I've tried to explain that we have different positions. My intention is not just to argue back and forth that your position or my position is right. Rather, my intention is to get both of us to understand both of our positions, and then take a look at see what fits best. Otherwise, we're just going to blow past each other.

If you think you've answered my point of view simply by declaring what you believe, you've missed the point. And that's why you don't understand my questions.
I do understand your questions. I just do not and can not see them the way you want me to,

I agree with you. If God said "seven years" I'm sure that I would agree with it. But He didn't say "seven years"--He said "one Week."

Now this may translate to you as the equivalent of 7 years, but as I've argued, a 70 Week Period consists of a sequential series of weeks, the last of which may contain any portion of a 70th Week and still amount to a 70th Week. And making a covenant for the 70th Week can represent any portion of the 70th Week and still be a covenant on behalf of the 70th Week.

The point is, the 70th Week finishes off the period of 70 Weeks, whether the 70th Week is a full week or a half week. And since offering is terminated in the midst of the Week, I would have to say that this finishes the 70 Weeks period. It is the end of temple worship, or worship under the Law. The covenant with Israel under the Mosaic Law is terminated, and this ends the 70 Weeks Prophecy.

Now, there is prophecy that continues past the 70 Weeks, and that is the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. As Jesus said, "this generation will not pass away until all this takes place," namely the desolation of the temple and the desolation of Jerusalem.
The first 69 weeks were literal 7 years,

if the first 69 weeks are weeks of years, the. The last week should also be a week of years,

your doing what many a person has tried to do when part of a prophecy has been literally fulfilled, and the rest have not. You have turned to a spiritual or allegorical interpretation to try to make the prophecies as fulfilled already, because you do not want to see that there is yet prophecy to be fulfilled

other aspects of scripture which speak of the same time also put it at 7 years, some even number the days, equaling 3.5 years as the final half of the week.

you Can try to do that with prophecy if you want, but then we have no basis for which to come to an agreement,

Okay, so you are thinking that "the people" IS (or is not) connected with the [next word, pretty much...]... H7843 (verb):

"The KJV translates Strong's H7843 in the following manner: destroy (96x), corrupt (22x), mar (7x), destroyer (3x), corrupters (2x), waster (2x), spoilers (2x), battered (1x), corruptly (1x), miscellaneous (11x)."
[--BLB]

  1. to destroy, corrupt, go to ruin, decay
    1. (Niphal) to be marred, be spoiled, be corrupted, be corrupt, be injured, be ruined, be rotted
    2. (Piel)
      1. to spoil, ruin
      2. to pervert, corrupt, deal corruptly (morally)
    3. (Hiphil)
      1. to spoil, ruin, destroy
      2. to pervert, corrupt (morally)
      3. destroyer (participle)
    4. (Hophal) spoiled, ruined (participle)

I am working on this TDW. Am is used 1862 times in the OT ....1842 times it means people or similar, 17 times nation...
I will consult the Hebrew masters.

Rabbi Baruch uses this translation:
................will be cut off, but not for Himself

If you had a chicken leg and you cut off the drumstick because you wanted the drumstick, you could say:
"I cut off the drumstick"

If you cut off the drumstick because you wanted the thigh, you could say:
"I cut off the drumstick, but not because I wanted the drumstick" (it was because you wanted the thigh)

So what I understand here is that Christ (the Church) is cut off from Judea but not because he/it is the
direct object of the action - the object of the action is apostate Israel, upon whom grace is withdrawn and judgment falls.

Or, Artaxerxes in 457 BC... The rebuilding of the temple and the city were both implied in the original decree of Cyrus. The temple was rebuilt first, but the city remained unfinished.

Each successive king after Cyrus had to contend with Cyrus' original decree to rebuild both the temple and the city. Artaxerxes finished the job. He did make an official decree in 457 BC to restore worship at the temple, which was followed by the sanctioning of the city's rebuilding. Nehemiah had the walls of Jerusalem rebuilt during this time.

The 7 Weeks of Dan 9 corresponded with this time of Jerusalem's rebuilding. Then 62 Weeks followed until the 70th Week, when the Messiah would be cut off. In the midst of the 70th Week OT offerings ended. And after the 70 Weeks elapsed, the temple and the city would be destroyed once again by the Roman Army, the Abomination of Desolation.
Bafflegab IMO....

Why are some people tying themselves into knots when Jesus said "whoso readeth let him understand"? Which means we are supposed to understand the prophecies of Daniel after reading the Bible.

Why do people tie themselves in knots when Jesus says, "This generation..."?
Do you mean as in the Generation Jesus was speaking about or The Generation confused people think he was speaking about?

A lot of people are wed to the 70 or 80 years and thus their generational timing is off. The truth is it has nothing to do with 1948, nor 1967. Jesus is speaking to Israel whom he was sent unto (the lost sheep). He was asked when shall these things be. So since he had just spoken about the Temple he started there via Matt. 24:4-6. The disciples asked him two more questions also, what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world [as we know it, as run by Satan, OF COURSE]. So, Jesus told them about the 70 AD Sacking first in verses 4-6. Then the Church Age (verses 7-14) and then about the 70th week in verses 15-31, which of course is the Second Coming.

Along the way Jesus gives about 12 signs (I have counted before it's 10-12 things), He tells about the Church Age birth pangs/sorrows, the earthquakes, plagues (Black Death/AIDS) the Wars through the Church Age, the Disciples all getting killed save John. He tells about the LAST Church Age sign when the Gospel is preached unto all the world then the END (70th week......KEY HERE) will come. Before, in verse 6 he said the END is by and by or later on, so Jesus now informs us when this "END' will come !!

THE COMING 70TH WEEK "END" brings more signs !!

In Matt. 24:15 we see the AoD standing in the holy place. We see the Jewish peoples who repent, flee to the mountains also. In verse 24 we see the Anti-Christ and False Prophet. Then we get the very last sign (KEY SIGN Jesus is speaking about via ALL THINGS and THIS GENERATION) We are told by Jesus that the Sun and Moon will go dark, and IMMEDIATELY AFTER THOSE DAYS [END] you will see the Son of Man (Jesus) retuning in the Eastern Skies !!

Jesus then goes straight into the parable everyone's referring unto via ALL THESE THINGS and THIS GENERATION.

We have to tie the Parable to the LESSONS Jesus just taught us about as pertaining unto all the signs he gave us. Not doing that is a fatal mistake as per the timeline of the end-times, and the understanding thereof.

Matt. 24:32 Now learn a parable of the FIG TREE; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that SUMMER IS NIGH: 33 So likewise ye, WHEN YE SEE ALL OF THESE THINGS, know that it is near, even at the doors.

{{{{ This would be the Second Coming here, NOT THE RAPTURE, Jesus is speaking unto the Jewish peoples, not the Gentile Church. So, when they see ALL THESE THINGS, look for Jesus to return, and then set up the Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem. }}}}

34 Verily I say unto you, THIS GENERATION shall not pass, till ALL THESE THINGS be fulfilled.

THIS GENERATION......... Well, what generation is Jesus speaking about? The Generation that SEES ALL THESE THINGS Jesus just laid out, the ones I pointed out for everyone to see. So, the only Generation that can see ALL THESE THINGS (This is just common sense) has to be THE GENERATION that saw the Sun and Moon go Dark because no one can see ALL THESE THINGS unless :)cool:) they see the LAST SIGN !! So, since we know the Sun and Moon go dark during the 70th week then ONLY THOSE LIVING during the 70th week can see Jesus' Second Coming. (This is so commonsense-oriented, I do not understand why people even have to debate it, to be honest.)

I often wonder why this is so easy for me to see, yet when I point this out people really can't seem to grasp it, this is simple math my friends. It's like a 2 + 2 = 4 kind of equation, it's not that difficult. I actually believe it's tunnel vision syndrome. If I each a kid for 18 years that 2 + 2 = 5, then when someone informs him 2 + 2 = 4 he's going to be like, Nawwwwww, that's 5 man !! Then he will probably shake his head and roll his eyes. :geek:.

THAT GENERATION is obviously those people living during the 70th weekend times.

Neither; the generation to whom Jesus was speaking. "This" generation; the one alive in ~30 AD.

A lot of people are wed to the 70 or 80 years and thus their generational timing is off. The truth is it has nothing to do with 1948, nor 1967.

Jesus doesn't say you will see the Son of Man returning in the Eastern skies; I would encourage you to read more carefully.

Like I said, knots.

Obvious to those who have never been taught anything different, perhaps.

Given how consistently you demean others, I find your "buddy" rather disingenuous. Methinks you missed the parable on loving your neighbour.

Not confused N6.
It is just basic biblical exegesis my friend.

The Great Tribulation had some time chopped off it, in order to save the Church

Matt 24:22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened"

Paul tells us exactly the same - the last week of Daniel, the beginning of the Tribulation, is modified in order that the Church can escape

Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

No. It is the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus of 445BC. Daniel 9:25 speaks to rebuilding Jerusalem (the city), the street and the wall. Rebuilding the Temple is not even spoken of.
When did this building effort occur? Because THIS is referring to Dan 9:25. Undoubtedly.
BTW....you are so far in the wrong, so often, that I have had you on ignore for a long long time.

Neh 1:3
And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”

Neh 2:3
and said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the CITY, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?”

Neh 2:8
“and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy.” And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.

Neh 2:13
And I went out by night through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the Refuse Gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were burned with fire.

Neh 2:17
Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.”

Neh 6:1
Now it happened when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates),

Well, those dates are spurious anyhow. Artaxerxes is Darius, so his seventh year was 516AD and his twentieth year was 503AD.
Actually, there's debate about what names belonged to what kings. Some shared the same name. My view is not novel, nor a mistake.

No, you've got that all wrong. The Church is nowhere to be found in Matt 24.
BTW, it was a PRIVATE BRIEFING on the Mount of Olives, given ONLY to Peter, James, John and Andrew.

Mark 13:3,4
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him PRIVATELY, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”

How about post #453? I'd call that one pretty much a homerun, dispelling these unbiblical myths I keep hearing about on this thread. Yeah it was definitely 445 BC alright....
