Ok, but you didn't address the fact that God sent an evil Spirit to not only torment Saul, but to also cause him to hunt down king David, the Father of Christ, the Incorruptible Seed. If God takes responsibility for Saul, and He does, then he is responsible for the sin that ensued. God doesn't have a problem with this . . . for He makes all things right. This is what the entire Bible is about . . . redeeming His Chosen ones as the theme of His Eternal Plan.
You seem to have misunderstood what only God is good.

I did mean to to address that, but I often reword my posts and I didn't put that back into my edit.

God's Spirit left Saul. Why? Without looking at it, I'll say it was because he somehow sinned, and so God sent an evil spirit to torment him, the judgment of sin... all while keeping David from the evil Saul meant to incur upon him... claiming that God takes responsibility for Saul implies that Saul is cleared of all responsibility.

Nah. Samuel told Isreal exactly what would happen, now that they were wanting a king so they could "be like everyone else."

There is a Plan of God . . . and this Plan is being fulfilled. God is responsible for all things that take place on earth.

1 Samuel 8:10-22 NLT - "So Samuel passed on the LORD's warning to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 "This is how a king will reign over you," Samuel said. "The king will draft your sons and assign them to his chariots and his charioteers, making them run before his chariots. 12 Some will be generals and captains in his army, some will be forced to plow in his fields and harvest his crops, and some will make his weapons and chariot equipment. 13 The king will take your daughters from you and force them to cook and bake and make perfumes for him. 14 He will take away the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his own officials. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and your grape harvest and distribute it among his officers and attendants. 16 He will take your male and female slaves and demand the finest of your cattle and donkeys for his own use. 17 He will demand a tenth of your flocks, and you will be his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will beg for relief from this king you are demanding, but then the LORD will not help you." 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel's warning. "Even so, we still want a king," they said. 20 "We want to be like the nations around us. Our king will judge us and lead us into battle." 21 So Samuel repeated to the LORD what the people had said, 22 and the LORD replied, "Do as they say, and give them a king." Then Samuel agreed and sent the people home."

Great . . . the KJV. Here are several Keystone Passage from the KJV Bible that everyone should memorize. The below passages are the Mysterious Plan of God:

The Holy Vision and Plan of God
Ephesians 2:10-16
KJV - "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye [being] in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby . . ."

Ephesians 3:1-13 KJV - "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory."

True Circumcision For All People
Romans 2:28-29 KJV
- "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God."

Circumcise My Heart, Lord
Deuteronomy 30:6 KJV
- "And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live."

Remove My Heart of Stone, Father
Ezekiel 36:25-27 KJV
- "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them]."

Remove My Sinful Nature, Lord
Colossians 2:9-15 KJV
- "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

Remove Me From Your Holy Curse, Father
Galatians 3:13 KJV
- "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree . . ."

Grant To Unto Me A New, Divine Nature, Lord
2 Peter 1:4 KJV
- "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

My Old Life Is Gone - My New Life Begins
2 Corinthians 5:13-21 KJV
- "For whether we be beside ourselves, [it is] to God: or whether we be sober, [it is] for your cause. 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And [that] he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more. 17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

I Will Reflect Your Glory With Increasing Measure
2 Corinthians 3:14-18 KJV
- "But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord."

Free And Reborn Of God, I Possess No Pattern Of Sin
1 John 3:8-10 KJV
- "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

Please forgive any errors (if there are any) . . . I just slammed this together.

God is the cause of problems because He can solve them? I just think something more fitting than 'responsible for,' applies here. There's something off about that phrase in this particular context.

Oh, ok. Well, I suggest reading the entire Bible in a timeline, chronological order and I'm sure that you'll see the actual Biblical story too. Let me know if you need a copy of that Bible reading plan.

You don't like reading the Word of God. Ok . . . well now things make sense.

Take care . . . I can see that this discussion will amount to dust.
I can see you have no qualms about perverting the truth, your right in that there can be no true conversing then, that is.

That's a rather interesting thing to assume, and falsely judge, from a "Senior member."

To the ignore list you go for such a harsh attitude. Good luck to ya.

2 points of what you wrote that i would like to touch upon :

- BAD THINGS against those who come against Him

- wicked, (-ly, -ness, one)

So you mean to say He creates wicked (wickedly , wickedness , wicked one) ?
And how did you elaborate the verse in this way.... BAD THINGS against those who come against Him

Through a Bible study? Please give me the source of your study. I would like to see for myself.
Easy, if you get out of the complex mode and realize it just means God curses those who are against him and Blesses those who are for Him, thus brings Peace and Troubles. In other words, I CREATE PEACE...............and I CREATE TROUBLES.

People tend to overthink things, that's what the Pharisees and Nicodemus did. It's pretty simple, a Holy God doesn't create Evil, God being eternal and Holy means Evil has always existed. It's the opposite of God, it's just that simple.

Curious: What does Isaiah 45:7 say in your Bible? Mine says this:

Isaiah 45:7 KJV - 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things].

I don't worry about BAD TRANSLATIONS, I study the root words that were in Hebrew or Koine Greek in most cases. There are many bad translations, God is not going to allow that excuse for being wrong, especially with us modern guys who have computers, we can study these things like no Generation before us, we have it made.

Did you check out the Hebrew word ra which has been translated as evil? It actually means adversity, distress, calamities (natural disasters). While calamities have evil consequences (since they are ultimately divine judgments), that does not mean that God creates (or created) sin and evil. That would contradict the FACT that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all. So the title of this thread reveals ignorance about the character of God. And ignorance is no excuse.

Oh, ok. So how does your favorite translation phrase Isaiah 45:7?
