Ok, so 8 people say yes, and 4 people say no. All I can say is...

I thought this was supposed to be a CHRISTIAN forum.

I'm obviously mistaken.

Should mean, disrespectful people be allowed in CC?
well considering being mean and disrespectful is not of God and shouldent be within a christians attitude i would say no they shouldent be allowed. As Christians we are supposed to build each other and with the wrong attitude we can turn people away.As Christians we represent are Lord and we should walk and talk with joy,peace,patience,kindness,goodness,faithfulness,gentleness,self-control and Love. After all one of are Lords commandments is that we Love one another.

This is my commandment, that ye love one another,as I have loved you. (John15:12)

These things I command you, that ye love one another (John 15:17)

GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Mean and disrespectful people are some of the hardest parts of my life!! I am sorry but NOOO they should not be allowed here....
I had a friend, she was so mean. I really loved her, but it got harder to love her everyday. So I finally confront her and tell her, I was crying -she made me cry and I am a big girl I don't cry for nothing... guess what she told me? she was being mean to help me prepare to meet mean people in college!!! I mean who says or thinks that?.... so mean is bad especially when they think they are helping

* she was not really a friend but there are very few people in my school that everyone in my class has to be friends, just can't get away from them

i don't know zero, someone just finished telling me that I'm mean, hypocritical and a few other things and I really try not to be any of those things. how can one judge if the person is "mean" and "disrespectful"?

I just think everyone should respect what God writes and not twist it to fit their ideas and cover their sin. If I disagree with someone they tell me I'm attacking them and being mean.

I don't know it seems so subjective that a critique would be hard to set up for what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior based on just two words "mean, disrespectful"

Everyone should act as Christians but not everyone on this site ARE Christians. Many have a different idea what a Christian should be like. I wish we could focus more on what we have in common and less on the differences. if we could find a way to build up the good things in each other and share lessons learned on how to not just read but LIVE God's words. That is what I look for at any Christian gathering and I have to say I've been blessed to meet some on this site who do just that. I find it encouraging and thank God for placing them in my life.

When I voted yes, I was just thinking of those moments you could have with them. Like... God is the author of our lives, the Alpha and the Omega. Who are we to turn away from those who need our help? Are we not to turn the other cheek if anyone attacks us? It is true that is is a christian site, but we are called to help those who need it. You never know when you can flip that coin in their minds and reveal that light God has provided for us. Paul is a good example of that. And I'm pretty sure most of us know his past reputation as a persecuter of the early christians.

I do not know what the point I'm trying to make here is... Sounds pretty scatterbrained to me. But, all in all, I'm driven to love no matter how the situation is when it comes to disrespectful people. It was out of love that Christ died for them, therfore I must love them just as He does*.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
...gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

I can pretty confidently say this whole thread is because of me.

Zero, I don't apologise for speaking my mind but I do apologise for the way in which I voiced it and Im sorry that this has obviously been on your mind enough to write 3 posts and email me your taking back your respect for my testimony. Im sorry that one comment from me, convinced you that I should be banned, nothing excuses my behaviour except I usually go onto CC after a long tiring day while Im in a grumpy mood and expecting threads to have some constructive purpose to them (God knows you wont get it in the Bible Study Thread lol)

Here is another thing, none of us are perfect. Some people like and respect my blunt truthfulness (usually those who know me very well). Sometimes I lose patience and admittedly can be harsh, mean spirited and grumpy. Sometimes, I don't act Christian in the morning until Ive had a coffee (that was a joke btw). The thing is, only Jesus is perfect. Yes, this website is indeed called 'ChristianChat.com' but we all know not a single person who comes here is perfectly Christian.

Again I apologise for upsetting you, but I'll finish you with this -

Its ok, I overreacted. I am really good at overreacting when I think someone meant to hurt my feelings. Its probably because I got bullied all through my childhood and no one ever stood up for me. I know it sounds like a weak excuse but it affects me so much that I often begin thinking about suicide. I asked God one time why it affects me so much and he revealed to me that its because of the humiliation, helplessness and pain that I felt when I was a kid. Besides being bullied, I was also abused. Not sexually, but verbally and physically. I guess I will always be a step away from depression and suicide.

Anyway, thank u so much for caring enough to apologize for upsetting me. I know it takes a lot to apologize. I hope u succeed as an OT and that your school gets rebuilt ahead of schedule. I apologize to you for overreacting and making a mountain out of nothing. I completely understand how you can be in that frame of mind that you described. I wish I had somehow known that was what u were thinking. I get in those moods too so I totally understand.
