False Religions and Cults have always taught a works based salvation. But then there are cults which are a bit more subtil in how they do it. Mormonism is one of those cults. And Mormons are so subtil and deceptive in how they operate and teach, that Christians have had to write articles explaining the difference between 'Christian Grace' and 'Mormon Grace.' Since Mormons (like Catholics) use the very same terminology (terms such as: Grace, Salvation, Heaven, Mercy, etc.) that Christians use. The only thing is, the Mormons redefine those terms. And 'Mormon Grace' is NOT Bible Grace. This is why it is so important to allow the Holy Bible to define its own terms. If it weren't for God's living, infallible word, the blessed King James Holy Bible, we would not know what true Grace is. And we would not know what Mercy and Salvation are. The way Mormonism attacks Biblical Grace, is that it redefines it. As you will see in the upcoming teaching. Mormons believe they merit and earn grace by performing good works. And only after doing all that they can do. In other words, they believe they have to be worthy and deserving of Grace. This is NOT Grace at all. True Grace can NOT be merited. If we have to do something to earn or merit Grace, it is not real Grace. True Grace is defined by God's word, the King James Bible. And according to the Holy Bible, Grace is unmeritable. It cannot be earned. It can only be received. This is also why a person does not have to repent of or turn from his sins in order to be saved. For If one did have to quit and stop sinning before he could be saved, then he would have to do good works to be saved. And we know this is not true, since the Bible says Salvation is by Grace through Faith. Only a Christian can repent and turn from his sins, since he has Two Natures and has the Holy Ghost in him.
What is the Impossible gospel?
The "impossible gospel" is a presentation to Mormons showing the hopelessness and impossibility of the Mormon gospel. It attempts to help Mormons reflect on the actual teachings of Mormonism and the Book of Mormon. It is designed to remove the complacency and lack of urgency most Mormons have toward their own teachings on the gospel. In the teaching to follow, Keith Walker speaks on Mormonism's unrealistic view of repentance and contrasts it with a Biblical view of grace. In his message, Keith also gives a definition of Repentance. But the two kinds of Repentance should be mentioned beforehand. Remember, Repentance Before Salvation is simply a Conversion of One's Trust. It is when a sinner converts his trust from anything that he is trusting in, and converts that trust onto Jesus Christ alone for Salvation. Repentance before Salvation can also be described as a Conversion of One's Trust from dumb idols & dead works UNTO the living Word (Jesus Christ) and His Finished Work on Calvary's Cross. After Salvation, then a person can Repent of their sins. In other words, Repentance of Sins is only for saved people.
