I don't understand the catholic church I must admit. When it comes to things like abortion they are on the frontline of opposing it. The same with euthanasia.
Then you turn a corner and they believe all sorts of mumbo jumbo invented by them and dress up in all sorts of fancy dress that would make a drag queen proud. Over the years they have invented all sorts of ways to obtain ones salvation and ignored by grace alone.
Of course one of the worst aspects of the catholic church is the abuse of children by priests.

Their are several mistakenly made assumptions made by non Catholics over and over.
#1 They actually mean the RCC because there is another branch of Catholicism called the Orthodox church.
#2 Because the bible was closed off well more than a thousand years ago, anything that has been spoken or learned is immediately deemed as invalid by non Catholics. Both the RCC and the Orthodox churches are very similar in their faith system and they have a deep history with learnings from prophets going all the way back to Christ himself.
#3 So therefore this 'made up mumbo jumbo' is from over 2000 years worth of learning. And to say that if it aint in the bible it aint true is just ridiculous. These beliefs have stood the test of the ages because they have borne positive fruit.
#4 The rogue priests you talk of. If you are RCC and you've heard of the events of Fatima, Portugal then you are not surprised. We were warned about priests leading flocks into damnation.
I have not memorized the scriptures that say such things as:
Pray for those in sin.. I do not say to pray for those in [can't recall the exact words but the words Serious Sin come to mind]
Then there is the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is of course the unforgivable sin, whereas others are forgivable..
BTW the unforgivable sin IS not saying something. It is not saying things like "God is a jerk" or whatever... It is a turning away from the Truth of Jesus Christ, the truth of NEEDING His Gift of Salvation, KNOWING that this really is the Truth.
This is one reason most people end up in Hell: they reject Absolute Truth aka Jesus
well, this is what u have been told by the liberal media which also hates the Catholic Church (and it's "subsidiaries" the non-Catholic churches or communities [There is only ONE Church]).
you really ought to educate yourself rather than imbibing the fake news the media encourages us to imbibe. And also, the "priests" who abuse / molest children are in all likelihood infiltrators who despise the Church and want to bring scandal so that other Catholics fall away. Just because Jesus said that the very gates of Hell will not prevail against HIS Church does not mean the devil will not TRY to destroy it. And of course he has, he is doing so..
That's why I always tell people that it is the OLD Church I speak of when I say Catholic (unless i specify otherwise). This new thing ... is a new and different thing.. although Jesus is still There... you just have to ignore all the stupid humans you encounter.

Well, I have lived many moons on this earth and I see that most people ARE liars... and the ones who aren't are ignorant and don't know they are ignorant and... some don't care.. and etc... etc..
Sorry but I have to disagree with you. I do not under any circumstances imbibe fake news. I rarely read fake news. I have my sources who are usually at the rock face of things and expose fake news.

Nice try, but I am not one of those ignorant ones as I worked in the catholic education system so I saw everything first hand. And I specialised in asking dye in the wool catholics pertinent questions.

You don't have to believe what Catholics do. But being militantly against us isn't going to do anything either. I believe what I do because it resonates with me. I am perfectly fine with other versions of Christianity because I know our system isn't for everyone. How about you return the favour and play nice instead of running us down at every opportunity.
