@Hungry speaks some truth. He's got my respect. I'm standing with him on this. Everyone else is reading their Bible from the context of our post-modern hyper-feminized society. Feminism will end.

Sean Connery says it pretty well....

If you are referring to the rule of thumb, it’s not Scriptural nor did I recommend it in the least. That was a law in America. Anyways Exodus 21:20-21 clearly states my that it is permissible to beat a slave with a rod, nearly to death. If he or she is fine after a day or two it’s acceptable because you own them. You were the one who brought up that wives should tolerate buffeting as a slave. Clearly you weren’t ok with it, nor am I. I was stating what has been acceptable since the wilderness up until recent history.
This example just shows that there is not much of a difference between a woman/wife and a slave (many women may agree). Thankfully Jesus clarified treatment of women/wives in the NT.

This is sad guys.

I'm not a feminist in the least. I do believe that the man is the head and a woman should submit to their husband, but physical abuse is uncalled for and not scriptural.

God has made the roles clear. If anyone husband or wife violates them then it will be God who judges.

How do you guys take this verse:

Hebrews 13

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Does this mean that if you don't submit to your pastor, then he has the right to smack you guys around or paddle you in church?:giggle::unsure:

This just shows that Sean Connery has very likely hit/slapped around his wives and girlfriends. Nice legacy.

To make this thread positive, post about how to treat one's wife.[/Q

Is it Biblically permissive to beat one's wife? Not sure, but not a smart move on his part. I always joke with him saying " you have to go sleep sometime, don't tick me off"!! rofl He told me I was only allowed to have teflon pots. lol I still have a good solid wooden rolling pin if I have need of it. ;)

Nah, a slap is hurting nothing more than your pride. Hungry doesn't condone abuse and neither do I.
So would it be alright with you, if your pastor slapped you around a little, if you wasn't submitting to him and his teachings?

If it's "biblically permissible" to beat one's wife, then it is also "biblically permissible" for the father, brother(s), or other family of that wife to teach said husband "a lesson of biblical proportions".

Or, to answer the question directly,

HELL NO!

/Rant off.

There are several reasons why I love you as a brother, this is one of 'em. (y)

I’m not writing this from a Biblical perspective but you can’t deny this. Spanking is a huge turn on for some women.
Some women, some. Hubby and I were discussing this in a joking manner one day. I said I never got the spanking fetish, can't understand it. But, I said " I was spanked as a kid, so that may be the reason". lol

IIt has nothing to do with violence. It’s not like a rage induced beating. It’s a demonstration of dominance and authority. Granted “Fifty Shades of Grey” was a worldly poorly written book series. These books woke up a passion in MANY women.
I grant you I was shocked when so many women on my FB feed were talking about Mr. Grey. I assumed it was something like Pride and Prejudice, I was soooo wrong. Hubby and I discussed this too. Mr. Grey was supposed to be a very rich man. Hubby said no woman would have put up with his "antics" if he was a regular Joe.

Carnally a woman is sexually driven to a dominant man to reproduce but psychologically driven to a fun man to spend time with. I did my research. More women than you think are ok with, even sexually stimulated by a man who lovingly administers a firm spanking when she admittedly “gets out of line”.
Sure would love to see where you did your research. What do you mean by "get out of line"? If you're talking about role play that's one thing...

Be clear, this is not about an uncontrolled beating. This is a disciplinary spanking. I can’t wait to see the thumbs down and Xs to follow.
So when Mr. Kayla "gets out of line" can I give him a sexy smack up the head with the rolling pin? [/QUOTE]

right. oo7...the biggest fornicator in movies, is the example for all Christian men

and they wonder why there is such a high divorce rate in so called Christian marriages

I was never hit growing up and any man trying to hit me now will spend the night in jail...slap or hit

no woman has to tolerate that kind of thing, Christian or not

I can't believe this thread. it is a disgusting perversion of what God created. weak men need to hit women. silly little men need to slap them

and those men need to learn the consequences of a woman placing a 911 call

I know he says he is not, but he is getting a visceral kick out of this and on any other Christian site, this thread would go the way of dodos

if someone enjoys being abused, they obviously need help. it is not natural.

Perhaps you protest too much? You can report me all you want. I guarantee the countless research papers I’ve read over the years and psychology articles to examine how we are wonderfully made, has been more exhaustive than your conclusions on my exhibition and pedophilia habits. I was just as surprised as you to see the results, not as indignant, but definitely not what I expected. All my life I noticed how women tended to fall for the jerks while nice guys bringing flowers are looked over. It’s not jerks women fall for. It’s dominance that triggers procreative urges to maintain strong genetics. Your response is indicative of your bias towards new information. Good luck in life.

We've gone through this before, you're talking about Darwinism. The Bible doesn't teach that. My husband brought me flowers when we were first dating. I thought that was the sweetest thing, one of many that he did and still does. Women who fall for jerks have somewhere been badly abused in their lives.

right. my dad was so kind. never raised his hand to his wife...his wife actually threw things at him and he never retaliated or did anything physical...he had alot of self control cause my mother was no easy person.

and then we have these thugs come on here and tell us it is ok to hit your wife if she refuses to BE CONTROLLED by you cause that is the actual complaint here

as a woman, I am sure I do not have to tell you that a man who is kind and respecting will ALWAYS have the support of his wife...unless she is a shrew or something.

these men who want to hit are small little tyrants and they need to be beat up by someone who is to them as they are to women and saying some women enjoy it is disgusting. that woman, needs help. that is not a normal desire

of course not. it just turns you on is all

you are not fooling anyone. you and hungry are the type of men that women rebel against. I like men. I am married to one.

I don't consider what you and your compatriot enjoy as the behavior of a man...more like sad little boys giggling over a naked woman in some magazine and fantasizing about what you would really like to do

say what you want. you have already shown who you are

Nothing is sexier than a woman who knows how to use a rolling pin? What ever happened to the June Cleavers out there? Every episode of Leave it to Beaver she was in the kitchen. I’m not sure most people even own a rolling pin anymore. Maybe the dudes threw them out to avoid the bruises.

When 50 shades came out, and everyone was talking about it. There was a radio DJ whose mom didn’t order stuff on line so thinking it was just some book he ordered it for her. Anyways, the callers all reported about how this book was causing their wives to go crazy sexual. Dudes who were sexually starved, all of a sudden couldn’t get a break. This is what spurred my investigation. There’s many more groups than you would believe who practice this regularly. It’s not a sexual thing. They just feel it improves their relationship, clearly defines their roles and causes the wife to be receptive sexually. The more I researched biological reasons, it points to basic instinct. Like most mammals a show of dominance in males causes these natural reactions in females.

I'm around 5'1, my husband is 6'4, if he slaps me he's gonna hurt more than my pride. Just joking around he's hurt me because he's a lot bigger than me.
