That what? That is probably the shortest exposition I've seen. If "that's it", what say you of 1st Corinthians 14:24-25?

24 "But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth."
Amazing . A direct answer straight after the verse . It gives you which sin the Holy Spirit convicts the WORLD of . Just " because they believe not on me "

Christians rely so much on ' the work of the Holy Spirt ' to the detrement of actually preaching the Gospel.
I'm probably one of them. At a number of barbecues in our social/professional circle, I have been challenged by my colleagues, who are unbelievers, as to my faith. It is not easy to preach the gospel in a group of 10 to 16 drinking friends. I made a deal. They would give me 180 seconds of no comments to plead my case. 3 minutes to preach to men and women who do not murder, steal or rape children, and who pay their taxes and give to charity. I can tell you that I rely COMPLETELY on the Holy Spirit to convict them of sin and coming judgment.

Yet there is no verse that says that . All we have is " because they believe not on me " . This is what makes the difference between heaven or hell . What gets preached on Sunday, because it sounds good is " For sins if stealing, lying, Adultery ect . Yet no verse says this is what the Holy Spirit convicts of . Let's have a verse where we get this belief from ?

A direct answer? What question was asked by these verses?

I see no "answer". May I respectfully ask you to expose verse 8? Then we can compare. Thanks.

Through the knowledge of the law maybe? coming judgment, yes . Why ? because they believe not in him . This is the point of the Gospel . You can get people to join a ' do good to appease your conscience religion ' very easily .

Why do you need it ? it says what the sin is , plainly . There's no ambiguity at all .

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin , and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9Of sin, because they believe not in me

10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The Gospel is that Jesus has already paid for their sin .

That's an all-time record for brevity of answer. Remember, I'm not inside your head. I cannot see why you deny that the Holy Spirit would, when He came, convince the world of sin. I cannot fathom why you do not use the word "sin" as it is, in the singular. I cannot fathom why you say "that's it". You know ... I'm sure. But you must transmit your thinking to me. A paragraph will do, I'm sure.

You continue to reject the plain teaching of God's word. There is no counsel that can stand against God.
Since you know so little about me, here's what I suggest: either read more of my posts on this site, or don't read any. Your narrow-minded comments about me are both incorrect and inappropriate. Rein in your hatred and save it for your own sin.

Let the record show that you objected to a brother's understanding of a verse, but when asked to show the correct understanding, you refused.

You need to practice what you prescribe for others. Following women preachers so called will never get you to Spiritual maturity.

I hate only false doctrine. My mind is constrained only by the mind of Christ.

1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Whhaat! This is John 16. Our Lord had not died yet. In what way had Jesus paid for their sin before He died? This is John 16 giving the duties of the Holy Spirit. You have just said that we rely too much on the Holy Spirit, but you give Him the duty of preaching the gospel! It is MEN that preach the gospel! That is NOT His duty.

I believe the Holy spirit convicts because of the sin of not Believing on Jesus . Because of scripture. Why do you believe its all sins ect ?

When did I say that I "follow" women preachers? When did I even hint at such? Why is it that a mind "constrained by the mind of Christ" invents falsehoods and posts them "for the cause of Christ"?

Aaahhh! Now I understand. You think that the "sin" (singular) is not believing in Jesus. I can see how you come to that.

I will not object, but I will pose you a question. You don't have to answer, but do you know why the Offerings of Leviticus have FIVE main Offerings? Because there are five major problems with man's position. And Christ is the fulfillment of all the Offerings to solve these problems. Offering number 4 is the "SIN" (singular) Offering. It deals with a problem. And Offering number 5 is the "TRESPASS" (plural) Offering. It deals with another problem. Do you know the difference? The answer is in Romans where "sin" (singular) is used many times, but the term "sins" (plural) is only used about 4 times.

When John writes that the Holy Spirit convicts of "SIN", it is the SINGULAR. It cannot mean "SINS" (plural). Otherwise the Holy Spirit would have said so.

Perhaps it just the way you perceive what is taught from the scriptures.
