In striving to be like Jesus-Yeshua, it seems only natural to be baptized with water. This is imitating our Savior, and a gesture of love, not simply obedience.

Rightly Divided "study" Is God's Answer to the reigning Confusion of modern
"pick and choose" theology/discrepancy, not "knowing WHICH Should we follow":

The word is divided for us, it tells us what we must follow to be saved and what to follow to live a life pleasing to God.

Scripture tells us we mus follow the commands to have faith in Christ, to repent, to forgive others so we can be forgiven. These things must be followed if we are to live eternally.

When we do this, we are given the Holy Spirit that lives within us, and it gives us a desire to live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord.

And by the way----an apostle is a man who is personally taught by Christ, as the 12 apostles were. Paul was a special apostle, not taught by Christ in the fresh, but we are told that Paul met Christ in the spirit when he studied in Arabia, that he was not taught by men. Scripture tells us he was an apostle.

Gal. 1 15 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.

Is there "a risk" thinking that Only the red words are The
Most Important? What happens IF "THEY Are Considered
THE Most Important," but then THEY are DISOBEYED?

Further Q: Do These "Words In the 4 gospels, AND In Rom-Phm ALL" need to

Agree, God Has Made NO "mistakes." So how do we help Thread starter
p_rehbein when he asks "Which do I follow"? For example:

Christ taught the Twelve "Be perfect, forsake ALL, sell what you have, take
up your cross, and follow Me." (Matthew_5:48, 16:24, 19:21; Mark_8:34; 10:21;

I wondered about that also. No ritual is required to obtain salvation, and no ritual is required to maintain salvation.

The Holy Spirit entered into me long before I was baptized. In my original sharing circuit a brother advised me to be baptized in order to be as much like our Savior as possible, so I allowed him to baptize me I do not believe any require this but it sure was a wonderful experience and blessing.

If we look at the entire Word of God as a whole, and Inspired by God through the Holy Spirit, then it all is equally important because it all comes directly from God.

Not true. The Word perfectly describes that words/actions of the Apostles. Their contradictions are not the fault of God, but their various interpretations of the Gospel. Just consider the arguments that went on in the Church at Jerusalem (in Chpt. 15) Also consider that Paul said nature told us it was unnatural for men to have long hair, yet the mighty Lion (which is the symbol of Jesus on His return) has a beautiful LONG MANE. That isn't Gods fault, it's Pauls.......

Arguing that there is no difference between "in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost", and in the name of Jesus is just silly IMO

Very true. However, it does not address the Subject of the Thread. What was said when you were water baptized? What Jesus said? What the Apostles said?

Let me try this:

What was said by the person who water baptized you?

"I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"

"I baptize you in the name of Jesus"

The two are different. One was what Jesus INSTRUCTED the Apostles to do. One is what the Apostles are reported to have done.

WHICH should we follow? Jesus? the Apostles?

They are not the same. (I know this because there have been numerous arguments here concerning this subject. If we can not come together in the One Church on this, how will we POSSIBLY EVER be of one mind?

I don't recognize church authority or consider their teachings as I have been taught false doctrines in churches and have been offended by their graven images and idols. So, I answered the post's question directly.

If you and the other people here believe there is spiritual authority in churches, then you can all contemplate obedience or the like.
