Ummmmm.
The OP is a Charismatic or Pentecostal, and they wrote a Thread that is trying to teach that the elders who gave "utterance", regarding Timothy's "gift" is Timothy speaking in Tongues.
That's the "main thrust" of the Thread.

So, yeah, the OP's Thread is about as confused as a monkey in a Mall, and that's not going to change any time soon.
I don't believe any of this stuff you have accused me of believing.
I presented an add on [Speaking in Tongues] to what Paul wrote to Timothy [Prophetic Utterance] to see who might believe that is what the Scripture actually states.

To me, this is how Seeker Friendly Churches operate. They use Scripture, but add a couple other things to it, next thing you have a Church without God with the appearance of God. When most Members don't read the Word of God, it's easy to add something to any Verse and change the meaning.

For the sake of clarity and honesty, i'll just quote you so that you can see what you wrote, as apparently you don't remember.

""""""s Paul teaching Timothy how to continue Speaking in Tongues [Prophetic Utterance] + Laying on of hands by the Church Leaders?""""

Notice that you are STATING that Timothy will continue to speak in tongues, and in fact, He didnt do that in the verse.

gobble de kook

you are so confusing, it should be a federal offense

I think your own op is not compatible with your comprehension

Did you NOTICE that was asked in a QUESTION?

Therefore, there are NO STATEMENTS being made!

The question implies that Timothy had PREVIOUSLY spoken in tongues.

Notice you said........."HOW TO CONTINUE">

See that world "continue"? This is implying it already happened.

It didnt.

Since I am the [One] who wrote and thought this thread out, will tell you what it IMPLIES.

It implies [does anyone] believer ((Prophetic Utterance)) was related to Speaking in Tongues.
Which would be [NO] it is not related.

I believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and believe they are active.

But some groups will add Prophetic Utterance around in relationship to Speaking in Tongues. They teach that is what Prophetic Utterance means. I think these groups we've seen in Youtube videos with people shaking and falling and claiming it is this new kind of Utterance. Bill Johnson from Redding. California and his known associated 3 groups are promoting what others claim is kundalini. Some of their Doctrines come from how they define terms like Prophetic Utterance.

This is what, from the person who created this OP, is IMPLYING!
And nothing more.

You have not seen me deny the 9 spiritual gifts.
Nothing that ive posted even discusses, denying : ""if the gifts are for today".
What i told you, is that you are some type of Pentecostal or Charismatic, and that is why you want to talk about Gifts of the Spirit.
Well, That's a good idea., if you do it correctly.

But you then reinvented a verse to try to prove that Timothy is "continuing" to do, what is not happening in the verse.
He's not speaking in Tongues, in the verse. And your Thread states that he could be "continuing" to do it.
And so, you made that up, .. You recreated the verse.

I know he is not Speaking in Tongues.
There is no Connection from Paul to Timothy that includes Speaking in Tongues.
I know he is not Speaking in Tongues.
I know he is not Speaking in Tongues.

I know he is not Speaking in Tongues.
My point was never that he was Speaking in Tongues.
My point was who believes that Prophetic Utterance is related to or been taught it does relate to Speaking in Tongues.

The Churches, where their Videos are being used as what is obvious Demonic Possession, these teach this type of Speaking in Tongues Prophetic Utterances.

But your THREAD is trying to conclude that these "utterances", are related to Timothy CONTINUING to speak in Tongues.
And he never DID in the VERSE.

Why don't you post a Thread on "utterances" or "the gift of Tongues"......or "what is a prayer language", or ......."what did Paul mean when he said he speaks in tongues more than everyone there". "or what is happening in Act's 2 with Peter". Or "is speaking in tongues the evidence of the infilling"....... or "is tongues for today".......or "will the DEVIL use the gift of tongues to fool weak believers when he shows up as the Anti-Christ", or...>>"do demons cause the deceived Christian to speak in tongues"...

See all that?

I think you would introduce a thesis on Aztec ruins if you thought it would make your point

Paul is definitely claiming Gifts come from Prophetic Utterances
no. you are confusing an actual spiritual gift with another...having caught up some on this wildly entertaining thread, I hesitate to add to it, seeing as how you seem to believe you are somewhat of an authoritative figure....a giant perhaps!....in the gifts Paul lists

you can direct your op any way you wish, but you cannot re-direct the Bible any way you wish

Satan is known for quoting, misquoting, and very subtly like you can easily miss it, Scripture that people believe as Gospel.
the above was directed towards me simply because I asked where you copy/pasted this op from...so somehow you make a bizarre connection to the devil and then seemingly associate your confusion as my error.

you have introduced any number of rabbit trails in your desire to prove a point no one agrees with...you go from seeker churches to mormons to the devil to kundalini to demonic possession to stating people are not reading their Bibles. I assume you believe you are somehow in possession of some poll that educates you as to who is and who is not reading their Bible?

you would do well to quit laughing at those who have tried to explain to you that Paul was not addressing speaking in tongues where Timothy was concerned. notice most people have left this thread as it appears you wish to dictate what you alone believe is Paul's intent...with absolutely no proof or valid scripture to back it up

reading your personal interpretations is like trying to herd cats...it can't be done and comprehensive understanding of your insertions with valid biblical support, cannot be done either

My Thread begins with Scripture found in Timothy.
Then it ties some Verses with Correct Idealism of Interpretation.
Then it asks a question.
That question is a very loaded question because it connects Speaking in tongues with Prophetic Utterance.

But many picked up on that right away.
And rightfully they should have!

But I wonder if some do believe that.
Because that is what Bill Johnson teaches and we see this wicked demonic videos.

uh....does not work that way

You asked me if I got this idea for this thread from another site.
I said, Yes, but I twisted it from what was being asked in the other site.
That was not good enough for you, so now you will create my scenario for me of what i meant and what has happened?

But many picked up on that right away.
You taught, without proof, that "the elders utterance" were "speaking in Tongues", which isn't in the verse.
See, you are a part of the pentecostal situation, so, in your belief system, if you see the word "utterance", you automatically think that has to be """tongues.""""
Yet, Paul is the person who DEFINED the Doctrine of the Gifts of the Spirit, and He would know to use the word "tongues", if it was what he was talking about.......dont you think?

Also, what you have not seeming picked up on, is that this Thread has quite a few wondering why what the verse says, has nothing to do with your explanation.
Have you considered "picking up" on that?

I did not TEACH anyone anything.

I asked a question that was always going to be wrong?

Prophetic Utterance is like when a Preacher is preaching, God reveals to the preacher someone there in the Church Service needs to be Prophesied over. The Pastor asks for the Leaders of the Church to lay their hands on the person being Prophesied over.

That is nowhere close to Speaking in Tongues.

You don't know what i believe. And you clearly don't have Discernment!

You don't know what i believe. And you clearly don't have Discernment!
The denomination that is engaged in the....."God speaks to me, and tells me what im to say to you as a Prophecy", is always Pentecostal-Charismatic related.
See, the " speaking prophecy" denominations are always Pentecostal- Charismatic, related., as its only these groups that worry about this stuff, except for a few that are caught up in #7

1. "the infilling of the Holy Spirit"

2. "a second work of Grace"

3. "tongues are proof you are born again, and they only proof you are filled with the Spirit"

4. Worrying about a "prayer language".

5. Chasing Gifts of the Spirit all their lives , instead of actually doing anything for God and Christ.

6. Entire sanctification

7. Losing your salvation.

I would not go to that church

at any rate, that would be a word of knowledge...not prophetic
