a Flat Earth (or a domed Flat Earth).

There isn't that many shipwrecks down here in the south. Vasco da Gama, Able Tasman, Ferdinand Magellan, Captain Cook and others were successful in multiple return voyages. They would have had to learn to navigate using the southern cross instead of Polaris. But im wondering how much of it was down to helio maths...
I don't think any of the maths is helio. Even pilots use geocentric (if not Flat Earth) positioning. I'm not so certain about the shipwrecks - according to Parallax, there were more ships lost in the Southern Hemisphere, in part due to lack of accuracy of maps, in part due to the existing maps being based on a Ball-Earth, meaning the distances in the South were greater than mapped to be. This was written some 100 years ago, and I haven't confirmed it for the time, let alone the present.

The Portuguese basically just followed the shoreline around Africa to Asia.
Columbus crossed the Atlantic.
Tasman crossed the Indian ocean.
Magellan crossed the Pacific ocean.

They don't necessarily prove that they successfully navigated the globe using just helio knowledge, does it... Perhaps they were simply mistaken in their belief of the globe and the atheists kept going along with it when they learnt it was wrong in the 19th century...

The greatest navigators were the Polynesians, i wonder what they believed.. They didn't follow coast lines, instead they navigated the vast expanse of the pacific to go from island to island. Imagine trying to sail to a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific, its a seemingly impossible feat but the Polynesians were doing it... Cook was astonished at their skill.

Another thing that comes to mind is how late the Europeans were in exploring the earth. Part of it had to do with ship tech as they could only sail down wind before the Portuguese invented sails that can go into the wind at an angle. But maybe part of it was because their helio belief was wrong. Plenty of explorers left Europe never to be seen again.
I think the ancients had traversed the world aswell.

We have guys like Newton and Einstein but im in engineering and i know that u can play around with numbers and make them work in just about any situation...
Very true. I think anyone who thinks one can't fix the numbers just doesn't know enough about numbers. Sure, some people who know what they're looking for can pick up that someone has fixed the numbers, but often, when this stuff is reported, it's not reported with enough of the data to actually confirm if the numbers were fixed.

Its important not to dismiss a whole theory based on an anomaly as they all have things that don't add up and other things that do.
I dismissed flat earth based on the fact that travel from Australia to south America or to Africa doesn't add up.
And its easy for me now to dismiss helio theory based on the impossibility of the stars positions, im tempted to do so, especially when i come across someone who is being so belligerently hostile about it all...

So atm im not prepared to adhere to any theory. If i had to pick one now i would lean towards the geo belief that we are a stationary globe with Polaris to the north and the Southern Cross to the south
This is probably the easiest one to robustly defend. Heliocentricity is just inconsistent with the facts - Occam's razor removes it. In the video I posted, it's mentioned that the Book of Enoch talks about portals that the sun and heavenly bodies use. This may well be the reason heliocentrists always resort to arguments invoking celestial bodies to defend heliocentricity, whereas purely looking at only the terrestrial facts, a Flat Earth is the logical conclusion. I don't think either theory adequately addresses some of the celestial phenomena, although heliocentrists are usually unwilling to admit this of their theory.

Flat earth wouldn't have latitude and longitude would it?

I believe the Polynesians traversed the world around 1200 AD.
Some people believe that the Phoenicians traversed the world in. They were around from about 1,500 BC to 300BC

But i don't think it was possible for the ancients in Europes to traverse the world cos of their ships, in particular their sails...
This is a Phoenician ship. It just had the one style of sail which can only take you downwind...
Im not sure if the men on the ores could overcome head winds. I doubt it

Many ships set sail into the Atlantic hoping to find new worlds but none ever returned.
The trade wind took them south, never to be see again

It wasn't until the 14th century when the Portuguese invented a new sail design that allowed them to sail into the wind at an angle.
nef_croisades.gif
They used the triangle sails to travel up wind and deployed the traditional sails to go down wind

Someone pulled me up here and said i was wrong. I elaborated and he didn't respond so i think he accepted it... The main trick is adding constants, an arbitrary number added to make the other numbers work. Einstein's work is full of them

I know more about ships than i do astronomy but it does seem that way... Science is very arrogant, they like to think that they have the answers to everything and often lift speculative ideas up to the level of facts and truths. Like the big bang and ToE, their based on heaps of assumptions

To a degree, but credit where credit's due. The US never gave up their guns, despite false-flag after false-flag. People say Americans are stupid, but of all the world's peoples, they're the only ones still holding their guns. Not like the Ozzies after Port Arthur. Would be funny if it were not so tragic.

Ye i think your right but im not too sure. They had navigational equipment like sextants that determined their latitude and such.

Longitude and latitude exist in Flat Earth. Think of Flat Earth as a plate, with the North pole in the centre, South pole (not really a pole) the edge, and East and West counter-clockwise and clockwise respectively. Compass always points North.

I believe the Polynesians traversed the world around 1200 AD.

Interesting. I read about some device (an Out Of Place Artifact - OOPART) retrieved from a shipwreck in Europe, which was described as a "computer" for navigation, dated several hundred years BC. It apparently calculated star formations (based on time?) with some accuracy. Hard to know the truth, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the Earth was circumnavigated BC.

Someone pulled me up here and said i was wrong. I elaborated and he didn't respond so i think he accepted it... The main trick is adding constants, an arbitrary number added to make the other numbers work. Einstein's work is full of them
Yeah. Did you read about Lorentz contraction? This actually assumes the experimental apparatus changes shape during the experiment, 'cause they didn't like the results. Lol.
