Hey, i'm only 15 but i've had type 3 depression and once again it has gotten to an all time low, i really need prayers and i've also had a bad reaction to some of my new medication so i've been sick for the past two months and unable to go to school and missed out on all my half yearly exams and that has damaged my results for the school certificate. i'm not a good student but the tests do mean something. i've been self harming and attempting suicide for the past four years and i just need prayers :) thanks xx

hi BeeKay
I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time. I started with depression when i was 14, now i'm 35 & have only in the past 2 years really gotten past most of it. I did not have medication, or any help for that matter. I did drop into severe depression for a while as well. Now that my mind is better my health is bad, though haha. So i can relate to the sickness aspect as well. i had at times considered suicide, but never attempted. Things i would suggest that may help a bit, not stop the depression but maybe can help lessen it some. Exercise regularly. Get on a normal exercise routine 3-5 days a week, at least 20-30 minutes. Especially something cardio. Also your diet, try to eat healthy foods. Avoid fast food, sugary stuff, caffeine, processed, etc. Also, keep talking about it & venting, don't hold it in or assume you can handle it by yourself. Too, anything that you find you enjoy that doesn't conflict with what i said already, try to involve yourself in it a lot. I made some of these suggestions to someone who had depression, a few months later i talked to them again, they had put this stuff into practice & said they noticed an obvious improvement in their depression. So it does help. I'm assuming you're seeing a psychiatrist to talk to reguarly as well?
Also see if you can having testing done to verify that you aren't having a physical problem that is causing, or instigating this. And of course, continue your prayers & bible reading. Hopefully something in here is new & helps & i'm not just repeating what you already know. If so i'm sorry, but i tried. (=
If you care to talk more about it feel to CCmail me. I know we have quite an age gap & if you aren't comfortable talking to me through mail that is understandable. Whether we talk again or not, just keep seeking help & don't give up. I will put you in my next prayers. Take care.

Dear Sister Beth, hang on, God has a wonderful life

waiting for you. You have barely begun to live, you have so much joy to look forward to.

I also suffered from depression, I know some of the feelings you are going through.

This helped me, I hope it helps you too: (Give God a chance):
"Oh Lord, how long must I call for help before you listen?
I shout to You in vain; there is no answer. Help Murder! I cry, but no one comes to save. Must I forever see this sin and sadness all around me?

Wherever I look, there is oppression and bribery and men who love to argue and to fight. The law is not enforced and there is no justice given in the courts, for the wicked far outnumber the righteous, and bribes and trickery prevail."

"The Lord replied; Look and be amazed! You will be astounded at what I am about to do! For I am going to do something in your own lifetime that you will have to see to believe." Habakkuk 1: 3-5 Does it not feel right
?
Does it not feel like something tremendous is about to happen? It is in the air! Are you ready?

Dear Lord Jesus, please forgive me for my sins, cast all negative, fearful, doubting spirits far from me, heal me physically, mentally, spiritually, grant me the gift of faith,
wisdom, peace, tranquility, joy, and the certainty that you will never leave me, fill me now with your Holy Spirit, lead and guide my future path in life, these things I ask in Jesus name, Amen

Dear brothers and sisters, speak to our Father often, read His word a bit everyday, go out and find your brothers and sisters of The Almighty God !!! Remember, Salvation is not a feeling, God is with us always. It is only feelings that change. God will return joy to your life, stay close to Him !!!

May God pour out His richest blessings upon you and yours !!! Have a great day in Jesus.

Love in Jesus Christ
bro Gary

P.S. give your doctors time, they will get your meds right.
In the mean time, God will not abandon you. Don't you abandon Him !!!

I believe sin causes depression. Make sure you are leading a sin-free life.

Let me add that I used to experience depression, and I sought counseling several times. Turning from sin has pretty much eliminated all depression in my life.

Thiis is good and all but lets not take away the fact that human beings experience emotion apart from sin.
Also we experience trial apart from sin.
Just look at the entire book of Job.

I'm not saying I disagree, i've gotten rid of some level of depression by confessing and being forgiven.
