Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:3-4
Not to be a pessimist but do you know what one usually has to go through before God's timing kicks in?
And how do you know when that is?
That usually means, having done all to stand against the devil and his onslaught against you and your loved ones, stand therefore...
In other words, trials and tribulations before things might fall into place or get better.
The question I ask is, what does one have to do in order to have the victory or before things fall into place?
Are we supposed to just ask God once and hope for the best, or are we supposed to stand and fight the good fight of Faith until we get the results we desire?

We THINK that we're in control of our lives. Ahhh . . . ignorance is bliss! :)

God warns us over and over in His Word that we will face trials. He also tells us He never leaves us to face our times of affliction alone. Here, in 1 Peter 5, God tells us that as we suffer affliction, He is working in us to perfect, establish, strengthen, settle us.

1 Peter 5:

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Other sections of Scripture tell us that we have been equipped to handle the onslaught of our adversary (Eph 6), that as we draw near to God, He will draw near to us (James 4) ... there are more references about how God works in us as we go through our trials.

I just figure that as I go through my times of affliction, God has His reason in having me go through (and I don't always understand the why's or the wherefores). I used to tell my kids "Life is full of lessons. What is the lesson we need to learn ... and what will it take for us to learn the lesson".

I'm just thankful God holds me in His mighty Hand even as I go through difficult times, and He is working within me doing those things He promises in 1 Peter 5:10.

Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced (Romans 10:11).
I am the LORD and that those who put their hope in Me and wait for my help will not be disappointed (Isaiah 49:23).

The only trouble with this is that many take this to believe that all will turn out fine in this life. This is a false narrative.

Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
