That's evasive. I didn't ask if the events are historical.
What he said to them was true and it took place as we read in the book of acts . It was true then and when we read about what happened we can trust that its still true today, what Jesus said to them and it taking place for them .

That says little about discernment or the interior life
I think it shows how we should believe what the bible actually says . Not wishy washy " I feel God is teaching this in this verse , how does it make you feel " ect .

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
And the Holy Spirit does what then? What is He for? A fifth wheel or something? Or maybe a just in case?

See how far you can get on your version of love. Done with this nonsense.

Why does that matter today? Do you think that is necessary for a reminder of what He meant 2000 years ago?
Are you saying....You don't forget righteous things we are to do?...if so you are the only one.
The Holy Spirit help's us in many ways....thus ....The Comforter...........

We must include Bible reading as part of our righteous life style. It will help with understanding.

I. Couldn't say that. The Holy Spirit works in individuals as individuals and the Church as a Church. He isn't going to guide you or I to all truth, that is for the Church. You know like what Peter said about interpreting scripture. It is not for any one man to do?

Hmm. Sounds good but completely avoids the question.

Believers trust in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation. (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.)
Non believers do not. (2 Corinthians 4:3,4)

So the beatles were really preaching a message from God ,when they sang " all you need is love " ?
In the sense that God is love (1 John 4:7-8 & 16); then yes, all you need is love/God.

Hi SophieT, The Holy Spirit enlightens us with the truth.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

You keep referring to then and now. Are you of the opinion that The Bible changes as time goes on?
