I've heard speculation that the forbidden fruit could have been the pomegranate.
Or maybe it's a fruit that hasn't existed since Yahweh kicked man outta Eden. Maybe it was unique.
In Revelation 22 it says the Tree of Life has 12 kinds of fruit that bear monthly and the leaves are for "healing the nations".
Soooo...it could be they're all new fruits we've never heard of or maybe it's pears and plums and apples and pomegranates and figs and bananas and peaches and....

There are plenty of fruits that can be picked from ground level and take more than a bite to eat.

personaly i dont see the the two trees where earthly trees. i personaly feal they where spiritual trees of light producing spiritual manna. revelation 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. the tree of life is in the paradise of God. that is where the Garden of eden is located. I personaly feal adam and eve had access to his spiritual kingdom.

hmm Proverbs 3:18 suggests the tree of life is wisdom and she is female...
In China the peach does represent longevity/symbol of immortality
I dont know of any other fruit that people associate with eternal life. I like oranges, but only have pomegranates rarely. And olives you cant eat straight off the tree, they need to be pickled.

I think you are on the right track. When I prayed for clarity in regard to the Creation Story, this became my understanding. It’s allegorical mingled with facts. Adam and Eve were created to serve God. We were originally vegetarian. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is being taught a right and a wrong. The fruit of knowing right and wrong is guilt. This is demonstrated in canines. We housebreak dogs teaching them right from wrong. This results in guilt. Eventually they will eat what they aren’t supposed to, or chew something and then they hide when you come home. Once they are forgiven they reunite with you and it’s back to normal. Guilt is an emotion that disables the communication between us and our Creator. This is why the sacrifice system was invented. The blood doesn’t eliminate guilt. Faith that the blood atones for sin eliminates guilt, restoring our connection to God. This is why we also need to forgive others.
The Tree of Life is our spiritual connection with the Everlasting Father. He created these vessels we inhabit and will create new vessels for us to inhabit at the resurrection.
