1) Paul said he could find himself disqualified. Disqualified from what? Salvation? Entering the Kingdom of God?

1Co 9:27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

2) What is the Kingdom of God? Rich men will enter it with much difficulty, surely that doesn't mean rich men can't ever receive salvation?

Mat 19:24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.
Mat_6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Mat_12:28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Mat_21:31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you.
Mar_1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
Mar_9:1 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”
Mar_9:47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell,
3) What is the difference between the Gospel of Christ and the Gospel of God?
Rom_15:19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;
1Co_9:12 If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.
Gal_1:7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
Php_1:27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,
Mar_1:14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
Rom_1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
1Th_2:8 So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
1Pe_4:17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

I've just discovered a former Moody Bible Institute professor's (Charles Cooper), series on the Gospel of God, the Gospel of Christ, and the Kingdom of God as expressed by Christ and the epistles. Cooper believes knowing the difference between the three is essential to the Christian walk and understanding of eternity.

I don't have a clear understanding of the difference between the two gospels or exactly what the kingdom of God is that we should be striving to enter. I'm interested in your studies and thoughts.

It also matters with context because obviously God is always the supreme ruler so His Kingdom is spaceless and timeless. Satan currently has rule over the world. But this is fading and only temporary as a result related to salvation as free will in mankind gives way to the choice of evil or good. The choice of evil unfortunately gives Satan temporary power. This must occur so that all mankind are without excuse and had the chance to respond to God or rebel. Eventually, the full number of God's children will come to Him and the rest will be ripe for judgment.

Gospel means good news.

God has various good news given to different audience during different time periods

God told Abraham the good news he will have many descendants like the stars of heaven and the sand in the shore in genesis 15

God told David the good news that a descendant from him will be ruling from his throne in 2 samuel 7

God told Israel the good news, after about 400 years of complete silence, that this descendant from David is finally here in the flesh, to usher them into that promised kingdom of heaven on earth in Luke 1.

This kingdom of God that you have quoted in the 4 gospels, refer to this good news. This is known as the "gospel of the kingdom"

Finally after Israel the nation rejected the messiah for the final time by stoning Stephen, God announced to the whole world the good news thru the apostle Paul that, all of us, gentiles or Jews can be saved thru believing in Jesus death burial and resurrection (Romans 11:11, 1 cor 15:1-4).

This is what you termed as "the gospel of Christ".

Do you think Paul was concerned about being disqualified from the rewards? Or maybe not ruling with Christ in the Millennium?

So the Church will also be in the Millennial Kingdom, or is that just for the Jews?

The Millennial Kingdom refers to the 1000 years reign of Christ after the Tribulation. During that time:

  1. National Israel's destiny will be on Earth, so yes, they will reign with Christ for a thousand years on Earth (Matthew 5:5).
  2. But for us in the Body of Christ who are saved under the gospel of grace, we will be reigning in Heaven with Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:3)

This is unclear but he cannot be talking about loss of salvation for sure, Paul's own teaching is very clear that salvation is a gift, not something that comes as a result of strenuous effort (Ephesians 2:8–9).

If you ask me, its disqualified from rewards.

I think in order to see the true God in our minds it is always more important to see the essence of God, the attributes of God in all scripture. That is searching, not for the differences in messages, but the sameness.

To correctly read the old testament or the new testament, it is necessary to see the sameness, of the eternal being that never changes in all of His word. If we get caught up in the differences in the 613 laws, the need of animal sacrifice, and such instead of seeing the essence of the Lord in these differences, then we miss what God is telling us about Himself.

It is the same with understanding the differences between the Kingdom of God, Gospel of God, and Gospel of Christ. There are differences, but it is essential we see the sameness.

It was to live with the Lord in eternity Paul did not want to be disqualified from. Paul was aware that sin kills, that sin could not kill him because the Lord forgave him of all his sins, but that he had to want to be free of sin.

We are freed from the death of sinfulness through Christ, but that is only if we want to be free of sin.

What did Paul believe he could be disqualified from?
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

The Crown that will last forever. This is the prize that Paul does not want to be disqualified from. This crown is salvation. The crown is spoken of in Revelation.

He did not speak of rewards but on a crown in eternal reference. The passage in context is about self discipline. This is not saying he has to work harder to gain salvation but within self discipline, he matures, grows closer, stronger in faith and this protects him from the snares of the world.

The early church had a problem listed in the scriptures. They were already having people fall away to false teachers, prophets and gnostic so called gospels. This is why self discipline is so important.

Salvation is open to those of faith. If they walk away, deny the gift after tasting it, then they are as if spitting in the face of Christ. Trampling the gift as if it was trash. Hebrews speaks on this subject. (Many believe Paul wrote Hebrews but obviously no one knows for sure.)

For those Christians who believe we do not need to discipline ourselves to obey the law because the law won't save need to read this verse.

The Lord gives us a way to manage the sin that our being human creates, but we are to also live in repentance of that sort of life.

Paul did not want to be un qualified by his ministry work failing . He never said he was concerned about his salvation. He teaches that he is saved and the boldness comes from this understanding.

I think it is important that we try to understand the mind of Paul. That mind was trained in the school he went to, Paul was a top student trained to be a Pharisee rabbi, and he used this training after the Lord made him the apostle to the gentiles. But there is nowhere in scripture that tells of Paul wondering about his ministry failing. Paul listened to the lord, and the Lord did not speak of his ministry failing.

Paul was concerned with the entire subject of salvation.

It seems most who continually conflict in the threads quote Paul while those who are more in harmony quote Jesus-Yeshua.

My opinion is that Paul is not the problem. We are as we do not understand the history of the Bible. Society changed over the last 2000 years and we want to fit what happened then into what we think we know today. It is just not possible :) .

I don't have a clear understanding of the difference between the two gospels or exactly what the kingdom of God is that we should be striving to enter. I'm interested in your studies and thoughts.
There is only one Gospel (which has a number of names, depending on the emphasis). And there is only one Kingdom of God (also called the Kingdom of Heaven in its outward manifestation).

The Kingdom of God has Christ as King, and presently it is not visible. However those who have been born again have entered into and seen the Kingdom of God. After the Second Coming of Christ it will be established on earth as a visible, physical and spiritual Kingdom on earth, and will be worldwide.

To strive to enter in means to hear the Gospel and to obey it (which is also called "the obedience of faith"). Only those who genuinely obey the Gospel are within the Kingdom of God.

Now to Him that is of power to stablish you according to my Gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. (Rom 16:25-27)

The Church (redeemed Jews and Gentiles in one Body) is an integral part of the Kingdom of God. So will be redeemed and restored Israel on earth in the future.
