Thoughts on Heiser's views of demons, divine council, etc?

Heiser is neither confused nor promoting spiritual confusion. Since you take the time to investigate other matters related to Scripture, kindly take the time to understand what Heiser is actually saying, instead of dismissing or slandering him based on hearsay.

I only needed to read a few sentences on the first link to see the utter incompetence of its writer.

"First, I read his doctorates dissertation on the topic which presented a polytheistic view of the Bible."

It's a doctoral dissertation, not a "doctorates dissertation".

Heiser DOES NOT present a polytheistic view of the Bible.

Stop promoting slanderous error and instead, read the author's own words.

Odd, GOG is called similar to how Satan was addressed as Chief Prince (in Daniel held up Gabriel from Daniel)

Interestingly enough, theory believes the Demon GOG has revealed himself. One of the key clues is unity, oneness, similarity. During the [NFL Super bowl halftime show, there was numerous dancers. All dressed the same (black and red with white faces) all doing same action. Trust me and spend the minutes watching the last song and the dancers. The second song and the dancers are even more bizarre. View this with the mind of the Holy Spirit. Tell me if you notice the spirits.

An author about the end times claims that dance last night reminded him of a dance they observed in China. He said God told him during that dance it spiritually represented the demonic Spirit of GOG, the Chief Prince. He wrote an article today about the Super Bowl halftime show and connected it [to] the same Demonic spirit GOG, the Chief Prince.

What the author is getting at, he believes the UNITED STATES of AMERICA represents GOG and MAGOG in the Book of Revelation.

I haven't gotten that far in the book, and I don't recall hearing those specific ideas in the lectures or podcasts.

That site runs articles supporting Cessationism and attacking the Alexanrian texts to support KJV Onlyism.
They also seem to think men are holier if they have a beard. (this one is amusing)

It probably has some decent teachings but is much too focussed on dogmatic religious tradition for my liking.

I too saw the article about beards. It would have been fine if it had been titled, "A Biblical Study of Beards". Instead, it had a stupid clickbait title. The site editors should have had enough sense to reject it on that basis.

I've been listening to Michael Heiser for probably close to two years. He's no polytheist, and he's no heretic. The review that Nehemiah6 cited is not worth reading. Instead, I recommend that people go to Heiser's own site, drmsh.com. There they can find what he actually beleives, instead of taking the words of a single inept, closed-minded reviewer as their only witness.
