yes, you did you said dead saints are praying for us to support the false teaching of those on earth can pray to dead saints be honest. Please leave.
I believe that saints pray for us.

However, I never said in Rev 5:8 that the elders were delivering the elders prayers to God. It’s why you can’t tell me a post number that shows i said that. You’re lying.

That is not true, if it had always been doctrine they would not of needed to come together and make the decision for the Church. They did not appeal to the Bible to make that decision either.

Your missing the point of the text.

The apostles and elders met to consider this question. After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

The Jerusalem council did not 'make' a Doctrine, they re - affirmed (Acts 15:7-8)what was already a teaching in the church which the judaisers where trying to pervert cf. Acts 15:1; 5.

What question did they meet to discuss? And why?

you said in response to me saying praying to dead saints and thier prayers for us you said in this post:

Brother, you need to read a few verses before the verse that says Christ is the one mediator. 1 Tim Ch 2:1

In that verse Paul tells us this:
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men”.

That makes us mediators. It doesn’t take away from Christ at all for us to fill that role in prayer for others. I provided you a specific verse that showed Christians in heaven

giving prayers to God from people on Earth. You also don’t believe in the communion of the saints so I’m not surprised.

There you go, now you can leave.

The question was whether gentiles need to observe Jewish customs to be Christians. That was a question that split the church. Peter settled the doctrinal issue at that council. These kinds of ecumenical councils are biblical and necessary and it’s happened 21 times I believe.

You are dense...
The elders gave the prayers of the saints to God. I’ve been saying that all along. I have no idea why your reading comprehension is so bad but you should probably seek help for it.

What did Peter say in verse 7?

What did they already know (see verse 8-9)?

Now read verses 12- 19.

Here’s what Peter says in verse 7:
...that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

He appealed to the Oral Tradition of the Church.

The church had an issue that needed to be solved, that council solved it.

He appealed to the Oral Tradition of the Church.

The church had an issue that needed to be solved, that council solved it.
And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe

Of course Peter used his lips/mouth we see him presenting this very same gospel (note v7 above) in Acts 2.

We have those words now in written form, God in his providence made sure of that.

The Gospel solved the judaiser issue. The council just proclaimed and re affirmed what that Gospel was. Also James used scripture itself to agree with the Gospel truth and to refute Judaisers. As I mentioned above read verses 12-19.

Peter was in full agreement with Paul on the gospel message that we now have in written form.

This Jerusalem council is a very important one. We cannot add to the gospel or take away. Rome does the very thing the Pharisees did and the Judaisers attempted.

-------------------

We have all that God says we need in scripture, It is inerrant, Sufficient and clear.

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30–31, NIV)

Nowhere in the entire New Testament claims that all that is necessary for us as Christians to know is written down in the New Testament. Not one place.

The Catholic Church is the same church you see gathered at the Council of Jerusalem, apostolic succession proves this.

Saying scripture is clear enough to do the job of arriving at the truth of our faith is false. Protestantism proves this by the fact that Protestant Christians all over the world go to the Bible alone and arrive at different conclusions. That’s why Christ instituted the Church to make our faith clear.

Sola Scriptura does not work. There was no canonized Bible to be Sola about for 400 years. You also cannot discern the canon of scripture from scripture. There is no inspired table of contents written by an apostle. You need Christ’s church to settle that, which is what happened.

Exactly, so why would Christ mention asking our departed brothers and sisters in heaven to pray for us if there were none yet? He wouldn’t, which is why he wouldn’t have taught his disciples about praying that way at that time.
Where does Christ give a directive to pray to the dead?

I think I've heard enough now. I will leave with a couple of thoughts.

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30–31, NIV)

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:14-17).

25 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

So who do you think is not God? The Father? Jesus? Or the Holy Spirit?
Which of these are not God.
You are attempting to trap me in admitting something that you believe supports the Trinity, but it does not.

All 3 are God ... BUT that does NOT prove the Trinity in ANY way.

They are 3 aspects/characteristics of God, NOT 3 'DISTINCT' entities/persons that also happen to be one god - as the Trinity doctrine claims.

Me, myself and I are ALL ME ... BUT here is what so many are NOT grasping:

All 3 aspects of myself 'ARE' all me. They are NOT Distinct persons within myself.
Webster's New World Dictionary, copyright 1968

Distinct ... 1. not alike; different 2. not the same; separate; individual
Me 'IS' myself, ... myself 'IS' I ... and I 'IS' me.

You see? This in NO WAY supports the Trinity doctrine.

The Father 'IS' the Son.

"... he that hath seen Me, hath seen the Father; ..." (Jesus speaking: John 14:9)

The Son 'IS' the Father.

"I and the Father are one." (Jesus speaking: John 10:30)

Further, many worshiped Jesus while he lived in the flesh and He did not tell them to stop, confirming His acceptance to them that He WAS God.

John 1:1-4 further proves that they are ONE, and NOT separate beings or persons. They are ONE.

And, again, there is no mention whatsoever of any 3rd member of their one-ness.

Thats correct but God in his wisdom wrote the following knowing that there would be people willing to usurp the gospel.

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30–31, NIV)

The sacred writings are the Old Testament, not the new in the verse.

All the things learned and believed in those verses are from the Oral Tradition handed down. The same oral tradition the Catholic Church has continued to pass down. You still can’t show me in Bible where the Bible Alone is the sole infallible rule of our faith.

The Bible equips you (with the right teacher) but not in and of itself.

Now we have the full and complete sacred writings of all those word's orated and taught. That God deemed sufficient for us.

As seen by what Paul says in verse 14 (2 Tim 3).

and also what John who lived to the AD 90's says.

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30–31, NIV)

So its up to you whether you believe scripture sufficient or insufficient for all matters of faith.
