This is why american nuclear frigates are banned from entering nz waters.
The french also tried to blow up the rainbow warrior and do nuclear testing in the Pacific ocean (near Tahiti) and we were like NO. Dont do it in our backyard.

Not safe for anyone. Hiroshima, Chenobryl and agent orange pretty awful too. Those countries are STILL cleaning up the mess! Talk about toxic.

here's capitalism in the Bible:

By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches,
and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches
(Ezekiel 28:5)
This is an abysmal misuse of prophetic scripture

So, according to your POV, which is the best form of gov't? If it's not capitalism, which is it?

who would hate a country and people enough to blow it up? Or bomb it? its beyond madness.

But then people are just weird and dont think much about the consequences. They think they playing God when they just being fools!

Thankfully God doesnt do stuff like that. He might occasionally let a volcano off or do thunder and lightening. The last thing He did was the Great Flood. Which was destructive at the time for sure but that was just water and pretty much made the Pacific Ocean.

We are given plenty of warning though. There is a rim of fire round the Pacific of volcanoes. Though volcanic soil is actually beautiful soil, not toxic at all, so after any destruction, its all good.

Jesus has the govt on his shoulders.
Why anyone would look to anyone else (i.e mankind) is kinda weird.

Jesus sits at the right hand side of Father God so God is actually on His left!

thats why people that spout politic on a christian forum bore everyone. YAWN. I think I will have a nap and let God do His thing, like keeping the universe ticking over.

clearly God's form of government. He calls Himself king.
clearly also this only has application when the True King is made king; not human monarchy.

capitalism isn't a form of government tho it's an economic structure

This is an abysmal misuse of prophetic scripture
it's speaking of Satan in correlation with the king of Tyre. by the abundance of clever merchandising for his own profit he made himself rich, and in richness became vain.

what do you call the practice of gathering personal wealth through cleverness in mercantile buying and selling?

It's more than that. It's about the worldwide trade in false worship. And it's sharply focussed toward the defeat of that head.

I'm not going down one of your Relativist rabbit holes with you.
If you are uncomfortable with people within the church discussing the evils of Far Left extremism and it's destruction of humanity
I'm not interested in your assessment of any other form of government.

capitalism does not teach charity.
capitalism is covetousness. it is the opposite of charity.
Capitalism is the use of financial assets nothing more.

It is not covetous it is a means of innovation and economic growth which can benefit many.

human monarchies arent that great as Israels own kings were pretty evil lol. They occasionally had good rulers but it was like once in a blue moon.

when countries dont have monarchies, they have republics. eg china and usa are republics. But they dont seem to be any better. occasionally some countries will have both captialism and communism, like germany once did, and it split the country in half. But then Germany had a fascist dictatorship before that, and ...the nazis were extreme right leaning. Before that it was various kingdoms. Depending on which kingdom you were in they were either peaceful or warmongering.

Personally I think we cant look up to man too much. Its natural for ppl to do this, but thats why Jesus came. humans were like sheep without a Shepherd. but now wolves have come in to devour the flock.

I think if the sheep has smarts the Shepherd taught them they can cope with anything. we can stay close to the Good Shepherd at all times, even when times are tough but a lot of people only think in the natural, not the spiritual.

thats why all the arguments about politic are compeltely useless and boring.

i don't know where you get "uncomfortable" from. this is the BDF. we're supposed to be talking about the Bible, and trying to incorporate some discussion of scripture into the conversation is what i'm doing. it's not because i'm 'uncomfortable' discussing carnal things like how earthly governments might best organize or regulate the seeking of earthly riches and the distribution of it; it's because it's more appropriate for us to be talking about the things of God than it is the things of this world.

we can ask @CS1 to move this to some more appropriate place like news or conspiracy if you're not keen on talking about the fact that Ezekiel 28 makes explicit reference to mercantilism and the amassing of personal wealth, and would rather continue the conversation in the direction of worldly political & economic philosophies. it's been suggested about this thread several times, since its inception. i'm cool with that.

i'm disinterested in talking about much else here other than scripture; not 'afraid'

i said that because it is hand-in-glove with consumerism, which cannot survive without the encouragement & celebration of covetousness. i don't thrive with a business selling widgets at profit unless i can influence people to covet widgets. Tyre didn't become rich by trading in the necessities of life, but in luxury goods. purple dye; a thing coveted.

You are dissecting it and throwing away the future prophetic indicator.
The King of Tyre is a picture of a religious dictator not merely a hoarder of wealth.
The image is a king who has spread spiritual prostitution over the face of the earth. He is crushed as was promised in Gen 3:15
We are given another picture of it in other ways. Notably in Rev 18 where the merchants of the earth mourn over the prostitute's doom. There is excessive wealth & greed involved yes but that is only one feature of the deeper meaning.

It's not a general indictment on all trading for profit in an economic sense.

since you agree that there is a great emphasis on mercantilism and the accumulation of personal wealth both in this passage and in connected passages i don't know why you called it a tremendous abuse of scripture for me to bring it up as related to a discussion on capitalist/consumerist mercantile economy.

did i say it is? weirdly i don't remember saying that. i think i just quoted it and said it was an example of capitalism in the scripture.
hmm

but let's go find all the scripture that relates to private, for-profit trade and merchandising, and let's see what the overall view the Bible has on such practice seems to be. :)

how about the buying and selling of animals in the temple? is that germane to a discussion of privately run for-profit industry & trade?

what do you think is an example of capitalist/consumerist economic activity in the Bible?

I talked about Ezekiel 28.

You are diffusing the focus from the evil of Leftism which is an enemy of everything the Bible stands for.
That is the subject of the OP. If you were really disinterested you wouldn't comment on it.
Trying to censor threads and arrange them to suit an agenda is a typical Left sense of entitlement to control everything.

maybe we ought to just quote "Lydia was a seller of purple" and speak no more of it.

i don't know. i don't seem to be very good at having conversations. perhaps i'll give it up.

It looked like you suggested we label the subject a "conspiracy" and move the thread. As well as mentioning moving the threads of other posters.

Just looking at the forum titles now- I see that one is called "Conspiracy and Corruption"
Fair enough. If the mods see fit let them move it.
