I understand that maybe the thought of being called home and leaving your spouse and family is too personal, but I was really hoping to see what the men who thoroughly believe/already have supported their families on their salary believe regarding this topic.

To me, here is the long and short of it. We belong to God, those who trust and put their faith in Him. If it is not God’s will that they be wealthy, then no matter what I leave, it will be squandered and lost. I grew up in poverty, and through my own design was destined for slightly greater than poverty. It is because of His design and wisdom that He granted me in Him I have desired more from myself resulting in a higher income. Even scraping together rent twenty-five years ago I was more capable and resistant than my children who have never known hunger and embarrassment because of clothing that was styleless and improperly sized. They never had to struggle. They will be successful because we (my wife and I) lifted them not because they climbed.

Our Heavenly Father knows best. He knows our breaking points, how hard to push us and what motivates us. Money is a crutch not a benefit. True strength is what you are without money. Letting somebody walk assisted weakens them. Forcing them to stand on their own strengths them. That’s the long. Here’s the short. Leave a legacy, not a crutch.

(She hated both Jedi AND Sith, so I don't know how much stock I'd put in her advice...)

Nope, it causes better immune systems because the house never gets quite as clean.

If that’s the case I need to re-examine everything I think to be good and true. If it’s based on Star Wars, proper consideration needs to be applied.

She tried to set herself up as the player character's mentor, and regularly (and roundly) castigated the player character for helping people. She claimed helping people made them weaker.

As the player, I cared not. I was after light side points and I didn't give a fart in the Force what she said. :p

well second born children often have to deal with handme downs and improperly sized clothes firstborns tend to get the largesse no matter the circumstances...though that just teaches you either sewing skills or to wear your rags with pride lol.

Remember when baggy pants were the fashion? Well thats because its better to wear clothes that are too big then clothes that are too small, but then crop tops came in AND capri pants so it didnt seem to matter as that was the look! Never mind that it probably came about because people just couldnt find clothes that fit.

If you were wealthy you wouldnt even need to buy clothes off the rack you had a tailor or designer who made your clothes for you.

A lot of children wear clothes that appear to big for them because their parents know they will grow into them. A pillowcase sack dress can last until it gets to short to cover their legs. if its loose thats what a belt is for.
