The interpretation of the bible prophesy is very much debated, There are so many views on bible prophesy, i can understand why people are confused.

Babylon means confusion, and today there is a lot of that around.

Truth mixed with error (90% truth or 25% truth) will still lead you to error in some way. Understanding where many of the theories come from will help people to know if they are building on solid ground or moving sand.

If your interpretation of revelation and prophesy is based on futurism or preterism you need to seriously reconsider your view.

The papacy suffered a major setback through the Reformation. They were losing their hold on the world, because the truth was coming out about them. Futurism and preterism did not exist as a major belief until the church asked for some doctrines to be invented that would counteract the teachings of the reformers.
With declarations by pen and voice, the reformers stated that the Papacy was the specified Antichrist of prophecy. The symbols of Daniel, Paul, and John were applied with tremendous effect. Hundreds of books and tracts were giving light to the people about who the Catholic church was (It was the dark ages for a reason). Indeed it gained so great a hold upon the minds of men that Rome, in alarm, saw that she must successfully counteract this identification of Antichrist with the Papacy, or lose the battle. The Jesuits were summoned to aid in the extremity, and cleverly provided the very method needed both for defense and for attack.

Rome’s answer was twofold, though actually conflicting and contradictory. Through the Jesuits Ribera, of Salamanca, Spain, and Bellarmine, of Rome, the Papacy put forth her futurist interpretation. Almost simultaneously Alcazar, Spanish Jesuit of Seville, advanced the conflicting preterist interpretation. These were designed to meet and overwhelm the Historical interpretation of the Protestants. The aim of both worked well..

The one (preterism) accomplished it by making prophecy stop altogether short of papal Rome's career.
The other (futurism) achieved it by making it overleap the immense era of papal dominance, crowding Antichrist into a small fragment of time in the still distant future, just before the great consummation. It is consequently often called the gap theory.

Knowing where these lies came from, it is sad to see the confusion and lies still used today.

Pleeeeaaasse don't use the phrase 'the church' when referring to the RCC. It appallingly misses the mark with regard to definition and severely so with regard to representation.

At no time in history has the RCC actually been a part of anything that can appropriately be called 'the church' with regard to the body of Christ.

It is 100% deception where spiritual things are concerned -
and, always has been...

Between these two erroneous views (in terms of prophetic chronology) is where the actual truth may be found.

The best single word I know to describe where on the prophetic chronology line it falls is 'historicism'.

Some prophecy fulfilled. Some yet to be fulfilled.

The pagan teachings of the past are all in there. Baptised paganism = Babylon
I'm not aiming to condemn the RC people because many of their people are great Christians. I want to show all churches that many of there teachings are based on a lie and deception. Most of those deceptions can be traced back to Rome.
i agree Historicism is what makes sense and is what the Bible supports.

It is erroneous to claim that the Bible supports historicism and imply that the Bible does not support either futurism or preterism. One can make a case from Scripture for any of the three, which is the reason why all three are held by genuine Christian believers.

By all means, investigate the origins of a view, but also investigate the content of the view, because it's the content that matters.

Why is this in Conspiracy and Corruption? Actually there should be a separate division for Bible Prophecy and that is where this should go.

We know that the Jesuits did their own Bible studies and presented their views on Bible prophecy. But that does not necessarily mean that other Christians are relying on the Jesuits. Indeed, most Christians have not even seen those writings.

There is no question that many of the Protestants adopted Preterism as their understanding of prophecy. But Preterism is actually absurd. The majority of the prophecies of Revelation will be fulfilled in the future.

Preterism is a long way from absurd. Full preterism, perhaps, but they are not the same thing.

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt:
for the tree is known by his fruit.
