When George said I cant breathe, Chauvin should have got off his neck. What do you or Chauvin think would happen when you stop someone's breath? Is that how the officers are trained to restrain someone?

He should have plead guilty, and accept responsibilty. Where is the remorse? Why was he trying to transfer his assets to his ex wife?

He should have taken the stand and explain to the public what happened and how he didnt intend to kill Floyd. Why didnt he?

He would have been advised by his lawyer not to and that it would lose the case if he did. His lawyer was barely capable though. I'd have fired him first day if he was my defense. I don't believe Chauvin intended to kill Floyd. Floyd was a big man and police hear all the time criminals screaming that they are being hurt when they aren't.

I recall I was away from home one night and when I came back hubby said "You missed the show last night"! I asked why. He said cops were at the neighbors house a few doors down. There was such a fuss he stepped out on our porch and saw a heavy set woman who was drunk fighting and screaming at the cops. Hubby said she was screaming "Stop hitting me! You're going to kill me!" Hubby laughed and said no one was even near her, then she began hitting herself. Now this is in a quiet neighborhood where everyone has little kids, responsibilities and work for a living. This doesn't happen in our neighborhood. I think that family has since moved away.

I think police become jaded after a while, they've heard it all. People lie in their faces. I don't believe Chauvin intended to kill Floyd. And I don't believe it had anything to do with race. Now the case has set a precedent. A young black girl just attempted to murder another black girl with a knife and a cop shot her. And here we go all over again with the cop was racist.

back in the 30s because some white folk were snobby, and didnt want to work on the same line with black folk at the Packard cars in detroit, the entire city was thrown in to disarray. People died because of this?!

Your confused because it was unlawful. Minnesota law defines these as in the OP. By definition 2 of the charges definitely was not proven in the evidence. Neither was the idea of a racist motive. But I feel they felt the pressure of the mob, politicians, and the president.

The "president" and his sidekick said what side they were on before the verdict came out. And Maxine Waters was all up in it, and flapping her mouth. The crowd can do the happy dance now, but we'll have to wait and see what the appeal process brings.

Technically he was complaining about not being able to breathe before anyone touched him. But continued to resist arrest. His autopsy showed a lethal dose of fentanyl which impacts breathing. Two contradicting autopsies. Did officer Chauvin act in neglect and should be charged with manslaughter? I believe so. Was it his intention to kill him? To prove this, you must have evidence showing he wanted to kill Floyd. To know that, you must know his thoughts. Good luck proving that in less you have a voice recording or something premeditated.

Was the jury influenced by the rioting, politicians, media, and the president? Likely but this also must be proved.

It seems to be that way due to two charges that are defined under Minnesota state law do not fit the evidence.

If this has become a new reality then we are entering into a new judicial system operated by mob rule, opinions, feelings, and no longer facts.

Just as the trial was taking place we had two more shootings that the media pushed to fit the narrative that America is systemically racist. Each case was a justified shooting under the law. One was to prevent a girl from being stabbed and the other was a kid gang member who was shooting at cars at night, at 2:00 in the morning. He ran and decided to turn to face the police as he was dropping the gun in the dark.

Emotion and feelings now defeat facts.

We cry for the criminal while wishing death on the police. Sad times in America.

His lawyer was horrible and should have been fired. Now Floyd is a martyr and people are saying God answered their prayers. As you said, this man was a career criminal. And now what have we got going? Every time a POC is shot by police it's a race issue. And if you disagree you are a racist. IDK what I would have done had I been on that jury, I could not have gone with the flow. Reminds me of an old movie I just watched "12 Angry Men". Very pertinent to our times I think.

Shoot I have a female German Shepard who is a lot less than 150 pounds and when she decides she's going after something or someone, my 6'4, 220 hubby can't hold her back and she's just a dog. Someone on drugs certainly has power that seems super human. My mother was a nurse and told stories of people coming in high and they'd have to get orderlies in to subdue them. One nurse was tossed across the room like a rag doll. Floyd was a big man with a lot of power.

Yes PCP was not in his system but the point of the video is that when you are on drugs, obviously some are worse than others, it can greatly affect how you respond to situations. Also from personal experience when the adrenaline starts pumping, you really can withstand things you normally wouldn't. Also from my high school days, I on one occasion decided to get high on marijuana and vodka at the same time. I got so torn up and the police showed up. I was running through thorns barefooted ( no pain) I ran into a neighbors clothesline with my neck. Bleeding ear to ear it took me off my feet and straight on my back. Laughing the whole time.

Also if you watch the video, you will see what you describe. A blood choke takes both sides of the neck being compressed. A wind choke takes the windpipe. His knee was on the back/side of Floyd's neck. Which may not have even hit the right side vein. It takes putting pressure on both.

In a blood choke, you attack the sides of the neck! This pressure on the side of the neck compresses the arteries and veins that circulate blood to and from the brain, causing your target to blackout. Properly applied a blood choke can knock someone out in about 10 seconds, and sometimes even less.

And from personal experience, it does usually take less than 10 seconds. Once out, if blood flow isn't continued, they can die in less than 10 seconds also.



The two on the left are the blood choke. One on the right is the air or wind choke. One compresses the veins leading to the brain on each side of your neck, while the other compresses the windpipe. Blood chokes are safer due to how easy it is to break the windpipe. If you break that, the only way to save them is to cut a slot in their neck where the windpipe is so that they can get outside air.

We are homeschooling our kids. My wife and another homeschool mom are looking to start a Christian school. Starting out with handful of kids basically doing home school curriculum. But we must fight for school choice to make these options easier.

Floyd was a big guy. So what? Big guys dont feel pain, so you have to subject them to cruel and inhumane treatment?

Not only did he say he cant breathe, the big man cried out for his mama, and even then no mercy was shown. Even if floyd was lying when he said he couldnt breathe, Chauvin should have taken heed. Floyd did not have a gun or was going to escape from them or kill anyone. No need for such excessive force.

If in fact he had complained before about not being able to breathe, then all the more reason for the officer not to have put his knee on that man's neck.
