31Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him .

33¶When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

It says ' Israel ' . This is what the verses say . look at them.
Israel in Acts 5:31 is the Church, Gods Elect from all nations. Gentiles belong to this Israel Acts 11:18 So God doesnt give repentance to all men without exception, but unto Israel.

29¶Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30The God of OUR FATHERS raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

I have no problem with what Peter said. Repentance is given to a certain chosen people, Israel. Peter said that here Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

In your mind your thinking ' causes them to repent and believe. ' Your forcing the doctrine ' regeneration precedes faith ' onto the text . No where does it says this . No where does it say God exclusively gives individuals causative ' sprinkles '. God grants the Gentiles to the party ,so to speak . The invitation is out . They are invited .

If it said ' caused them to repent ' you might have something. A certain man sought repentence from his father but it was not granted.

Hebrews 12:17

“For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

Was not granted to him . He sought it .
Israel and Gentiles can find it . It is granted to them
All without distinction can repent and be recieved .

It is received, thats what constitutes it a gift !
It is a gift because it is not something we earn or deserve.

And because God is good :) It is up to us to accept, or reject.

Thats what it means, the giving is a causation Ezk 36:26-27

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Thats error. Its a Gift because its given and its undeserving, and its not for all, but given to Gods Elect only.

Really, now? So you have earned and deserve the gifts God freely gives? Yet you do not receive them???

In other words, what I said stands. You are mistaken to say it is in error.

Or just flat out wrong ;):giggle:

Ok but that's Israel in the future . Thats not happening now. Thats the equivalent of taking a verse in revelation and applying it for today .

You need a' exclusive ' verse to back up your doctrine. You don't have one . No verse says its withheld from some . No verse says the very thing you believe . No verse says its withheld from some. Or ' only some can have or will have ' nothing of the sort . You deriving it from the idea then you think this is the proof text for it.

It cannot be said today that Gentiles and Jews cannot seek repentance. God had granted them to do so . All .
You not making sense. God gives Repentance to Spiritual Israel Acts 5 13 which includes Gentiles Acts 11 18

Repentance is specifically said to be given to Israel, Gods Elect. Israel isnt everyone. Read Acts 5:31

No Gentile is in focus in Ezekiel 36 . I believe the bible when it says what it means and means what it says . The ' everything is ' spiritual ' approach to scripture when it clashes with the system , is a major problem.

Where does it SAY 'spiritual ' Israel . Nearly every comment you quote something that the bible never says . Have you noticed?
