I do not know much if anything at all really about all the issues with the chat apps, though I was in the chat rooms just after the platform change of 2018, and I do understand there have been a lot of issues with them since then. However, I was wondering why it is that you hate chatting on your phone. Is the type too small? Do you have an option to use speech to text? I use the mic most of the time now when I am messaging on my phone, though it is certainly far from perfect, since auto correct can be quite far off at times.

The Windows app has been broken for a couple years now and was never fixed, either officially nor unofficially. And most couldn't figure out the problem. And likely just brought more questions to Robo asking. Easier to remove it than fix it, or leave it for people to keep asking.
Nor do I think he even reads this thread.

The desktop apps broke after Adobe terminated their support of their AIR platform software. This has since been taken over by Harman, a subsidiary of Samsung. The desktop apps for Christian Chat depend on the AIR platform to operate. Both come with an older version of AIR integrated that no longer functions and so a 2 step installation has to be applied to get them working. Although they are no longer officialy linked to or supported by Roboop the desktop applications for both Windows and Mac are still available, therefore anyone can still install the desktop apps by doing the following:

Firstly follow the link to the AIR runtime installer and choose either Windows or Mac, depending on your system.

https://airsdk.harman.com/runtime

After installing the AIR runtime to your system, now follow the appropriate link from below for either Windows or Mac and download the Chat app.

https://christianchat.com/windows/

https://christianchat.com/mac/

After installing the chat app you should now be able to login on either platform.

PLEASE REMEMBER NEITHER OF THESE APPS IS CURRENTLY SUPPORTED BY ROBOOP AND YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If the Adobe AIR link isn't working because Adobe retired it go here:

How to Access CC Chat on Windows

1. Make sure you have downloaded Adobe Air first = https://airsdk.harman.com/runtime
2. Then, change the time on your computer to 24 November 2019 for about 5pm.
3. Click on https://christianchat.com/windows and download the Chat App executable install.
4. Double Click the downloaded file and install it.
5. Then set your time back to automatic sync and you're good to go.

Hey thank you for showing me the Harman app. I was using a Emulator with the phone app and it was way to slow while in chat.

The whole process is glitchy. I never bothered to install after the change of format a few years ago. IMO, the most interesting, in-depth conversations take place n the forums. Often, depending on the time and topic, you can get a response within a minute or two.

Surely there is a better voice and text chat option that could be used

I had to format my hard drive the other day and lost the christian chat app on windows 7. The following link takes you straight there:
https://christianchat.com/windows.
As mentioned in other posts, you need Adobe Air to run it. I downloaded Adobe Air from this site: https://adobe-air.en.softonic.com/.
Not sure if the next issue applies to Windows 10 but it applies to Windows 7. You need TLS 1.2 and that can be easily installed from this link:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-windows-c4bd73d2-31d7-761e-0178-11268bb10392.
From here you can scroll down to the section titled : Easy fix. It will come up with an installer for installing these protocols.
Finally, install christian chat app and you should be good to go.
If it still doesn't connect, ensure your firewall allows it. This worked for me yesterday and hope it helps others too if needed.
